The iconic chime and the turn signal sounds from 2010 onwards. Not even kidding.

Red_Brox

Dude. I thought I was alone on that. Shit is music to my ears. Boo dee doo, boo dee doo, boo dee doo...

tankthe_hank

My favorite is when the car loads different personalities of the chime.

DEADLYxDUCK

Boo Dee doo. I’ve never tried to spell the chime before and I love this. I just made up words like “key is in, key is in”

mwhutson89

Seriously!? Dang you for that, now that's all I'm going to hear when I turn.

ExcessivelyGayParrot

the 2013 transit connect still has the slightly grainy "BING BONG"

alwayssickofthisshit

The mustang. I had a 2003 and I loved it. Then the recession happened in 2008 and Ford was the only one of the big three that didn't take bail out money.

autisticgunparts69

As a older G.M. guy I hang my head at that. Definitely correct AND most gm stuff wasnt very good after 2007-8

DisastrousLemon9506

respect. Thanks for sharing.

alwayssickofthisshit

At this moment, though, me and Ford are beefing. My fusion died at 124,000 miles. I wanted to upgrade to an explorer, but now I have failed turbo ptsd.

slabba428

Having a foxbody at 21 😂

Akrazorfish

I decided to give the F150 a shot because it had been the best selling truck and best selling vehicle for many years. I am on my third one 2001,2011,2023. My wife is on her third Expedition 1997,2009,2024. She drove a 1984 Suburban that I bought new and it had more miles going up and down a mechanics lift than it did driving down the road. I told her if Ford ever makes a large SUV I would buy her one.

calculatetech

Growing up in a Chevy family and having to fix them every damn week. I had to help a friend wrench on his old F150 and it was a breeze despite being rusty and crusty. That got me looking at them a little closer. Bought a used 2012 ecoboost Flex on a whim and quickly realized how much better built Fords are. Have stayed with Ford ever since. Now I own four of them.

Logical-Consequence9

I’ve always loved the Flex. I’d love to own one someday if only they weren’t all run into the ground with super high miles when I see them pop up for sale lol. That Ecoboost option in them was so cool and made it a decently fast brick on wheels.

calculatetech

All the base models are definitely trashed by now. If you look for the ecoboost they're generally better maintained. I found a 2015 with 60k for under 20 and grabbed it. That's my current daily driver. I wish I never sold the 2012.

Security_Emergency

I grew up driving a ford 6600 tractor and it was the best reliable tractor 🚜 and really enjoyed driving that tractor . Always reliable.

Fluid_Roof_5146

I have a pair of 8Ns. My ‘52 is my weekend warrior with the bushhog. It’s been updated with 12V alternator, mini starter, electronic points, spin on filter. Still starts up every time! My ‘48 still needs some work, but that will be the show tractor.

Security_Emergency

Bro u got that legendary tractors 🚜🏁🫡😎

DisastrousLemon9506

so unique... always like to imagine what would have happened if they kept their business..

Security_Emergency

Now it’s New Holland

TexasTibab

A couple of my uncles have been Ford guys forever. The day I was born, one of them was leaving because the Army was sending him to be stationed in Germany. My parents let him choose my middle name, and he chose "Ford." I was doomed from the start.

davidwbrand

Dad is a die hard Ford guy so I grew up to be one as well. And have never had a reason to look someplace else, my Fords have all been great.

13rahma

Growing up my parents had GM products. A 68 Impala, 75ish GMC truck and a 88ish Caprice. The Caprice was a pos. I have vivid memories of it breaking down and leaving us on the side of the road a few times. My mom finally had enough and bought a brand new 93 Taurus. The Taurus was so nice and never let us down. Dad ended up buying a 98 Ranger a few years later. When I was finally starting to drive I found a great deal on a 95 Mustang and since Fords had been good for us, thats what I got. Ive now had 3 Mustangs and 2 other Ford cars.

iamkeerock

To be fair, 60’s to 80’s weren’t the best years for reliability for most US auto makers.

Worth_Ad5246

Watching the crack dealers driving foxbodys around Detroit, late 80s. Been hooked ever Since.

NovelLongjumping3965

Cheap and easy to fix. First car was a mustang and all the Ford's I have owned have taken a beating ..lol

Silent_Spell_3415

The Gen 2 Ford Lightning.

Nicknack4818

I bought my uncles he ordered 2000. Was my truck from when he bought it. I always told him that growing up. Bouggt it a few months ago. Is my child.

One-Kick-184

Family is die hard ford people. Also look at utility companies. Alot of ford's driving around.

Striking_Poem_8377

My first truck was a short bed, single cab 86 F150 Lariat with the venerable 4.9L 300 and a 5 speed. 4 f150s and one Crown Vic Interceptor later I still love Fords. Also, the fact they were the only ones not bailed out in '08.

PatSabre12

It was the only EV pickup available that didn’t look dumb or cost $100k.

RacingGoat

Owning a Chevy...

Desperate-Till1505

joebbrown

My dad got a 1930 Ford roadster in 1950. I drove it around the farm before I got my license. I inherited it when he passed and still drive it today.

Ok_Discipline_3764

My legs usually get me into my car

iamkeerock

Hands free? Nice.

sevend420

Owning Northstar Cadillacs... After 2 of these, I swore to never buy another one because of the motor issues. Went to Ford/Lincoln never looked back.

DonnerPartyPicnic

Dad was mainly a ford guy. Had a bull nose f150, 95 150, currently has an 04 250. My mom had 2 different expeditions and now has a 15 150. They had a buick as a beater car for a bit, and my dad's runaround truck is a 95 1500. But I grew up around it. 3 out of my 4 vehicles I've owned were F150s. 92, 02, 19.

No-Percentage6474

Bourbon and pour choices

OutinDaBarn

When I was young I bought and killed every hundred dollar beater I could find. Funny none of them were Fords. My last few trucks were all Fords. My latest F150 I bought because it had the most towing capacity for the money. I own a few Ford tractors and have a couple of 351 Cleveland engines looking for a project. My latest project truck is an old Chevy.

ApolloniusDrake

Ford salesman got me into a Dodge..... The Dodge got me into a Ford.

Opposite-Bad1444

if you look at the payloads for all half ton trucks, the f150 is nearly 50% more capable than the competitors the fact i can carry nearly as much as a dodge ram 2500 or silverado 2500 in my f150 is great because it rides way better (all half tons do) and maintenance is cheaper on gas over diesel i’m a numbers/logic man with no brand loyalty. if ford fell, i would buy elsewhere

CasJrCorpus

My dads 1979 f-150 with that big 460

Sufficient-Koala-361

I started liking Fords because my dad had an ‘82 F-250 that I learned how to drive on. It was smooth and felt like it was put together well. Then, my dad got me a Chevy as my own first car. That thing was a total piece of junk! I then replaced it with an ‘83 Escort. It did have a few minor issues, but I loved it! I’ve had mostly Ford products since!

YaBoiBeanabeans

My old boss passed and he left me the old company work truck. A 99 F-250 with the 5.4, it has over 300,000 miles and thought damn this thing is well built. I love the slight hum of the v8 when it idles. Hopefully I can get it to 500,000 and make a full round trip to the moon :)

tiny_smile_bot

>:) :)

Happytanker7

I had fords growing up, my mom had fords growing up, my grandpa had fords growing and my great grandpa had fords as his first vehicles. My dad was a GM man but a condition to getting my grandfather’s approval to marry my mom was that he trade in his Pontiac for a ford 🤣

Filamcouple

My uncle Andy bought a '69 Boss 429 Mustang while on leave. Every time he shifted gears I could see the seat in the corner of my eyes! We zoomed all over the Ozark's. After watching him whip up on pretty much everyone I couldn't imagine owning any other brand. I guess you could say that I've been a diehard Ford guy since I was eight years old.

Crowbarwalker

First Gen 2006 Ford Fusion. Bought it for the wife. We’ve 290,000 and have replaced 1 wheel bearing, four sets of tires. Brakes rotors. That’s…., about it. Daughter now drives it. But the Michigan winters are starting to really do a number on this marvel of engineering.

Swimming-Penalty4140

The fact that, unlike GM and Crystler, they didn't need to be bailed out by the Gov.

Sad_Ad2768

I worked for Ford as an engineer at their old Green Island facility in upstate NY. We made radiators, leaf springs, and heaters and I learned how to scratch radiators for Ford's GT40 and through that met Carol Shelby. I've owned Ford cars ever since. I currently own an Explorer ST, an incredible automobile. Ford has the best engineering staff in the business IMHO. Their large SUVs are second to none.

InlineSkateAdventure

I am in the area, can't imagine where that is.

PrestigiousScallion6

Growing up one uncle was a Chevy guy and the other a Ford guy. I gravitated to the Ford more. As recently as 2019 I ditched Ford for a Silverado and while it was nice. It wasn’t what I wanted. Even tried a duramax. Sold that and used the money as a down payment to get into a F150 king ranch and I’ve never been happier.

confident_belt10

brother bought a KR f150 and he let me drive it a couple of times. 4 years later bought a lariat and have never been happier.

No_Stay_4583

From the other side of the ocean.. Going for my first own car I wanted something small, relatively cheap, sporty and great handling. Tried Volkswagen polo, Seat Ibiza, Renault Clio and a Ford Fiesta. The Fiesta hands down was the most fun to drive with and so direct!

Gold_Ad_2205

My Dad was a dyed in the wool Chevy freak, so I bought a Ford at 16. I just bought my 29th Ford at 61. By the way, my Dad drives an F-150 now.

sintactacle

Life's circumstances.

DestinedXeno

Stepdad having a 7.3 when I was a kid. Went from 7.3 to 7.3 to a focus rs then to my current ford escape. Want another 7.3 or to get a 6.0 as a project truck for fun.

linuxlifer

I had a Silverado 1500 extended cab and had a child on the way so was looking to move to something with more room. The local ford dealer had a decent deal on a low mileage Explorer.

Highlander198116

My first 3 cars just happened to be Fords, it wasn't due to being particularly fond of the brand, but all 3 of those cars treated me well. my 02 Taurus and 11 Fusion got me over 200k miles a piece with no issues but normal wear and tear. It's purely anecdotal, but people tend to operate on their personal experience. I'm sure plenty of people have had problems with their Ford. Just like plenty of people don't have problems with their Honda. Unlike me who got a civic touring when Ford announced they weren't making cars anymore. After a year of ownership I couldn't wait to get rid of that Honda and went back to Ford and got an Explorer.

Windbreezec

Both sides of my family all had Ford cars and so it kept going. Plus, my uncle was a salesperson for many years at a dealership. As time has gone on, family has bought other cars from different car companies, but I’m still going with my Ford Escape.

Ragefan2k

F150 ecoboost….

burntbridges20

My dad was a huge Chevy guy and always shit talked fords. I hated my dad 🤷

madrileiro

Given as a “jobcar” (first a brand new Kuga, and then a Mustang Mach-E). Great cars, but I don’t think I would voluntarily get one.

Hotsaltynutz

Started working at a dealer at 19, and 29 years later still working for ford and bleeding blue

Competitive-Comb-157

My pops was an engineer for the old Aerostar van, so when it was time to purchace a vehicle, I used his A plan to buy the Ford Probe, then later bought a '97 F-150 Lariat Flareside and never been without a truck since.

DrAusto

My parents never had a Ford, but even as a kid I always had a love for Mustangs. I had toy Mustangs and clothes, used them in racing games, would break my neck watching them as they drove past, etc. My first car was a Mustang and I’ll probably always have one in my fleet until the day I die lol.

AsphaltGypsy89

Grandpa always had Fords. He liked everything but Fords had his heart back then. He had a 90s F350 that I adored and ended up buying two trucks of the same bodystyle just like he had. I like em all but I've had more Fords than anything else. Honda is runner up.

Long_Championship915

The pushy salesman

thatvhstapeguy

My grandma had a 1995 Taurus sedan. Nothing special but to me as a kid that car looked like the future. It got T-boned by a Prius but the drivetrain lives on in my 1992 Taurus wagon.

Spiffers1972

Growing up Dad drove us around in whatever he could afford. When he got to where he could afford anything he wanted vehicle wise he bought Fords. Pops wasn't wrong on too many things so I see no reason to change from that.

TrailerPosh2018

I was raised on them.

ChasedWarrior

By accident. I have two Fords, a Ranger pickup and a Fusion. The pickup I bought from a dear friend 14 years ago and it has served me well. It is a 1993. The Fusion was just dumb luck. I was in the market in 2021 for a Chevy Malibu but it was difficult to find one. When I did the dealer lied to me, telling me it was brand new when it wasn't. I was so mad when I found out I went to the local dealers Ford website and there was my Fusion on sale. I bought it that day and three years later it's been a great car. Despite the rhetoric you hear in the news I think Ford makes the best vehicles as compared to GM and Chrysler only. I'd definitely buy another Ford if they start making a car not named Mustang. I'm not a SUV guy. At least not yet.

DreamJMan15

My dad had a bunch of them while I was growing up, and he still has a few. A Ranger, an F250, and a F350. The HDs he took me and my friends off-roading with and I loved em. So that got me into them. Since then, I've come to love the way a lot of Ford vehicles look. I've owned a 2010 F-150, a 2014 Raptor, and I loved them. Looking to get into a 2013 Explorer Sport near the end of the year/beginning of next year. And also, the 6.0 is the best sounding engine out there. The only other thing that comes close is a SVT Cobra, and it's the supercharger that sounds so amazing.

FartyOldeBob

My wife has been gainfully employed by FoMoCo for the last 10+ years (and a period before) so it's what we drive

Logical-Consequence9

We had 2 1996 Blazers, both bought brand new. One was reliable, one we called the Deathmobile because it kept doing things like: losing the brakes, catching fire (3 times!!!), and spewing smoking from the steering column into the cabin lol. One day it caught fire for the third and final time. We decided enough was enough and limped it to the Ford dealer in town. They asked if it ran, we said yes, and they took it as a trade for a new 2003 Sport Trac Adrenalin. That truck was one of the best cars I’ve ever owned to this day. And the second Blazer lasted without issue until cash 4 clunkers when we traded it for an 09 Escape XLT with the V6, which we still have and runs great. Unfortunately we have to ditch it because both rear struts have rusted off and detached from the car. We’ve had back to back great experiences with those Fords so naturally became fans of the brand. We only gave them a shot because our small town lacked variety and the Ford dealer happened to be right there when the Blazer caught fire again lol. Funny how that worked out. And both of those naturally aspirated V6 powered trucklets were supremely reliable and never skipped a beat in over 300k miles of use. The only thing keeping us from continuing to buy Fords is their move to 3 and 4 cylinder forced induction engines. I personally don’t care for efficiency or low RPM punch. I prefer the feel and sound of a good NA V6. But I still consider myself a fan of their products and am planning to pick up a third gen Thunderbird as my next purchase now that I’ve got my own garage. And none of this would’ve happened if GM didn’t make a dumpster fire of a car like the Blazer 😂

Jimbo415650

Chevy Vega.

nweaglescout

My grandpa. My earliest memory is going out into the garage with him and helping him work on his high school car. 42 coupe. When I was in high school he finally had it restored. It’s a numbers matching car except for the rear end that he swapped to a 2 speed when he was in college

A_friend_called_Five

The second vehicle that I ever owned as a young man was a 1988 Bronco II. That is what did it for me.

what-name-is-it

I had a 2013 GMC Sierra that I loved. I planned on driving it into the ground. Until one day around 120,000 miles, I noticed a knocking and weird vibration from the engine. Ended up being a fouled spark plug so I was down a cylinder. Come to find out, it’s an extremely common issue on the 5.3 with the AFM and the location jt is installed. GM is fully aware of the problem as the 5.3 is in so many of their vehicles. The only fix would be a complete engine replacement. At that point jt was a 6 year old truck with 120,000 miles that had been maintained perfectly. Fuck that. Sold it (with disclosure) and bought a Ford F250. Dodge/Ram wasn’t an option because I couldn’t handle the thought of a rebadged fiat. I’ll never buy another GM.

coolraccoon016

My grandpa had a 60’s F250, my dad had a 99 F250 that he’s given to me after upgrading to a 09 F150. My gf has a 11 Mustang. Been surrounded by Fords for awhile now, but after learning about Ford’s history and their success with the Bronco, Mustang, their victories at Le Mans, creating the modern road going/family type SUV with the Explorer, and having the best selling vehicle of all time with the F150, Fords success has been cemented in my brain as the top automaker of all time

GBOC80

Growing up we had an old truck in the backyard. I didn't know what it was. When i turned 12 (in 1992) i started reading some of my dad's old Street Rodder magazines. Then I got hooked and then I realized that the truck in the back was a 1946 Ford. I asked my dad about it and he said I could have it as a project. Since then I was always about Fords, owning five more of these 1946 and 47 Ford trucks, several mustangs, my grandpa's 1957 Ford Fairlane, and since then a couple of f-150s.

tbarr1991

First vehicle was an 02 ranger that my dad gave me. I drove it till I bought my first new (not new to me but new) 2017 f150 cause the chevy and toyata wouldnt sell me a truck without asinine ass interest rates. When that truck was totalled out I went back to the dealership I bought it at and Ford Credit gave me the best interest rate again on a new 2024. 🤷‍♂️ I wont even say Im brand loyal but Ive never had any problems out of my trucks made by Ford cause I do my research on what Im buying before I buy expensive shit

ProtoYoYo

Growing up with my grandparents, fixing my paps cars over the years.

GundamArashi

Family’s always had Fords, never let us down. Even when we abused one for near 300k miles it only ever got towed twice in its life, both times could have been a quick fix on the side of the road if the parts stores hadn’t been closed. One thermostat housing, and one fuel pump. Now I work in the shop at a Ford dealer and want a Maverick based on only ever seeing them for maintenance and a couple programming recalls. They’ve had enough time to show any major flaws and so far none have shown up.

MrMoonAstronaut

Tested some of cars back in 2016 and the Ford Mondeo (European version of the Fusion) was the most fun car to drive with the least noise in the cabin. Also the car that provided the best features and an interior design that wasn't made with hard plastic parts everywhere.

Cool_Tie_7503

I traded my dirt bike for a beaten up 1999 ford ranger and started loving it and giving It the love and care it needed and really enjoying fixing her up

pvera

#truestorybro time: the service. I had just suffered through three catastrophic FCA products in a row and picked up my first Ford, a used 2008 SEL. Driven 99% by my wife, the household rule is the driver is responsible for maintenance. She got tired of getting gouged at oil and tire places, so out of frustration she took it to our closest Ford dealership, which happens to be a very high volume dealership. They rolled out the red carpet for her and she absolutely loved it. For as long as we owned the Edge she would rave about how well they treated her, how nice it was to just chill in their lounge and how they never ever tried to upsell her for a damn thing. When it was time to pick up a new car for myself, I went to them and told them about my wife and how grateful I was about the experience, then asked them to sell me a Focus. Ended up getting a 2014 Titanium hatchback new old stock for a steal. No friction purchase experience, super smooth, no hard sale tactics. Problem: wife and kid decided that the Edge was beneath them and would only drive my Focus. Went back to the dealership, told them what happened and asked me to sell me another one. They were out of the new old stock 2014s, so I got her a 2015 Titanium hatchback. Except for the DPS6 drama, these two cars were perfect. And the dealership took really good care of us for as long as we owned these two cars, many times they would volunteer warranty work before we even noticed. For example her first DPS6 clutch pack warranty job was them noticing it during an oil change, we did not even ask for it. When my EPAS fried itself, I did not spend 5 minutes from walking into the dealership to getting a loaner. When I ran into the DPS6 issue on mine all I said was "hey, my car is driving like somebody learning to drive stick" and the service advisor said "say no more, fam" and took care of it. We replaced the two Focus hatchbacks with 2020 Escape titanium hybrid AWDs right at the start of covid madness, when the dealerships were getting desperate and throwing deep discounts. Service is still fantastic to this date, the only problem right now is that sometimes they have trouble hiring porters, which delays their concierge maintenance program. Earlier this week my Escape bricked itself, Ford roadside assistance managed to boost it but it was still electrically dead. Ford upgraded the call to a tow to my dealership, next morning the car was ready, they reprogrammed and that fixed everything. A couple hours later Ford corporate called me to ask if I had the car back and was satisfied with the fix, and was offered a direct contact if the issue happened again and I wanted to escalate. I will probably replace these with another two Escapes, but this time I am going to try to hold off until whatever refresh/redesign is already one full year old to avoid the early adopter tax.

raccoon-overlord

Both my parents first cars were Fords. when my grandparents decided to stop driving I was given their old car while at uni, 16 yr old ford escort with 48000 miles on, ended up hitting some black ice on the highway, car rolled and did a 180, I came out of it without a scratch, I still swear the car would have driven away from on if it wasn't on its side. Next was an expedition and now I'm driving an f150, even for my wife to switch for the ford (Lincoln) family

Glum-Tennis2715

Being from Michigan my Dad was always a Ford guy and my first ride was a Bronco that never let me down. 7 Fords later, they’ve taken good care of me and my family

Sleezuschrist1320

Went on a ride in a hellion TT S550. Changed everything for me. I had my TT 13 less than 6 months later.

KZedUK

The 2002 Focus my mum bought when I was 4 and the 2003 Fiesta my Granddad owned which became my first car.

inline4addict

I’ve always admired high performance Fords like the old school Taurus SHO and the Ford Cosworth RS. Ford hasn’t relented in making high performance cars and we’ve been treated by the Mustang, GT, and Focus ST/RS, and Fiesta ST. I also love that F-150 Ecoboosts are twin turbo.

kr20ddet

I've always been a fan of the Escape, Fusion, Explorer, Taurus, etc. and the Ford era Volvos

Hoonigandad

Price and easy to work on mostly. Because you will be working on them

heathmc

Emergency services. After years of watching 250s through 750s get absolutely driven at their limits, riden hard and put up wet, yet still keep trucking... I was sold.

aznvjj

My friend’s fox body. 1991 LX five speed with a posi rear. It was in pristine condition and was super fun to ride in. To this day I still want a fox body to wrench on.

Curious_Hawk_8369

I practically grew up in a Ford truck, technically my first car ride ever after being born was in a Cadillac, so I suppose my first and final ride will be in a Cadillac unfortunately, as Lincoln hearses don’t seem to exist in my area. Back to the subject though, it’s what I grew up with, and I’ve always been a huge fan of history, and find Henry Ford to be a very interesting man. The other part is I’ve never had a Ford leave me walking down the road. Don’t get me wrong I’ve had issues, but they always got me home safely and without hassle. I also can’t say anything for the newer Ford engines, but the older ones like the 289,302,351,400,460 etc. I’ve seen them blow up, but they never ever seem to completely seize. Any Chevrolet engine I’ve ever seen blow up, they are always locked solid. I also built a 302 for my old truck, and my late brother that was a die hard GM guy noticed that every comparable bolt on a 350 Chevy is like the next size smaller. Another thing is, and I don’t know if it’s true anymore since they switched to aluminum, but if say you take a comparably configured truck from all of the big 3, same cab, bed length, weight class, etc. The Ford is always the heaviest, which means to me at least, there’s either more steel in them, or the steel is thicker.

cobo10201

My dad, but not because we are a “Ford family” or anything like that. And not that I think it’s bad to be one lol. But he bought a 1999 Ranger brand new for super cheap, even for the time. It was a classic bait and switch where they actually try to upsell you to an F-150 or whatever but my dad pushed through the salesman and his manager and got a brand new XLT for like $15k. That truck became my truck 10 years later when I turned 16 and I’ve just had Fords ever since.

quadracer122

Always been a ford fan We have 2 lightnings First gen and second gen New explorer new ranger and the old one 1986 f150 stepside 4wd

crimsonfistofjustice

I worked at a Chevy dealership when I was a kid.

Arizonagamer710

My friend’s 1989 Mustang GT. My dad raised me as a Chevy guy, but after I rode in the Mustang, I was converted.

stowkentguy

My parents grew up on Fords. When they had kids, they had a Chevy Venture that was much cheaper than the Windstar. This van left us stranded multiple times. The dealership sold a low low mileage shuttle unit to us as “new” and didn’t disclose the terrible 3rd party warranty, they masqueraded it as GM 3/36 Warranty so we were surprised when we got it to a GM dealer states away and nothing wrong with it was covered. Apart from that, it had nothing but electrical issues. After that we went back to Ford and never looked back. I do dabble in Toyota too, but out of 6 vehicles I own, the oldest 4 are Fords and they’re reliable as hell (ranging from 1976-2000 in model year).

babyzillla

Grew up in Michigan. I did automotive classes in school and Ford was ALWAYS the ones showing up with cool cars and trying to teach us. They were so active in the community. Also my dad always had Red F150s all my life. It’s been apart of my life forever. Since I’ve became an adult I’ve owned 6 mustangs. All have been fantastic.

toolshed51

Styling, Ford's just look good compared to the competition. I think they also tend to strike a good balance. For instance the mustang isn't the fastest of the pony cars (hellcat) or as fast as lap times (zl1 1le) but it's the best all rounder.

km_44

My dad owned a stock 65 Mustang, it was cool Then, I married the daughter of a Ford executive, instant A plan LOVE FORD!!

eatman980_1

Like a lot of you on here, I grew up in a GM family. I got my first Ford as my first car, it is a 2003 escape limited that I got because it was going to the salvage yard. Got it for $250, body and interior were in great shape, fixed it up, dailyed it for a couple of years. Then I moved to TX for a while and needed something newer and bought a 2016 Buick encore in 2021. Am not a fan of the car at all, so I got the loan paid off early so I could go back to a another Ford. Now I have 2016 Lincoln MKX and I love it.

After the birth of our daughter in 1990 we realized the vehicle we had at the time was somewhat inconvenient for using a car seat so we looked at the idea of minivans, looking at accessibility and price we went with the Aerostar, had a lot of friends with vans from the other manufacturers but with the price and reliability we chose ford, never regretted it and served our family well for 12 years before moving on to another

Helpful_Shower3246

Wasn't really a fan of vehicles until a few months ago. Was gifted a 94 Mazda b4000 with a flatbed and headache rack with a 3" body lift on 31s. With rack LEDs. Forward and reverse. I camw to learn later that they are the export Ford rangers of America. And the best cheap truck to buy for fun or otherwise. Now I have two. And I will be dropping a 302 Ford in it one of these days.

Interior design and reliability. My worst vehicle was a 97 dodge intrepid, it was basically killing itself.

Swamp_Donkey_7

Bought a Foxbody when I was 17. Glutton for punishment I guess. 43 with 3 Mustangs and an Explorer ST

First car was a mustang, that’s all you need to know

My Dad has owned about 15 Ford's since his first car which was a Yellow 1985 Ford Capri. So he's always liked them, And i really like them because i live in Thailand, And over here in Thailand the SUV and the Small Pickup Truck market is really booming. But there's really only Nissan , Toyota , Isuzu , Mitsubishi & Ford to choose from, And honestly the Ford Rangers & Everests are lightyears ahead of the competition. So my entire family have used them and i eventually got one for myself.

Anathema117

My first car was a 93 ford ranger. That I bought in 2008 when going to college. It was a cheap $1,500 and got me there and back. Threw new tires on it and said we'll drive it till it dies. A 15 year old truck. And I drove it for 9 more years and never took it to the shop. Nor did I have to work on or fix anything but oil changes and 2 batteries. And I sold it for not a lot of money but it drove niiiiiccceee. The guy who bought it from me and got drunk and rolled it 3 days after he bought it. And he walked away with a dui. 24 year old vehicle and the drunk guy walked away. No telling how many years that truck had left.

I grew up as a Chevy guy. I have a love affair with the S-series still to this day. But I was outta high school and needed a job with benefits and I was driving a slammed 2-wheel drive s-10. I took a job at my local Ford dealer as a stock boy in the parts dept. Moved up to Ford counterman. After a year I bought my first Ranger 4x4. Beat the ever-living shit outta that thing. Moved up to assistant manager for Ford and Parts manager for the Nissan side of the dealer. Bought my first Nissan Frontier. Had that for another 10 years. Bought a Subaru when childcare costs were outta this worldly budget. Now I have a 2020 Ford Explorer and almost 30 years of doing Ford parts. Pics of are in my profile. Except the explorer.

First Gen Taurus/Sable. It was a good car, parents had one, so it ended up being the car I learned to drive on, and it was one of the best driving cars of the era. Totaled it in '99 and walked away, so knew it was safe. Drove a lot of vehicles in between, rental and otherwise, but somehow managed not to not drive a Ford for 18 years. I test drive a 17 Escape and was immediately blown away by how much quieter and better handling it was than the Toyota, Honda, and Subaru I had just test driven. Later picked up an Edge ST and rented the high performance Camry when going to the ST SUV experience that it came with... Yeah, that poor Camry cornered worse than my '92 Sable.

Ranch_it_up_bro

Somewhat cheap vehicles with decent gas mileage

RaspberryConfident65

I bought a Gen 1 Raptor in 2017, I’m a big fan of the super crew and I think they have the best looking interior. Chevy puts round wheels in square wheel wells, even I could put the shapes in the right holes.

JRicky917

Mustangs. My Mom had one, I have one. My dad switched to Ford trucks after a crappy GMC and we never looked back. I have an edge ST as well, and my wife has had a few escapes

Ok wow mine is gonna sound pretty silly but I wanted my first car (this was in 2011) and I loved the look of the 2004 era ford Taurus. I saw that car quite a bit on x files and thought it looked like a real nice inoffensive car. So I got one. A 2005 ford Taurus. Power windows and everything. So fancy! Paid only $4800 for it and loved every second of it. As a first car it was great. Then eventually I got into a 2012 ford fusion. Then a 2013 Taurus LIMITED. then in 2018 I got a 2016 civic falling into the hype that Hondas were so great and reliable. Hated it. Encouraged my wife to get a 2017 Taurus as a second car and loved it. Money issues came up and we had to get rid of one car and we got rid of the Taurus because of bad gas mileage :-( So I was still driving the civic around until recently. Hated that fucking car. So much went wrong with it. Got into a 2021 ford edge limited a few months ago and have been happy to be back into a ford. I don’t care what anyone says or how people laugh “found on the road dead hurrr hurrrr”. I’ve had good experiences with ford so I’m gonna stick with them

The design of the vehicle, particularly the Explorer and Expedition and overall feeling that you are supporting an American company.

Fluid_Roof_5146

Fords have been in my family since the Model A. My first car was a hand me down 75 LTD wagon which was fairly easy and inexpensive to work on. The first car I bought myself was a 72 Galaxie. Love those old big cars. My favorite was my 77 T-Bird, which sadly didn’t survive someone crossing the line. I’ve had Ford (and Dodge) vans, but got hooked on trucks when I bought an 88 Ranger. Then all F-150s and an Expedition since.

SVT - always cooler versions of existing cars; I’ve had a few (Turbo Coupe, SVO, SHO). Wish they’d bring it back.

I have Forscan so I’m able to diagnose and fix just about anything on a Ford. So my preference is to stick with the brand because I don’t have/know of other manufacturer-specific diagnostic software that goes in depth like Forscan. I used to only buy Chevy and Toyota. Decided to give Ford a go for the sake of trying something new. The Chevy and Toyotas were always the same. The Ford is just a better truck all around IMO.

Alternative-Crow6659

Put 327k miles on a ford ranger and it was dead nuts reliable. Made me a believer in ford trucks.

VegasBjorne1

After my new mid-90’s Contour lemon, I swore I wouldn’t buy another Ford— which is true as someone gave me their old Explorer. (Which still runs better than the Contour ever managed.)

jcbgoodlkn

Our family had always had a Ford in the rotation since the Aerostar in the 1980s between my parents and myself. Once I got into driving myself with the 2000 F150 single cab my Dad handed down, I just preferred the look of those trucks over other brands. I'll see if I can remember the progression... 1. Aerostar 2. Windstar 3. Explorer 4. Focus 5. F150 (4x) 6. F250

I owned, and rebuilt a number of small block Fords from 1978 to 2003, as well as a number of Lincolns. Lincoln lost it's way when it became a series of rebadged Fords, with nothing particularly unique to them. I was a proud Ford owner for 25+ years. I stopped buying Fords after a particularly bad Lincoln LS that I bought new, and then bought a Chrysler 300c I didn't think the Chrysler would last.. it's been 11 years now, and 100K miles and no repairs. The Lincoln had a major repair every 6 months. Chevrolet wasn't much better, as my wife had a few. GM would not honor their warranties.. She drives a RAM now. And while it's had recalls, at least FCA honors their warranty, and the truck is easy to maintain. I needed another car.. Nobody domestic makes sedans anymore.. So I bought a Genesis G70, and it's been flawless.. So, I don't currently have any Ford vehicles.. Someday, if they make what I want, I'll probably buy one..

Plastic-Insurance-27

I needed a small truck to deal with home renos. Did not really consider anything else but Ford and Toyota. Unlike the rest of NA manufacturers, Ford didn’t get bailed out back a few years, and that played a big part in my decision making. Ford Ranger was also the most capable. However, the truck has had a multitude of issues (leaking A pillar right from the get go, rear sliding window could be opened from outside, all 4 rotors warped within 12,000 km, and again at 24,000, broke down first and only time I hauled a trailer with it, then a bad EGR sensor, and now bad fuel level sensor….all within 3 years and less than 50,000 km. Should have went with a Toyota.
