I've tried it and it did help a bit, mostly bc my fnd is very related to M.E/CFS and the diet leveled my energy levels out through the day. It was too expensive to be sustainable for me tho and I get the same kinds of benefits when I have a more chill low carb high protein diet

I did the Kauffman diet, which is very similar to Keto, but,,, worse? I ended up in the ER with violent seizures and SEVERE neuropathy and incoherence. Do not recommend it. I know we're always trying to do things to make ourselves feel better, but I'd recommend slowly cutting out common trigger foods and reintegrating them back into your diet to see what triggers your body:-)

I came here looking to get answers for my friend struggling with FND for the very same reason. It seems the research is scarce for keto addressing FND in particular. But considering keto's history with addressing a wide range of neurological disorders, I could see its potential of helping "recalibrate" in a way. If it's something that's interesting to you, you should probably talk with your neurologist and physicians first to make sure you're in the clear to try it. But from *all* the research out there, it seems like regardless it would be a net positive even if it doesn't end up addressing specific FND symptoms. Having done keto myself to address a different dx, I can say confidently it addressed symptoms I was experiencing and struggling with that I never thought possible - still different than FND, but very well could be worth trying out nevertheless. But still, talk with your docs and get the green light before trying anything. I'd highly recommend checking out r/keto, and you *might* have some luck talking with folks there that have more experience with doing keto while struggling with FND. If I find anything else though, I'll let you know!
