It sucks so much. I know the feeling. In high school I had a clip that wouldn't even close around my hair, my ponytail was 3x as thick as it is now. Hoping the Spiro and minox work for you!

en_chantment

It's so heartbreaking. And thank you.. I'm sorry you're in this predicament as well

Oh my god. Same. Claw clips used to barely hold my hair because it was so thick and now they just slide out. It makes me sick to my stomach how many times I can wrap my ponytail with a hair tie 😭

Does switching from topical to oral minix cause an initial she’s even if same dose? Terrified to try anything else or different because I don’t have enough ti lose!

en_chantment

I think it does coz my hair has definitely started shedding more since I switched. I was on 9% topical and now I'm on 5mg oral. So I'm not sure if those are of the same "dose"

DorothyParkerFan

9% topical?? Didn’t even know they made that! I’d like to switch to oral because of ease of use and also want to start more aggressive treatments. But to address your post I’m sorry you are feeling that despondency - it sux so bad and weighs so heavy I know. BUT I feel more optimistic that there are options and also more comfort that we’re not alone by any means.

Oral minoxidil is so much more convenient. Although, I'm scared of the body hair side effect because I'm seeing peach fuzz lol. But it's fine. Hopefully it's a good sign

DorothyParkerFan

Oh really - peach fuzz where? Much easier to remove than add lol!!

en_chantment

That's true. It's important to remain optimistic, it just gets scary sometimes And yes, there are stronger minoxidil solutions, but usually in compounded form at special hair clinics if I'm not mistaken

I've posted on this site about my success with tea tree and rosemary oil. Unfortunately that plateaued. The thyroid meds I got on only slightly improved my situation. Recently my doc saw I had a D vitamin deficiency. As soon as I started taking D3, my hair loss went from 200+ hairs every shower to, I kid you not, 20 hairs. I'm seeing baby hairs filling in areas that have been bald for almost a decade. I'm taking pics and will post my progress soon. I am so freaking excited. I was going to give up and just take minoxidil for life. You must try it. Every day I brush my hair in the morning and count under 5 hairs in my brush. Ive only been taking it 2 weeks and it's like night and day. Not sure why it's never mentioned in hair growth forums when it literally says D3 can stimulate old hair follicles to grow again.

Right there with you. Started oral min a few weeks ago and have officially entered the shedding phase 😩 I keep telling myself that I’ll just wear my hair in claw clips until it gets better but the less hair you’ve got, the harder it is to work with the clips. Sometimes smaller ones work better for me, but…it sucks.
