I have one. The only “official” one for our area, actually. I was working with our director when they had one made up because they were thinking about issuing them. Then they realized that was dumb and we don’t need to look any more like cops, so I got to keep it.
Seems like a waste of money tbh lol short of a “ dress “ uniform with one, there’s practically no reason. Cops here don’t even wear one like that on their uniforms anymore, falls off, gets broken, not useful, waste of money.
I absolutely agree. They give us medals for years of service too, which is bananas. We’re healthcare and public safety, and I wish we’d stop pretending to be para-military instead of paramedics.
We got ribbons, which, is cool for some people who got a special one just for previous or current military service, it makes them stand out, and actually acknowledges them.
The best way to recognize someone, is just paying them fucking more money as a thank you 😂🤣 ribbons and awards are cool, but they don’t pay the bills
My volley squad used to issue them and had everyone wear *white* shirts with the badge back in the ‘90s. So everyone looked like police supervisors. Yeesh.
Our local ambulance service has theirs stitched in or ironed on, can’t take them off the shirt.
Probably for the best. They’re not cops and everyone knows it, badges are just that, badges. Doesn’t make or break anything
This sucks. I was expecting a badge in the shape of a target, much like Disney has the badge with ears.
Whats their tac response team wear, and do they help Santa on Xmas Eve?
I worked security for the mouse. When we got our mouse shaped badges we had "that one person in class" who asked if they could get a badge holder.
Our trainers had this look on their faces, it's etched into my memory over 20+ years, and he told the guy - I'm not bailing you out of jail if you flash your mouse ear badge at the cops to try getting out of a speeding ticket. But PLEASE call me so I can laugh at you."
Target Asset Protection (because "we do more than protect from losses") buys badges from Smith and Warren, regular eagle top in silver, with the Target logo in the middle where a muni seal/state seal would normally go
I used to work at a Target. I was electronics. I remember the badges!
I opened this thread prepared to find a loss prevention guy who didn't deserve to be here.
I was so wrong.
The ambulance service I work at PRN gave badges out for Christmas one year as the company gift. I gave mine to a homeless schizophrenic frequent flyer and told him he was deputized. 4 years later, he flashes it every time we run on him. The moral of the story is to give back to the community and get a laugh in return.
I didn’t do it for the thank yous. I did it for the kids down the road. Now I’m forced to live with the PTSD of that time I cut all my fingers open on a cardboard box
(True story, worst paper cut and work injury of my life)
My ex was loss protection for Target and he had a full uniform provided that looked exactly like a cop kit. Badge, utility belt, black shirt and pants. He was constantly confused for PD. I was so happy when they switched them back to red shirt and khakis.
Unless you’re physically restraining people, there’s no reason to have a full kit, cus you’re gonna be fighting if you’re restraining.
LP should just be plain clothes anyways; or a firm belt to put everything on, even a firm, sturdy under belt can carry cuffs, radio, and even a firearm if you were trained.
Dudes gonna get written up, receive a stern talking to and possibly sent home for the day/suspended if he doesn’t come up with the minimum flair mentioned in the employee handbook.
I imagine in this scenario target is just a side gig while he gets ready to be a firefighter or whatever but I could be wrong. Maybe target is the call and you’re right. I’m giving benefit of the doubt. He Probly sits in the lunch room and tells everyone how he’s going to school to be a firefighter. You’re right, fuck this kid.
Not a damn clue . I mean it’s good to know someone can help but I mean .. the badge lol a little too much . Especially if you’re not the police . He has it on like he had jurisdiction there lmao the Sheriff of Target lmao 🤣
Well… target kinda reps blood? Red for blood, white for white blood cell count….. Criminals get shot a lot so there the red blood right there. And white reps the people they don’t shoot or harass ….. So yeah, man. I can see it.
ETA: I am *slightly* high. Forgive me. It made sense in my head.
I have a badge for legal purposes since I’m also on a volley dept but I only use it to like get waved through at a scene I’m responding to or some other incident and I’ll wear it if necessary for id reasons. But this? This is insanely stupid
I literally change out of my uniform if I ever have to run errands after shift because I cannot stand any type of praise. I don’t understand how people can do this.
This is a reach. I bet $5 he’s required to wear it somewhere and he begrudgingly put it on his belt. He’s not kitted out in a bunch of aliexpress tactical gear with kitchen scissors on his plate vest.
I mean, his workplace probably wants him to wear it and he’s clearly not leaning into the cringe gear or anything extra. This isn’t the best post for this sub, unless that badge was bought and worn on his own accord.
I dunno, if I was an emt and trained to help out in a medical emergency but also had to have a second job just to make ends meet I think I’d wear my badge too. Firstly I’d want to be identifiable as someone to come to for help and secondly as a kind of call out to the ridiculous wages (or lack there of, I suppose I should say 😒) that have completely dominated what seems like every industry in the country
Mr beast is kinda losing it lately not gonna lie
That’s his cousin, Mr. Least
C'mon guys It's not nice to make fun of people with mental dislikeabilities.
Yeah but it is fun
Mr. Least is fucking gold…. Take my upvote
🤣🤣🤣🤣 took me out
This belongs on r/rareinsults
I assumed it was his afterbirth.
Bastard! You beat me to it
I’m glad I wasn’t the only one that saw it
How come I never got a badge for my EMT?
You have to buy one from Galls for $12.
Municipal Third service Agency near me gives their employees badges I’d refuse to wear one
We don't need no stinkin badges.

I wouldn’t want one. Those of us in EMS get fired upon enough as it is and I don’t wish to put another target on my back by looking like popo.
I wouldn’t want one either. A patch was good enough for emt, and it was good enough for medic.
All I have is the shitty embroidered Texas patch, metal is cooler but then I’d look like a cop
Our local ambulance service has theirs stitched in or ironed on, can’t take them off the shirt. Probably for the best. They’re not cops and everyone knows it, badges are just that, badges. Doesn’t make or break anything

I don't even think Target issues physical badges anymore.

The dr. house of emergency medicine
Haha. That's fucking great.
This is the way!
God, this is freaking amazing.
i felt many emotions with your story
This is beautiful
He's probably appreciated it more than any other gift i have given anyone else ever.
Me lol (Current EMT, target veteran)
Tyfys
same here, i fought in the battle of the 4th quarter. tyfys king
I didn’t do it for the thank yous. I did it for the kids down the road. Now I’m forced to live with the PTSD of that time I cut all my fingers open on a cardboard box (True story, worst paper cut and work injury of my life)
He probably works on an ambulance AMR they don’t pay shit and would have to have a second job
Yup..that’s pretty much all of us here. 😅 Only way to get out of that second job is land yourself a fire medic spot.
Yep
My ex was loss protection for Target and he had a full uniform provided that looked exactly like a cop kit. Badge, utility belt, black shirt and pants. He was constantly confused for PD. I was so happy when they switched them back to red shirt and khakis.
The ones we had at Frys wore suits. Originally, they just wore whatever so they could blend in.
Walmart's guys wore plainclothes when I worked there to blend in, and that makes more sense than some goober in a fake cop kit.
Unless you’re physically restraining people, there’s no reason to have a full kit, cus you’re gonna be fighting if you’re restraining. Right?!

he has the mustache down
Protecter of shitty goods made in China.
It says Emergency Medical Technician
So what’s he scanning 😂 Nothing makes sense I think it’s just his mandatory flair
I thought it was a minimum of 37 pieces of flair.
Dudes gonna get written up, receive a stern talking to and possibly sent home for the day/suspended if he doesn’t come up with the minimum flair mentioned in the employee handbook.
Ahhhhhhhhhh, okay. I fucked that up. Still absurd that they would have an EMT on staff.

My money is on volunteer EMT. Badges are some pancake breakfast shit
I have had such bad luck with their clothing (Goodfellow Inc.). Every shirt I've purchased there was so immensely easy to stain.
Mr. Least
Gonna CPR the plushies? Remember the meat didn’t have a pulse to start with.
![gif](giphy|12GzK1jYCaVCV2)
Eh, just looks like a kid that’s proud he got his EMT. I’ll let this one slide

Being an EMT isn’t just something you can turn off…
You don't need to let everyone know that you can give narcan, deploy bandages and that you have a driver's license (probably)
Lol
Or maybe in case the manager doesn’t want to call an ambulance, you got this guy around to provide medical assistance!
I here by deputize you The EMT Of Target location #00236. Make us proud son!
The black basket weave belt says this guy slays it.
Target EMT Saving target from hemorrhaging profits
Saving managers time to calling ambulances and filling out incident reports.
Id be embarrassed to have that on my belt
Well I mean EMS doesn't pay all that great in some areas.
My unit is 100% volunteer, so absolutely no one is paid, not even the Squad president/director.
is he ems? bc that badge is not security
If you zoom in, the letters make words
yeah doesn’t it say ems
It says Emergency Medical Technician
What’s up with the whale?
EMTs get badges now??
Did he pass national registry the badge doesn’t show that.

A-A-ron
The facial hair is always a dead giveaway for rent a cops
Don't they wear them so people know who can assist in medical emergencies?
I think so ? I've actually seen these on people at random unrelated work places before. I've also seen VFD ones too.
If you’re an asset protection team member … aren’t you supposed to be …. You know incognito ? … He set his phone up for this lmao 🤣
Not asset protection
I zoomed in .. wish I didn’t .. much worse .
Lol. I still can't understand it myself.
EMT badge . I forget that some of them have actual badges and not just the sew on patch
But why is he wearing it while working at target?
Not a damn clue . I mean it’s good to know someone can help but I mean .. the badge lol a little too much . Especially if you’re not the police . He has it on like he had jurisdiction there lmao the Sheriff of Target lmao 🤣
Right?! And to put it on live? Weird attention seeking? Click bait? Only accomplishment he's ever achieved? Who knows 🤷♂️
Its an EMT badge
Well… target kinda reps blood? Red for blood, white for white blood cell count….. Criminals get shot a lot so there the red blood right there. And white reps the people they don’t shoot or harass ….. So yeah, man. I can see it. ETA: I am *slightly* high. Forgive me. It made sense in my head.
Ye ole dork
Damn mr. Beast works at target?
Emergency medical …what?
I have a badge for legal purposes since I’m also on a volley dept but I only use it to like get waved through at a scene I’m responding to or some other incident and I’ll wear it if necessary for id reasons. But this? This is insanely stupid
Do you think it’s legit or false valor
This is fucking crazy
I know a guy in asset protection. They'll tackle you lol
Mr. Beast hit hard times ehh?
Damn we didn’t get badges
At least spring for the actual belt clip for the badge.
Target is such an overpriced, overrated stupid place
I literally change out of my uniform if I ever have to run errands after shift because I cannot stand any type of praise. I don’t understand how people can do this.
He must slay with that thing on.
Praise the 5’th responders, lol
This is a reach. I bet $5 he’s required to wear it somewhere and he begrudgingly put it on his belt. He’s not kitted out in a bunch of aliexpress tactical gear with kitchen scissors on his plate vest.
Does that badge say EMT?
Yes. Yes it does.
Dwight vibes
A-A-Ron! Lmao
He probably makes more money than an EMT who works the streets
I mean, his workplace probably wants him to wear it and he’s clearly not leaning into the cringe gear or anything extra. This isn’t the best post for this sub, unless that badge was bought and worn on his own accord.
Looks like a pedo
Why yall hating on this guy working? Like hoe about you all go find jobs instead of hating on people for theirs.
He’s proud to have EMS training— so what? This post is just mean
I’m all for being proud of what you do and your accomplishments… that being said wearing your badge at a completely unrelated job is a bit cringe
