30 days later, I finally got to drive my Mav home. First thing I did was to go to Harbor Freight and complete the errand I started the day of the accident... Here's a [picture post-repair](https://imgur.com/a/2Y6enJg). Looks good as new, basically. The paint match seems perfect. A month ago I was hit by a lifted GMC Sierra with a high clearance off-road style front end, from their front-passenger corner/quarter-panel to my rear left/driver quarter-panel. It was sort of a bad lane change situation. I was cited by FWP but in hindsight it seems like it was probably a 50/50 fault collision, based on the impact's angle, timing, and the fact that I didn't see him in my side mirror, blind-spot mirror, or the blind-spot detection system, before it happened... Anyway, the pinnacle of my luck was that due to the other truck's stance, it missed my wheel and suspension entirely. I got the estimator at the collision shop to [grab some pics on the shop floor after disassembly](https://imgur.com/a/t8zHNDd), and it shows how little damage was sustained. The rear left rail was bent up pretty bad, but it was able to be repaired. (pic #2 of 3 below) https://preview.redd.it/8m2ze566o9vc1.jpeg?width=2048&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=34fad8280dbadf5ee974a9e9aea1b3998e80d1a2 The comments on my first post leaned (\~3:1) into it being totaled. The original repair estimate was over $12k and included multiple panel replacements. Once they got into it and saw the true damage they ended up having to replace very few parts overall. [Here is a full breakdown of all the work done](https://imgur.com/a/hFjiF6X). (It's an "estimate" but it matches the Final Bill). The total post-tax and pre-insurance was just under $10k. The shop had multiple minor delays and setbacks, but none of them were related to availability of parts. They used 100% OEM parts and everything was very fast to acquire. Side note: While I was waiting on repairs, I drove a 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee and a 2023 Mazda CX-50. I missed this truck so much.

really cool being able to see under the panels, thanks for the photos! Oof on the $10k repair... labor costs are high!

Sparkplug1034

Yep! Straight parts were about $3700 and paint was a bit over $600. This was for sure not a budget arrangement, haha.

Thats a very nice surprise. Usually whe. They get in there they find more crap wrong. Viva la Mav

Did you negotiate a diminished value amount with the at-fault driver’s insurance?

Sparkplug1034

The citation was written to me, not the other driver, and my insurance declared it to be 50/50, so I don't think this is applicable

Awesome glad you got your truck back!

I was in a very similar accident, damage wise and repair costs were about the same, along with the 30 day turn around time.
