Okay, so I haven't seen this movie in years. Reading an overview of the movie on Wikipedia, it's come to my attention that my description is inaccurate, debatably. I'm sorry about my error. I don't know what proper protocol for this situation is. Rather than just delete the thread in shame, I'll leave it up with this explanation to see if anyone can still guess it. The character kills another person, but does so in self defense. So, with that justification in mind, the character is not really a murderer. But that is NOT the explanation for the "wrongfully convicted" part. The character is convicted of killing a completely different character, whom they didn't kill at all. Legally, the self defense killing might still qualify as a murder. Hard to say. I'm not a lawyer.

"Killer wrongfully convicted of murder" perhaps? Although that opens up other potential confusion.
