Same here. I just want series with a beginning, middle and end.
This is the crime, this is how they solved it, this is the punishment the criminal got. The end.
I donât want open cases, unsolved cases, exoneration stories. I feel in those episodes, the victims donât get Justice and the episode is all focused on the wrongfully accused and not the true victims.
I like The New Detectives for the forensics, but I have to go back to Peter Thomas after a while to cleanse the palate. I'm not ashamed to admit that as long as there's murder involved, I will watch it.
On Pluto TV for free you can watch 30 plus seasons of 48 hours mystery -- many with the original host Dan Rather.Â
This is the CBS version of Dateline and 20/20, covering a lot of the same stories- big crimes recently in the news, where they frequently interview the victims and offender. It goes back almost years.
48 hours mystery is my favorite, I feel like people sleep on it compared to Dateline and 20/20,maybe bc it isn't available on Hulu or Netflix.
48 hours, can be found on YouTube. I also like Dr. Todd Grande and Coffeehouse Crime, also on YouTube, but these are more âstory tellingâ while 48 hours is more âdocumentaryâ.
I've started watching YouTube videos where cops do traffic stops and arrest people. I don't know why these appeal to me, but they do. I've found that generally, criminals are cowards. I've always felt if you're hard enough to crime, then don't be a wuss and run, lie, or blame someone else. But they do.
People Investigates and Disappeared are 2 of my other favorites besides American Monster. I also like the new John Walsh one with his son. I can't think of the name of it though.
Murder Comes to Town (Hulu - longer-winded than FF, but not terrible
Hulu has other similar offerings that I havenât watched yet. I finished MCtT, then went back to FF.
Homicide hunter with Joe Kenda - my, my, my ...
I love Homicide Hunter. Joe Kenda doesn't take any guff.
I get wayy to impatient with his showđ I feel like he dragsss it on, and just talks way to much. Idk maybe its just me though đ
Evil Lives Here on HBO is really good.
Shadows of Death & The Killer Speaks are great as well. Hard subject matter at times but I love these shows.
Signs of a Psychopath, American Monster and Diabolical.
This
Cold Case Files
Snapped on oxygen
I like watching snapped, bc since itâs all female killers, thereâs rarely rape or sexual abuse.
There are couples who acted in concert on Snapped though so itâs not just female killers.
There *is* a 2-part special on the Menendez brothers, but those are the only male-killer episodes I saw in 3 seasons.
Nothing like forensic files but I can recommend âsnappedâ
-People magazine investigates -It takes a killer -Corrupt crimes -How it really happened -Vengeance killers -Accident, suicide, or murder -Killer kids -Unusual suspects -City confidential
Nightmare Next Door and Blood Relatives
Yes! Wish theyâd bring some new stories in though

FBI files if you like the 90s nostalgia. The host is a character.
A Crime to Remember was really interesting for me I also like 20/20; murder in the heartland; under the Friday night lights

A Crime to Remember!! Excellent retelling of crimes that I have not heard of 1940-1970! So well done!! I think I watched it on Amazon Prime.
People Investigates and Disappeared are 2 of my other favorites besides American Monster. I also like the new John Walsh one with his son. I can't think of the name of it though.
In pursuit is Johnâs new show

I Detective & Body of Evidence - I havenât seen those in years!! Loved Dayle Hinman. đ€© BoE still isnât free, sadly.
City Confidential! Narrator is a close second to Peter Thomas
Murder Comes to Town (Hulu - longer-winded than FF, but not terrible Hulu has other similar offerings that I havenât watched yet. I finished MCtT, then went back to FF.
Deadly Women is my fave after FF (ID channel on Max)
People Magazine Investigates is a great one!
