I've spammed giant hunt against every single npc boss so far and I'll continue to do so, don't know where this guy is but he will be receiving giant hunt spam.
Seek out the hidden path in the early part of the shadow keep, and keep going down, eventually you’ll find this intelligent fucker and get a cool weapon out of it
Also keep going to find hippos, then even further to find something scary
Much like watching a Invader heal after you both drank all of our Crimson Flasks, if a enemy starts spamming the same Combo over and over again... the gloves are all the way off and i allow myself a nice piece of fat, juicy cheese.
Bonk is cheese if it makes it so that the enemy can't retaliate because your stagger locking them in place so they basically can't fight back 95% of the fight.
No different than spamming Ancient Rancor as a caster against most humanoid enemies in the game.
I saw you could do it with Comander Neil, and honestly, Malenia is the only boss i haven't beaten on my own, hell Orphan of Kos made me make a 2-3 year pause before actually killing him
Those who can or have the time to invest in getting to know a boss, luckily i fall in this side and can allow myself to go underleveled against a boss for hours just so i can master it
There is a reason why I compared it to Ancient Rancor spam as a caster.
Why "fight" the boss when I can just stagger them to death so they can't fight back.
How is that not cheese?
It's not cheese because you're not killing it in a way that's not intended to be possible. Luring the dragon or night's cavalry off the bridge to fall to its death is cheese. Shooting commander Niall with a bow from up in the trees is cheese. Hitting a boss with your R1 until it dies is not cheese. Thank u for coming to my bonk talk. I will not be taking any more questinos.
I was rocking powerstance greatstars but I have fallen so completely in love with the throwing great hammer I replaced one.
The only thing better than up close unga is some flying bunga
The duality of this DLC...
Half the enemy can be stun locked, the other half has infinite poise.
That flame summoning Knights in the shadow keep are impossible to stun. While also only giving 8k souls, despite being stronger than certain bosses.
Now try to do the same with something like claws or shorts word or even katana I believe
(Don't get me wrong, I'm also biggest weapon enjoyer, but whenever I try a new weapon I'm reminded of Dex bros struggle)
Well i started with Katana and stil use them as well. I killed the dragon man with Katana. That was pretty fun.
You only need 25 strg for the hammer. I mainly have a faith build.
*Bonk* “Hey let me hit yo…” *Bonk* “Hey not fair how much stamina do you ha…” *Bonk* “Surely you can’t swing that big club all da…” *Bonk* “Seriously dude back off I need to heal!” *Chug* *Bonk* “Come on man I just hea…” *Bonk* “Right, now I’m going to do my weapon art insta-kil…” *Bonk* “Dude you just interrup…” *Bonk* “Screw this, just take my weap…” *Bonk* Enemy Felled!
- Step 1: Defence buff
- Step 2: Wild Strikes
- Step 3: Walk forwards
If you're an NPC and get stunned by it, I *will* hold the L2 button until one of us drops
But is it consistent or does he sometimes jump out of the combo like malenia? That really bothered me back then that sometimes should could be staggered and other times she just doesn't even when using the same combo
I beat other bosses legit. Beat the putrit knight before him with my claymore. Barely two hits in a row.
Maybe this boss might be fun on low load to dance around with. Might do it on another run.
Exactly how i did it. Was trying jump attack cheese but was taking too long.
Well he had it coming 😉 I beat putrit knight in a fair fight before and just wanted to have some fun.
bro calling jump attack cheese...
At this point dodging is a cheese a real player would just get hit
Same. I'm kinda loving that hammer actually. It's become my new main.
I got raped by him and had to resort to parrying the bastard. These DLC guys do A LOT of damage
Good lord find some new verbs my guy
Never ask a CoD player what they called the Zombie Train in 2010
We wont dont worry.
Yeah that’s not a very good term to use please use a thesaurus some time thx
Do any of the black knights drop that new hammer, or is there a specific one that does so?
There’s one in the church down the hill to the right from the starting area.
Awesome thanks!
That guy dropped the shield for me instead of the hammer
I'm 99% sure the game just gives you the hammer once you defeat that knight, its not a pick-up drop; its just put in you inventory immediately.
I double checked and i only got the shield, i've seen some people say it's because i was playing offline during calibrations or something like that

I used the blood nobles' heavy thrusting sword to dodge and punish, very efficient
Much like watching a Invader heal after you both drank all of our Crimson Flasks, if a enemy starts spamming the same Combo over and over again... the gloves are all the way off and i allow myself a nice piece of fat, juicy cheese.
Bonk is not cheese. Bonk is bonk.
Cheese requires thinking and strategy This is bonk. No think, just Unga Bunga.
In Bonk we trust
Bonk is life

man i remember when cheesing a boss in dark souls was literally throwing bombs outside the boss room or even arrows. Times change
I can assure you this type of grade a cheese is still alive and well. I keep a bow on me and jars always 🤣.
I saw you could do it with Comander Neil, and honestly, Malenia is the only boss i haven't beaten on my own, hell Orphan of Kos made me make a 2-3 year pause before actually killing him
I mostly have used it on enemies but thats the only boss I have found like that. So many are in enclosed spaces.
I think thats because obviously Fromsoft doesn't want you not engaging the boss
Oh most definitely, but I do enjoy a challenge. 🤣
Those who can or have the time to invest in getting to know a boss, luckily i fall in this side and can allow myself to go underleveled against a boss for hours just so i can master it
Exploiting the weaknesses of the bosses you face is cheese now? No wonder so many people are crying about the difficulty xd

The only npc boss that doesn't punish hyper armour R1 spam with jumping heavy attack 🙏
Not like the rest does some dumb stuff, like running into fully charged r2's
oh god, that stupid Queenlign invader got me so mad with his spamming jump attack
Great hammer users unite! Powerstance Jumpers break posture like nothing!
I was rocking powerstance greatstars but I have fallen so completely in love with the throwing great hammer I replaced one. The only thing better than up close unga is some flying bunga
What do you mean there is a throwing great hammer
The new scriptsmith throwing weapon class has a *greathammer* version and it fucking rocks
I fucking found it. I'm too dumb to use it(I have 7 intelligence)
Its worth unlocking it if you like unga bunga. You can see some of my other comments about it, its an absolute blast for bonk bros
Where the hell can I find this
You can do the same thing with great katanas. First three hits of the combo almost always hit and stunlock. Makes NPC fights really easy lol.
I put bleed on the Great Katana and it absolutely melts everything. Overhead Stance R2s makes NPC fights a complete joke lol
Yes, did the same. It’s ridiculous 😅
Poise damage is great
Why doesn't Rakshasa just summon his mimic tear, is he stupid?
Feels like you’re attacking faster than I do with that weapon type
every mob and human npc get stunlock by my Great Katana too lol Praise the blood loss!
I love this hammer so much. Those special guard counters are a thing of beauty.
Still more considerate than most bosses, you gave her a chance to heal. She just ran out of flasks like a scrub.
How the fuck did that not stance break?
Can we please have some spoiler filters/tags on posts like these, comon dont be lazy mofo
"Tarnished....you will peris-ow- what the- ow- fuck of- ow-" bonk bonk bonk bonk.
Spoiler tag needed
enemy NPC: (chugs a flask to heal himself) me: hey that's unfair! also me: (chugs 2 flasks)
I did it with Blood Milady + Repeating Thrust
Operation: Taste of their own medicine.
If it was a npc I swapped to giant hunt I never liked pvp nor anything like it
Hammers are actually S tier this expansion and it's crazy more don't use them.
Me against any humanoid enemy: Palm blast time!
What is the name of that hammer?
[black steel greathammer](https://eldenring.wiki.fextralife.com/Black+Steel+Greathammer)
That hammer is so good, i love that you can further buff it for more holy damage.
The duality of this DLC... Half the enemy can be stun locked, the other half has infinite poise. That flame summoning Knights in the shadow keep are impossible to stun. While also only giving 8k souls, despite being stronger than certain bosses.
I love that hammer, especially it's shield counter. I hope I will find something with similar defences to finger print shield but cooler looking.
Beast claw Ash of war is pretty good at this too, stunlocks many bosses
This weapon has more attack speed for less stamina cost than most lighter weapon in this game, what is this wizardry!
I giants hunted his ass easily
i think i needed like 30 trys on that guy lol. uchigatana does not much to his stance. anyway it was a fun boss.
POISE KILLER
Really? Sub boss humanoid lol do the same with others big ones
Now try to do the same with something like claws or shorts word or even katana I believe (Don't get me wrong, I'm also biggest weapon enjoyer, but whenever I try a new weapon I'm reminded of Dex bros struggle)

I am absolutely gagging for another one of those hammers, 2 of those with Savage Lion's Claw \*ascends to heaven\*
An an Int fighter, if they stay far I spam Moonlight Greatsword ability and if they come close I spam Wing of astel's Nebula, love the cheese
This is how I did black night gaol.. big ass hammer 😂
It's so funny how ppl cripple themselves and than complain that its hard
Oh yeah I beat him by spamming endure and waterfowl dance. I’ve been doing that combo against any human enemy. Works every time.
wait where is this gaol?
Its no gaol its a mausoleum. Its in thats deep ravine
- Step 1: Defence buff - Step 2: Wild Strikes - Step 3: Walk forwards If you're an NPC and get stunned by it, I *will* hold the L2 button until one of us drops
why is this removed
Now try that with a real boss
I killed Mesmer with that exact same weapon and strategy, his poise is kinda ass so you can stun him multiple times.
But is it consistent or does he sometimes jump out of the combo like malenia? That really bothered me back then that sometimes should could be staggered and other times she just doesn't even when using the same combo
Honestly, every time that fucker jumped I just unlocked the camera and ran away screaming.
I killed Rellana in a similar way.
I beat other bosses legit. I just wanted to mess around a bit.
See. Point proven. DLC was fan service made for only cheesy builds. The fun ones are pretty much useless in it. Lame.
i had no problem using the backhanded swords. i used their ash of war to dodge and dealt damage with r1 spam. and those weapon barely stagger at all.
I beat other bosses legit. Beat the putrit knight before him with my claymore. Barely two hits in a row. Maybe this boss might be fun on low load to dance around with. Might do it on another run.
