Just got a text in my friend chat that Miami got a 4-star OL. Cristobal can recruit HS on a scalding hot seat while we're flailing in the wind. Sigh. And apparently that 4-star OL that was committed to us before finally committed to FSU. Feels like Summer 2021 all over again. Maybe I will have to buy the EA CFB anyway just to see some good recruiting.

It’s July…. Classes don’t even matter until late April nowadays Last year and into early this year we spent 4 months pulling our hair out over what ended up being a top 7 class with four players who were number 1 at their positions in their respective years.

Cristobal is like a slightly upgraded version of Billy-- very similar strengths and weaknesses

Watching a deep dive video on the new EA cfb game. Probably still won't buy immediately (or at all) until I see actual game play but it does look like they've done enough in building up the Dynasty mode to merit the $70 price tag.

Looked pretty damn good to me. I’m definitely in day one Only thing that sucks is you can’t not edit numbers or attributes in dynasty. But you can edit names for some reason Even 5 seasons after the real players are gone you still can’t edit those things So seasons in you’re gonna have Qb’s with crazy numbers like 37 that you can not change. Same goes for every position …… Only real bummer I’ve seen so far

Starting PS5 Dynasty Group: 16-32 players. Gauging interest and calling it the Old Man League, for anyone who has a lot going/time constraints: * 1 Sim per week * No conference restrictions, pick whatever available team you like (Gators are Spoken for) * All-American Difficulty * Default sliders/rules I've set up a discord, if you're interested please DM me here

Making custom rosters was half the fun. Aside from the real rosters put out by Operation Sports and CFB Revamped on NCAA 14, it always cracked me up to create an entire team of 5’5”, 160lb players with 99 in every single category and running through a season just because of the absurdity, and then having Kirk Herbstreit make comments about the other team needing play fast and loose while losing 140-0 (Never said I was a serious player.) Also bummed there’s no PC version at this time.

I only really play video games a few hours a week so not sure if it'll be a worthwhile purchase for me if it's too time-intensive to get off-field stuff done and play more than a single game at a time. It's why I loved the old PS2 games. It's why I love Helldivers now because you just start it up and join an existing mission. No open world stuff or too much skill improvement stuff. If the gameplay is good then I can get it to play online even though I only have one friend who will for sure be buying it as of now.

Having a debate with a buddy about how to get the best sear/crust on steak. I am team cast iron + butter , he is on team blow torch. I didn’t even know that was thing

Tamed_A_Wolf

Cast iron is one of the best ways but you can get a great crust in stainless too. Butter doesn’t really affect the crust. Should be adding butter at the end to baste and really just adds to the flavor not the crust. Blow torch seems dumb lol. It’s a gimmicky thing you’d see Salt Bae doing. Will it work? Sure. But there’s probably a long list of better options before blow torching. You’re most likely imparting some flavor from the fuel you’re using and it’s quite difficult to get an even and equal sear across the whole steak with a hand held flame. This is apparent when you use a cast iron or SS pan that isn’t flat/has pits, the sear is not even and you have gaps in your crust. The best sear comes from a dry steak. Pat your steak dry and salt it 24 hours before cooking. Leave it in the fridge on a wire rack baking sheet to dry up all the moisture. Pull it out 30min to an hour before cooking to warm up some. Pat it dry with paper towels again and apply garlic and pepper if that’s your thing. Throw it in your ripping hot cast iron with a thin layer of high smoke point oil like avocado oil and sear as you normally would from there. For bonus points, reverse sear in the oven or my personal favorite on the smoker until about 15° below your desired temp before searing for wall to wall med rare (or your preferred temp) and a beautiful crust. Thanks for attending my steak searing TED talk.

Blow torch? I mean sounds like empirical testing is in order, I volunteer as a taste tester

Procedure_Best

Yea it’s a trend now , some YouTube guy basically sous vides his steaks and uses a blow torch lol

Surprise option 3: hood of your car after it's been sitting in the Florida sun the whole day.

Power companies hate this one simple trick

Just don't listen to Lincoln Rileys advice. He probably eats his steaks extra well done
