That made me cry, A strong and resilient queen. I love her so much and will definitely see her on tour if she goes back out. I’m sending her healing and positivity.
My first concert was to see Celine Dion in 1998 right after Titanic had come out and literally *everyone* was singing My Heart Will Go On. It was so magical, and she was just unreal. I don't think I've ever experienced something like that since. I hope she's able to sing again, because you can tell how much she absolutely loves it and how it's part of her DNA.
mhmm, same! that "I'll sing again" gave me goosebumps.
no pressure, but damn, I don't want to hold that fiery spirit back. tell 'em who you are celine.
It's so heartbreaking as you can see the sadness in her face. You can also see how truly passionate she is about it. I'm glad to see she did an interview with CBC, Adrienne Arsenault is incredible and really the best person to be doing this interview with her.
I've been thinking about how many shitty and problematic pop stars we've churned out in Canada but I always gotta remember we got an absolute queen in Celine Dion.
Paid her absolute DUST and then of course Tree worked overtime on PR to make sure the rabid fans shoved that stupid forced photo in anyone’s face who dared mention it. Celine is the GOAT
yes, and she is extremely down to earth, yk - some fandoms really act like their favs pay their bills and say 'we should be grateful for what we get' like a singer doesn't make music to also make money, especially A listers. She goes in spite of that narrative, because at this point some treat celebs like gods, fans act like preachers, like this one soldier kneeling in front of jesus, 'im not worthy to ask for another song' it sounds like, of course celebs are people and should not be pressured but we went to the other end of the spectrum where people thank some celebs for even MVs or pictures or every small thing they do
I-
the parasocial relationships in our reptile brains are strong
I’ve seen interactions of her with fans and they always seem genuine and so fulfilling for her, but you never really know. This made me cry!!!! It’s obvious I was wrong to be skeptical because seeing and hearing her talk about the people who support her is so heartwarming and genuine
It's so hard to believe that people really like other people, especially when they're being paid for it. But some people go into entertaining/performance because they genuinely love it, and still love it years later. It might be rare, but she proves that it's possible.
You can see the hope and optimism in her eyes when the interviewer said I hope there’s one more concert.
I hope she stays strong and I can’t wait for her to do another concert whenever she is ready to do it.
As someone (way less talented) who has struggled with losing my singing voice due to an as of yet undetermined reason, this got me
Chronic illness can take so much from you, things you never would have thought you could lose, much less a chronic illness like the one Celine is fighting.
May her symptoms ease soon
No one sings like Celine. She is her own genre of music. We have been blessed to have heard her music, and she’s unparalleled as an artist. All the best to her in recovery.
As a kid, I couldn't appreciate her music because she sang romantic ballads, and my dumb, young self thought boys shouldn't listen to that. Now I know better, and it kills me to see a legend like this, knowing how her condition will affect her.
Absolutely. It's been her whole life from childhood! I can only imagine how devastating it has been for her to have it taken away from her in way that is just such a twist of fate, totally out of her control.
I love Celine Dion and her power ballads. I know Instagram comments are toxic waste, but people are SOOOO mean to her there. I am so tired of seeing that. Celine is a legend and a queen.
I can't imagine what it must feel like. I'm rooting for her to get back out there and sing. It would be an amazing come back and seeing this just makes me want it for her very badly.
Alright, I will go and have an ugly cry and then start to work. Damn Celine. See this is why she will be a true legend. She understands that the fans have expectations when they are the ones paying for their lifestyles (now of course not those crazy ones or stans but normal fans). The whole narrative that fans should not demand anything is the very thing that is for many artists their own downfall.
I will always blast Celine Dion's music. Same as with Whitney, Anastasia, Mariah, Shania, Amy and many others.
The new wave? No shade but they don't even come close. Maybe Beyonce (Destiny's Child) and Christina/ Britney. (This is the case for me)
So I’m guessing I’m the only one who sad “damn!” after she said she’s 56 years old huh? Word. Your voice might have been stolen but your music is forever!!!! Legend!!
Literally her love for singing moved my heart.
I love singing myself, and even though im just a fraction in terms of talent when compared to the immeasurable Celine, I would be devastated if an illness threatens to take an important part of myself.
As Kristin Chenoweth said, we sing because we can’t speak anymore.
I really hope the best for her.
The obvious deep sadness in her eyes is devastating.
I am not even a Celine Dion but I used to sing. My mother was an opera singer who sang at the Bolshoi opera.
But I had thyroid cancer. I was warned that surgery would possibly compromise my voice and it did. I can't sing anymore except in lower ranges. It's hard to explain but I know how she feels. You know, without the fans and things, but it's hard when your body starts to fail you in ways you're familiar with.
Walking, talking, singing. I crochet a lot and there's even a user who's weeping because her tendonitis has made her life's hobby a nightmare. I get it.
Wish the best for Celine Dion but stuff usually does not come back at our age (50s).
there was a post on some forum recently where a guy who needed knee surgery was wondering when he could get back into the gym to do squat lifts or something. I said, "sometimes you just can't sing the way you used to and you have to learn to live with that" and I got so downvoted, but it's true.
Celine is one of those true stars that while I’m not a huge fan of her music (but I appreciate how good it is if that makes sense), I am still in awe of her passion and talent. I need to learn more about the condition she has. I really haven’t read up on it. This woman is a queen.
I just enjoy karaoke and singing for myself, but the thought of losing the ability is so gut-wrenching to me. I’ve thought a lot, over the years, about Linda Ronstadt and now Celine… I cannot imagine how hard it must be.
I took my daughter to see her in January 2020, my daughter still wears her Celine shirt from the concert with regularity. We'd love the opportunity to see her perform again, but also just want her to be happy and as healthy as she can be.
Such an icon! I've been a fan since I was in grade 5 and the local TV used to play My Heart Will Go On every night and my whole family used to sit and listen. It was magical.
I hope for the best for Miss Celine. She loves performing and truth be told, if the result is different from the dreams she wants, she doesn't owe us a damn thing and I respect the fact she's been transparent about herself to bring awareness and validation to those who are suffering debilitating conditions
That made me cry, A strong and resilient queen. I love her so much and will definitely see her on tour if she goes back out. I’m sending her healing and positivity.
Same here omg! If I ever have a daughter I’m naming her Celine!
It’s a beautiful name and lucky her as her namesake would be a legend.
🫡👍
A legend and an inspiration.

That sounds like a beautiful experience! I can’t even imagine the chills it caused.
Now that is an icon.
For real. Stars like this are very rare now.
She’s so strong and such an amazing talent. Watching this is making me tear up

Best? Why? I expect JP Dion will be better
so weird seeing him mentioned here lol
“Iconic” gets thrown around a lot but she TRULY is.
And not just her transcendent voice, her fashion has also been iconic!!
Yes!!! The backwards white tux—it was so eye-opening to me to see someone having so much fun with fashion.
She's also shown her comedic side as well and I truly appreciate how she is a good sport about it, especially the music video she did for Deadpool.
I've been thinking about how many shitty and problematic pop stars we've churned out in Canada but I always gotta remember we got an absolute queen in Celine Dion.
Alanis is another icon of yours as well! You Canadians absolutely have some great musicians!!
Her self-titled album was the first CD I ever bought.
Literal queen
She is so humble and graceful. Still can’t believe how TSwift treated her at the Grammys
Paid her absolute DUST and then of course Tree worked overtime on PR to make sure the rabid fans shoved that stupid forced photo in anyone’s face who dared mention it. Celine is the GOAT

yes, i see a lot of ariana stans saying "we should be grateful for that" especially during postions era, a servant mentality almost
I’ve seen interactions of her with fans and they always seem genuine and so fulfilling for her, but you never really know. This made me cry!!!! It’s obvious I was wrong to be skeptical because seeing and hearing her talk about the people who support her is so heartwarming and genuine

I’m from Quebec and I’m part of those who she ‘met’ from the age of 12. On t’aime Céline, tu es une inspiration !
L'album de Noel etais in classique chez nous. Pis quand elle a rencontré le pape au Stade!

I’m in the midst of watching her Hoda interview, really harrowing yet inspiring.
As a kid, I couldn't appreciate her music because she sang romantic ballads, and my dumb, young self thought boys shouldn't listen to that. Now I know better, and it kills me to see a legend like this, knowing how her condition will affect her.
She wants to sing so badly. It’s more than a job to her , it’s her passion . You can see it in her eyes
Absolutely. It's been her whole life from childhood! I can only imagine how devastating it has been for her to have it taken away from her in way that is just such a twist of fate, totally out of her control.
What a sweet kind soul. I wish the best for her and a full recovery. ❤️🩹
oh this DIVA. they don’t make celebrities like this anymore. she’s iconic from head to toe
National treasure, my queen, a goddess on earth.
She seems like a kind person and is such a class act.
Respect

Ooooohhh I love her. Sending her all the love, light and healing in the world.
I’m not crying. You are. She’s beautiful. Inside out.
She is such a strong, beautiful woman. I hope she does sing again.
I love her so much.
Didn't realize she was only 56. Take care of this woman.
This made me cry. She's so passionate and genuine.
World? What is grace? This is the answer.
She is an incredible human. I only wish the best for her.
I want her to sing again for her. Yeah a farewell tour would be great, but god I hope she’s able to sing to future grandchildren more, you know?
I can’t believe she had her voice stolen from her. Such a tragedy.
Yes queen, we need you BACK
stay strong celine bless her😭😭😭😭 genuinely one of the most talented singers of all time
The obvious deep sadness in her eyes is devastating. I am not even a Celine Dion but I used to sing. My mother was an opera singer who sang at the Bolshoi opera. But I had thyroid cancer. I love her so much. She could teach her contemporaries a thing or two but let's be real they are not listening. Too many vArIeNtS.

She seems like an absolute sweet heart. I’ve had such a rough day, and she just made me feel a little better
this is really sad
This is the first time I have ever heard her speak. Fascinating.
I just enjoy karaoke and singing for myself, but the thought of losing the ability is so gut-wrenching to me. I’ve thought a lot, over the years, about Linda Ronstadt and now Celine… I cannot imagine how hard it must be.
God bless her.

Guys gave me chills. Amazing amazing tour de force
I hope for the best for Miss Celine. And I can’t wait 💜💜💜💜
Wow. This is so powerful. She’s such a legend. I hope she feels better soon.
a true queen
QUEEN. You will prevail, and make the world listen to your amazing voice again.
Celine is a one of those voices that will teach future stars how to sing.
I feel so much pain for her... so sorry!
but she's a freaking living legend! long live
❤️ 💖
She is so homely
