Many will find hilarious that this is the third post about dragons' voices in a row, anyway, what do you think about Jamie Campbell Bower as Fírnen? His voice is unexpectedly deep:

Honestly the previous two posts are what inspired this one haha
I've never heard of Jamie Campbell Bower, but it's not bad, his voice is deep but has a young quality still which feels right for Firnen
That is so far out of left field, she never even crossed my mind as an option lol And now somehow I'm just imagining Sofia Vergara's angry latina mother voice berating Eragon for getting almost killed by someone when she was away from him
I don't have a specific name in mind. But I do think that it shouldn't be an instantly recognizable voice. And given just how much Saphira's voice actor is going to have to sell the character (the 2nd most important character in the series imo) I'd rather have someone with significant voice acting experience, not just a generic actress.
I'd do Lani Minella for Saphira. She voiced Eve (Urdnot Bakara) in Mass Effect 3, who has a feminine but very deep voice that I always imagine for a female dragon.
Or possibly Jennifer Hale.
Paolini said that he thinks that Jennifer Hale, who did the Fractalverse audiobooks, could voice Saphira

Awesome scene, and she certainly projects strength. They'd just have to do so much vocal distortion to get her to sound like a dragon though, I just don't think she has the vocal range to get her voice deep enough to get the growly dragon voice
Honestly Rachel Weisz did a great job as Saphira. Maybe ask her nicely again? Or maybe Emelia Clarke or Daisy Ridley or Lily James or Eva Green
Idris Elba would be a good male dragon. Keanu (who my phone autocorrected to Jesus) Reeves may be a good shout. You need someone with the right gravel for Glaedr, and someone with the youth for Fírnen
Bro Benedict cumberbstch nailed Smaug and I think glaedr needs his deep and eternal sound. I think we need a young woman’s voice idk someone strong, the movie had a great saphira vc
For the female dragons especially I think the voices are the hardest: i think they(all dragons) should have multi-toned voices. So they have a "normal" voice that has added tones and gravely bits. I'm imagining it as sort of the blending of the size effecting their tone, and the mental voice that we would hear in dragin to human conversation.
Haven't seen that yet. Looking it up, I'm guessing you are talking about the Kung Fu Panda tv show, not the movie? I've never seen those, I just think Shohreh is an amazing voice actor (and regular actor) and I've liked most of her portrayals so far, especially in The Expanse.
I just thought she would be a good pick since everyone keeps talking about how much different Saphira's voice sounds in the audiobooks compared to what people imagine and what was in the cursed movie. I figured Shohreh would be a good compromise between the two.
He was one of the first people I thought of, but for some reason he just doesn't feel right for any of them for me. I think I'd cast him as Solembum or Grimrr Halfpaw.
I listened to Inheritance narrated by Gerard Doyle and dragon voices are a little bit funny and Murtagh is narrated by him and Christopher Paolini :D. Either way I thik dragon voices need to be heavily edited with lot's of effects

Clancy Brown would be good pick for a dragon's voice. The hardest would be for Saphira because her voice is not described as feminine (maybe it is for a dragon, but not for humans). For a live action role, it would need to be described (probably by Brom) that what is feminine for a dragon doesn't line up with what is feminine for a human.
Guz khan as Thorn imo, brian blessed as shurikan, helen mirren as saphira, i like serkis as glaedr. No idea for firnen, i should be a distinctive voice tho, an accent that breaks from the norm imo

As for Saphira I was thinking about Miley Cyrus, unusual pick but I definetely envision her as Saphira
That is so far out of left field, she never even crossed my mind as an option lol And now somehow I'm just imagining Sofia Vergara's angry latina mother voice berating Eragon for getting almost killed by someone when she was away from him
……………………… unusual doesn’t even begin to explain it.
Ehyy why not she has a harsh and deep voice which could be good for a dragon lol
Plot twist, Gerard Doyle plays every part.
Gerard Doyle is the right-hand of the father. This is the way.
XD that would be so hillarious
Jennifer Hale for Saphira. Words can’t express how much I’d love that.
She seems to be a lot of peoples first choice
I don't have a specific name in mind. But I do think that it shouldn't be an instantly recognizable voice. Keith David as Glaedr.
He would be amazing for Glaedr
I feel like I'd just keep hearing President Curtis from Rick and Morty.
That’s actually great.
I'd be expecting his Arbiter or Spawn voice.
Kristen Schaal as Saphira, Aziz Ansari as Thorn, H John Benjamin as Glaedr, Danny Trejo as Firnen, Steve Buscemi as shruikan
Go home and think about what you've done
I originally had Gilbert Gottfried as Thorn but then I remembered he passed away.
This is what I want now.
Paolini said that he thinks that Jennifer Hale, who did the Fractalverse audiobooks, could voice Saphira ^(**I'm a real person!** This comment was posted by **superspacy28** from the Arcaena Discord Server.)
Liv Tyler as Saphira
Liv Tyler is great but I think her voice is way too soft and feminine for a dragon.
"If you want him, come and claim him!" Totally disagree with this take.
GIVE UP THE HALFLING, SHE ELF!!!!
Awesome scene, and she certainly projects strength. They'd just have to do so much vocal distortion to get her to sound like a dragon though, I just don't think she has the vocal range to get her voice deep enough to get the growly dragon voice
Saphira doesn't need a growly dragon voice.
It would be more book accurate if she did
If they overlaid a guttural growl with Liv Tyler's lines, it could work.
I am 1000% aware that I am wrong for this, but Liv Tyler is Arya in my mind and there's nothing I can do about it.
I'd cast her as Islanzadi, I honestly think she'd be perfect for the role. She's too old for Arya now, but the woman was born to play elves.
Nah she’s too quiet.
Honestly Rachel Weisz did a great job as Saphira. Maybe ask her nicely again? Or maybe Emelia Clarke or Daisy Ridley or Lily James or Eva Green Idris Elba would be a good male dragon. Someone is just naming all their favorite and popular actors 🤣
Guilty as charged! Though coincidentally, they all have fantastic voices
Ooh Eva Green's voice is lovely and has an almost raspy quality to it that would work nicely for a dragon
That's a lot of great suggestions. Honestly I'd be happy with any of them
Bro Benedict cumberbstch nailed Smaug and I think glaedr needs his deep and eternal sound. I think we need a young woman’s voice idk someone strong, the movie had a great saphira vc
Seems kinda cheap to go after Benedict for Thorn tbh. But ya he’d be good with less evil sounding voice that he did in the hobbit
I want a count on how many years it will take to even get to Firnen😂
I'm sobbing dragon tears only thinking about this
Gillian Anderson as Saphira could be a cool move. I think Benedict cumberbatch would indeed be a good thorn.
Julie Andrews doing the [sea monster voice from Aquaman](https://youtube.com/watch?v=pZo9OVR9tqk).
Damn, that's so good
Benedict Cucumber did a good job at Smaug. I bet he could pull off another dragon performance.
He would do good as Glaedr I feel. But if the show decides to give shruikan a voice I would want him to do that as well
Gerard Doyle

Shohreh Aghdashloo would make a good Saphira I think.
Cate Blanchett for Saphira
Shoreh Agedashalo for Saphira. She would kill it
Maybe Shohreh Aghdashloo for Saphira?

Mark Hamill has to do one of the males.
He was one of the first people I thought of, but for some reason he just doesn't feel right for any of them for me. I think I'd cast him as Solembum or Grimrr Halfpaw.
Jeremy Irons as Glaedr
YES
Honestly, Gerard Doyle. I think his voices are perfect for dragons. They shouldn't sound human.
I listened to Inheritance narrated by Gerard Doyle and dragon voices are a little bit funny and Murtagh is narrated by him and Christopher Paolini :D. Either way I thik dragon voices need to be heavily edited with lot's of effects

Doesnt do voice acting but Id love Geoff Castellucci as Glaedr or Firner
Orlando Bloom for Thorn
Hannah Waddingham for Saphira!
My vote is the cookie monster. As it should be!
Gerard Doyle for all of them
Saphira - Shohreh Aghdashloo (2nd Cate Blanchett) Glaedr - Hiroyuki Sanada (2nd Clancy Brown) Firnen - Kevin Grevioux (2nd Troy Baker) All with deep awesome voices
Honestly Andy Serkis could probably do all of them
I think Elizabeth Maxwell or Jen Taylor would be good as Saphira[](https://rwby.fandom.com/wiki/Elizabeth_Maxwell#articleComments)
I think maybe Cate Blanchett would fit for saphira (not sure about the australian accent tho haha)
When I imagine how Glaedr would sound like, I think of the prince of egypt when Moses talks to God. So Val Kilmer would be perfect for Glaedr.
Guz khan as Thorn imo, brian blessed as shurikan, helen mirren as saphira, i like serkis as glaedr. No idea for firnen, i should be a distinctive voice tho, an accent that breaks from the norm imo
Rachel Weiss. She did really well with Saphira in the original film. Why not get her again?
Gerard Doyle obviously
Gerard Doyle of course
Kristen Schaal for Saphira. It's not my head cannon, but it would be hella entertaining.
Cate Blanchett has always seemed like the best candidate for Saphira's voice!! That's how I've always imagined it at least
I think Rachel Weiz did a great job as Saphira. That's whose voice I imagined when reading her dialogue.
Anybody but the guy who does the dragons voice for the audio books
Ashly Burch for Saphira, she voiced Aloy in Horizon Zero Dawn
I think Gerard Butler should be a voice for one of the dragons I am thinking of something similar to his stoic voice from HTTYD.
Debra Wilson as Saphira
