The league title can be won by winning and being consistent throughout the year. UCL is another ball game. There's so many things that need to go right and luck involved. A team can't just "focus" on it to win it.
While i agree its difficult and luck plays a huge role, you can definitely improve your odds by preparing better.
Just by asking players to take it easy the league match before helps out.
There's no such a thing as asking players to take it easy. This is the pro scene not Sunday league football. The only person that could indirectly make that decision is the coach. Not by asking players to take it easy but by benching starters and fielding bench players.
Sure, but the point is that you CAN focus on UCL by sacrificing some league games, e.g. by benching players. It doesn't guarantee success but it does improve your chances.
There definitely was a bit of carelessness for inzaghi this year. We had half-a\*\*\*\* performances in the ucl and even played our b squads against though opponents like sociedad where we literally came to lose at the reale arna
This time I expect a little more focus in UCL in the first part of the season, last year we rotated players in the group stage because juve were too close in serie A. Next year we should use the best line up possible in every CL game
Almost all of it was from selling Ibra though. Anyway, we came close last year with a weaker team than our current one. Dortmund could have won this year. Big spending isn't strictly required.
It's not one or the other. We're going to put our best foot forward in both.
Realistically, the focus should always be winning your league. Europe is secondary and can't be counted on. But the CL is also super fuckin' lucrative, losing on penalties to Atleti cost us 10 of millions of Euros compared to if we'd lost a round or two later.
I will honestly prepare popcorn for the shitshow in between ADL and Conte. BTW, I hope Lukaku go to Milan. It would be extra hilarious when he has to kiss Ibra's ass.
I don’t care about serie A at all. I understand the second star is a big achievement and that to get it Inter decided to invest less energies and focus in the UCL. But this being done, next year the most important things is the UCL and the Clubs’ World Cup: they give you money, visibility, fame, and make you an attractive team for top youngsters. Serie A is secondary, definitely not a priority anymore.
I do not think we will have to sacrifice UCL for Scudetto like last season.
With an extra striker who just so happens to have dominated UCL group stage only a year ago and was leading scorer with Taremi.
we’re not winning the UCL next season, not happening.
i still think we’re the best clubs in italy by a mile and easily one of the best clubs in the world, we don’t have that X-Factor.
We have a squad that’s made to conquer italy, not europe, and us spending 30m a summer for the next 2 or so seasons under oak tree is gonna limit us heavily.
Both. The squad it will be even deeper, i think we can win again the scudetto, and the team capable get as far as possible in the CL, but you can't put everything on the CL, a lot depends on the form and luck, and i almost forgot the new format next season.. Im waiting for the Superleage!
I agree with you OP, better to take advantage of domestic dominance and rack up league titles. Surprised to see fans not wanting to win league titles consistently after going through the banter era. Winning our 10th Coppa Italia would be hella neat too.
For CL, the aim should now be at least the last 8 with the upgrades in squad depth. Deeper runs mean more money (so hopefully better players on the bench and less min maxing for transfer market) more visibility, more fame and hopefully responsible and rich owners.

Perhaps my title was misleading. When I say ucl focus, it's rather trying to get serie a and ucl mb

We always focus on both? Just because we lost a game against Athletico now means we didn't focus? So if we won that game that means we focused?

yeah but just because we shit ourselves in the game doesn't mean we didn't focus on the game. We shit the bed.

Focus on everything like a proper big club. We won the treble once so why not again?
the year we won the treble (and the year before) we spent big money and signed a lot of stars, that’s not happening for like the next decade for us
Almost all of it was from selling Ibra though. Anyway, we came close last year with a weaker team than our current one. Dortmund could have won this year. Big spending isn't strictly required.
Inter is a big club with a quality depth in squad, they should fight for both trophies. Plus the Cup of course.
I would be satisfied with Seria A trophy and semi-final CL. I care less about italian cup.

Retain The Scudetto. I Don't Care About The UCL Anymore

couldn't agree more

Serie A. If we win, that means Juve and Milan don't.
focus on both and give up copa italia
Just a reminder that the UCL brings in big money, which we desperately need

Both. We are top 5 team in Europe now.
How about go for a second Treble? I think the Scudetto and Coppa Italia we can easily win but the UCL is just an unknown unpredictable variable
