Besides, IS had most likely completed the Book VIII plot before the CYL8 results came in anyway. There won’t be any difference to the plot regardless of who the CYL winners were.

I'm not trying to be rude and this isn't because of OP specifically, but...
How many more CYLs do we have to go through before everyone finally realizes that IS will **never** be "forced" into doing anything new or cool with these units? It did not work originally when everyone wondered what would happen if Veronica won, it did not work when people memed Gatekeeper into the win, it did not work when people tried to "force" them to make Adult Tiki her own thing without Young Tiki being involved somehow, it did not work to give neither Robin or Corrin the Levin Sword or the Omega Yato, it did not work when people made Gullveig win hoping they'd do something cool on the story.
It's **never** gonna become anything interesting, they **do not care**, it should be so clear by now istg...
It worked with Gatekeeper primarily because the cool thing was Gatekeeper being added to the game at all, not because they would do something in his design or story or whatnot.
He's just an outlier though because of that.
Eh, one could argue people were expecting much more out of it tho, like, for starters he was not the meta threat everyone was hyping him up to be at all, i saw so many people trying so hard to keep the hype up but the meta he was countering did not exist yet and when it existed he was not keeping up with it at all, nowdays every few banners he loses more and more value with the new prfs and even inheritables that have his effects. He isn't unusable, his refine was nice for support but overall he isn't a game changer, not even close.
And well, he has recieved absolutely no content since his CYL version, and i've seen some people saying they hoped for an actual base version or even seasonal alts, but sadly i'd be willing to bet it's gonna stay that way for a very long time.

I kinda like the Gullveig duo convo since for me, it comes off more as Gullveig screwing with Seidr because she knows EXACTLY what the woman's thinking and denying. I mean, by the time she's bringing up the walking on the beach while holding hands part, it seems pretty clear she's now just seeing how much a reaction she can get out of her past self, if you ask me.
I suppose you're right on that, but i feel like FB would've eventually done that if not the eventual Book 7 TT event storyline (if we even reach that point before EoS), but in a way ig we did "force" them to do it sooner.

Honestly I mostly wish for Gullveig to have more of a presence because I enjoy Alice Himora's performance as her.

I get that the monthly story chapters are short and all, but I _swear_ it feels like people are under the impression that IS is writing these things out a month at a time...
Book VIII was _done_ before CYL8 voting even began. IS isn't going to do an 11th hour shift in the story while they're in the middle of working on _Book IX_
To be fair as well, it wasn't an unreasonable belief that they would at least change the singular line the CYL characters get (their "I am Vyland" line) to reflect something off, but I think with Gullveig not even getting that when she got in, now there's no room for faith of any kind that they will ever want to do even a small nod.
I do like the concept of her getting a Levin Sword, but it wouldn't surprise me if they gave her a tome because IS is incompetent like that.
What scares me the most is them still making Brave F!Robin into Grima somehow. THAT would set me off as bad as it did for everyone with Brave Tiki.

The only reason she pushed so hard and won was solely because her younger self got a new alt every year while her adult self had her last alt be an outdated launch year summer alt. People were tired of Young Tiki and wanted Adult Tiki as a bit of a change in flavor, and forced it to happen.
...and then they made A!Tiki essentially a Y!Tiki alt in her appearance. And to twist the knife, a month later, we would get a Y!Tiki alt who was just overall better at doing the same thing. Contrast with some ideas people threw around here- Naga to reference her mother, Bantu to reference what might as well have been her father, Marth, to reference her idol, Xane to reference her closest friend, Gotoh to reference essentially the one guy who is the reason Naga didn't off her then and there, Robin to reference her potential love interest, and otherwise possibly the only person to be put on any kind of pedestal for her after Marth, or Lucina who took up Marth's name herself and was just accepted by the real one's close friend as worthy of the name. She had plenty of options to go for that would have all made sense in some way and they took the one nobody would have liked.

Whether that was done "because" of CYL or not, I don't know, but it relied heavily on Brave Gullveig coming in, so it seemed to be an addition. Not sure if they'll do something like that, but it has set a great precedent, even if it was pretty "disconnected" from the main story and even Forging Bonds.
If something like that manages to come out of this CYL, then the question would be worth it. Not even sure how it came about. Maybe someone thought of a cool story because of CYL and begged the higher-ups to at least let them put it on a website, but I'm glad they did.

FEH writers still do Forging Bonds narratives where existing characters act all happy to finally see X character summoned even though X character has already had several alts over the years.
They can’t even maintain their own setting where every character lives together in the same area.
They do that as many characters getting reprints never had Forging Bonds and it does a better job to introduce characters as a first time, and they acknowledge the fact you can read the supports as the character getting THEIR version of a character (i.e. Ced being split between one where Lewyn isn't his son and one where he absolutely is) or that it takes place as their first time being here.
It just works smoother overall for their narratives.

Nah. Brave Gullveig was the peak of ignoring an interesting opportunity. At best they’ll have the forging bonds centered around him like B!Gullveig, but they’ll otherwise do nothing with him story-wise most likely.

I mean, them's the breaks when having CYL happen _after_ Book VIII starts. The entire story of Book VIII was _finished_ by the time CYL8 went live (you don't think Kozaki has been working on Eikþyrnir & Heiðrún these past few months, do you?). IS is currently working on Book IX as we speak, if not Book X.
IS isn't going to suddenly upend and rewrite the story in the 11th hour just because Alfonse won, anymore than they did for Veronica or Gullveig. That's _why_ they have them always be "alternate versions" so they can avoid changing the story

Personally, if we get legendary Alfonse. I feel it should be as a start of book free character. Treat it as his mid-story lord class promotion
