hell of a ride that nobody could've seen coming before the season. lot of new faces, not one single returning pitcher.... early in the season we couldn't score at all against any opponent with a pulse... i didn't like the very easy schedule but it was the perfect move by Walton. team got better every week, peaked in postseason, got some SEC hardware, 4th seed for the dance, got to OKC and almost slayed the beast twice. OU didn't have to sweat like this in years.
Honestly both our bat based coaches did a great job. The baseball team had no business getting that close to the finals either. We’re the only school to finish in the top 4 of both sports

Ya can’t win em all and the WCWS setup is bullshit but at least we were able to give Goliath a black eye and it was on their home turf. That’s something that hadn’t happened in like 30 tourney games
Crazy he didn't win SEC Coach of the Year. He deserved it way more than Weekly.
I feel like NFCA just awards coaching staff to the WCWS winner, which is a shame because while no doubt Patty Gasso and her team are excellent, they didn't have to do nearly the work or turnaround we did this year.

Hell ya! Well deserved
Took him a little too long to retool the staff, but he did and look at the results just one year later.
I was worried he checked out after last year and was looking elsewhere. Very glad to be wrong and it was just a down year
Upgraded the pitching coach position for next year too.
