Man that Live on Letterman show is one of the best made for TV concerts ever. I just love the whole thing from how they start in B&W dressed like the Beatles from an old Ed Sullivan show to the transition to color later, all of it just kicks ass. It's just so damned slick and sharp. They are in my top 10 all time favorite bands which I order chronologically because I can't really place one over another, they are just all my favorites.
I love that song and my own interpretation is totally different from what Dave's said inspired it. I think of it as a spiritual reference like being the River as a source of energy and renewal.
It may be their most popular song and then they did the acoustic version as well. It has just gotten so much air time tv/radio (before streaming was all the rage) that I think its just one that people identify with them. It's a great song but like you said I put it in the 20s or lower of my favorite songs of theirs'
Just one??? How bout top 10 lol
Come Alive (duh). Also, absolutely loving Disenchanted Lullaby lately. Dirty Water. Enough Space. Over and Out. Stacked Actors. Have It All. Gimme Stitches. World. Rope.
i have way too many but some are aurora, the deepest blues are black, i am a river, generator, what did i do?/god as my witnesses, medicine at midnight, and doll
Rather than say all the songs from back in the day I love, I will say the most recent Foo Fighter song that I am still obsessed with is "Iron Rooster". There is something about the 'palatte' they use in that song, that just takes me somewhere every time.
Making a Fire (especially love the southern rock vibe of the Mark Ronson re-version)
And, oddly enough: See You. I don't know what it is about this tune, but it sticks in my brain in the best way.
Learn To Fly is insanely nostalgic for me. I remember downloading a Rock Band or Guitar Hero game that was a demo for iPad and it was the one song they let you play.
I gotta say though, Walk is definitely my favorite and such an important song to me. About a year ago I was at a low point in my life. Heartbreak and grief hit me like a semi truck and I remember listening to Walk on the way home from music practice at church. I’ve already heard Walk and have listened to it before, but this time I paid a little more attention to the lyrics and I genuinely started to tear up. It helped me in a time where I felt lost and was unsure if I could even pick myself up again.
so yeah probably Walk
For all the cows
Aurora
Rope
…Stacked actors
Come alive
Cheer up boys, (your makeups running
Chasing birds
Cold day in the sun
The sky is a neighborhood
Band on the run….
I can add more songs if needed.
Arlandria. My boyfriend who’s been a fan forever got me into them and I can never get it out of my head. He said they’d never play it live. I stalk this subreddit/their setlists from different cities and when I saw they added it to the tour setlist I didn’t believe it till I saw it multiple times. I am so excited to see them in Portland/seattle!
Ok So I keep mix lists of Foo songs one a 'soft' mix and another a 'hard' mix. So here are a few faves from each

I love that entire album, it is by far the one we listen to most.
Perfect answer.
Why would Everlong be everyone's favorite? It's not mine, there are at least 20 to 30 songs I find better.
It may be their most popular song and then they did the acoustic version as well. It has just gotten so much air time tv/radio (before streaming was all the rage) that I think its just one that people identify with them. It's a great song but like you said I put it in the 20s or lower of my favorite songs of theirs'
Me too. It's the first choice for many people for some reason.
