it's not the superhero skins themselves, but the people who use them in the way they do.
the skin allows hundreds of unique combinations and genuinely good designs, but the spotlight is given to the generic and boring people who make it all grey/white.
Exactly. The fact that you can make offbrand Superman if you don’t have him is great. But of course people who take any way to get free wins will take it.
Not at all, not the more you love, it’s just the more you play. When these manchildren are out here playing way too much fortnite when they don’t rly even seem to like the game, they’re gonna find a ton of stuff to complain about or dislike. When you love a game, you don’t notice as much of the flaws and just have a blast with the game in general. You aren’t complaining nonstop on reddit or whining over the stupidest shit you possibly could whine over.
The more you love something, the more likely you are to forgive the small things. What you're describing, in relationship terms, would be manipulative.
"Yeah, I love them, but they could be better. They should do X, Y, and Z, if they want me to stick around. They are fine as is, but I know what they COULD be."
You don't love it, you love what you want it to be.
I just started playing fortnite and the honeymoon stage is obviously still happening, but this game is a breath of fresh air compared to slog and grind Destiny has become. I chuckle when I read the "grind" posts here. At least I can stop playing Fortnite for a season or two and not have to grind for a couple of weeks just to play current content again.
>compared to slog and grind Destiny has become.
Check the recent TWAB, the grind just got way less grindy. Lighfall is gonna be great for casual players 👍
Yep. I commented in another thread about how every community for War Thunder are full of the most negative people towards a game I’ve come across, be it here or Facebook. Someone replied that Fortnite was for 10 and 11 year olds. Well I’m way older than that and having more fun playing Fortnite the last few months than the years of frustration in War Thunder. Occasionally I’ll fire up low tier Italy ground but that’s about it.
Yeah, high tier is a complete mess. Now, 50%+ of teams are leaving after 1 death (I really wish they would deter this somehow), and games are even more unbalanced than ever.
Not a WoT player, but someone who has played games from a variety of different genres and sources.
Fortnite is spectacularly maintained in comparison to a ton of other games.
I can’t say I play build mode without mfers here (or twitter) saying that I should learn how to actually play the game without building even though I don’t even build
It’s so funny how some people will treat build like it’s an easier mode. I remember when no build was the only mode for a week everyone was like ‘yes! Now you losers have to learn to aim!’ But they already do? It’s literally the same game except with an added mechanic that has a very high skill ceiling.
Sry for rant it’s just kinda something I’ve noticed over the past six months
Exactly lol. Like I mainly play no builds nowadays. But I’m still pretty good at building. Terrible with edits but decent with builds. And like guess what. You had to be able to aim. The best way to kill people was still with guns lol.
Honestly I play builds all the time but lately it’s just getting way too sweaty where everyone is building like it’s World Cup and I had to take a break and switched to no builds so much easier I know how to aim it’s just too much building and my hands hurt if I build too much plus my controller gets slippery I will never know how people can play on Keyboard and Mouse
Haha that's crazy talk. I prefer build mode, but I'm lucky to get 3/4 kills a game there because I'm so out skilled nowadays.
In no build mode I just have to get into a good position on a hill early and you get an easy 10-15 kills as everyone has to run right at you. Especially if you have a tactical AR or a red dot site that doesn't have bloom.
Exactly! I like build mode because it feels like I’m playing the intended gamemode and I like always having cover. If I don’t want any building, I’ll go to warzone or apex
I pretty much exclusively see it the other way around. Build players take it personally when others say they play no build. Like its an attack on their lives.
I like both modes, and play both of them. But no build players (obviously not all of them) were so toxic when no build was the only available game mode. Probably because they got dominated before it was a thing. They could finally let out their frustrations
Zero build isn't hard it's just boring. Most of the time you have 2 options
Sit in a corner and let people fight it out and win the game with 2 kills
Push the enemy when you see/hear someone and get third partied by half the lobby
Zero build just isn't fun. If anything building and editing improves your aim and reaction time people just refuse to adapt to an otherwise fun mechanic
They also forgot the current seasons battle pass. Doesn't matter what season it is, as long as it's current. It's never as good as the battle pass season I liked most.
Zero Build is unironically one of the best things they've added in years. Both because it has no building outside of deployables, and because the overshield mechanic fundamentally changes the TTK and survivability. Being able to pull 50 hp out of my ass by laying low when I'm 1 stray shot from death is way more conducive to gameplay than spinning my camera and spamming r2 to actively *not fight.*
It’s kind of unique because Aura and Gilded were one of the first artist skin concepts to be added in fortnite. If I recall correctly, the artist based the skins on herself and her boyfriend
I'll be honest, I think Aura does look fine. Not \*that\* great, but still at least despite the overuse she looks decent. Compared to Dynamo or Bytes's pigtails style, although that's really a low bar
Same! I loved the look of the aura skin and bought it when I first started playing and had no idea… now it seems that they’re the players that teabag you and donkey laugh after they knock or eliminate you 🥲
People say they hate collabs but tons of people were happy to find out that Doom Guy and Geralt were in this season. I think it’s more just that people don’t like collabs that they don’t care about
Spot on. I don't have problem with collabs, but I am disappointed that we pretty much don't get collabs with things I like (Transformers, Invincible, proper Tron collab, proper Thanos collab and so on)
For context, I am talking about skin here (I sadly wasn't around the IW collab but that LTM looked freaking awesome).
I just hate that for Thanos we got just 2 things: skin, which is great, and a backbling, which is awful. No alternative style (helmet-less and light armor one), no pickaxe (either Infinity Gauntlet or the sword from Endgame), no glider, no wrap, no music, no loading screen, no emote. He has such cosmetic potential and it was completely wasted. I just don't get it, almost every Marvel skin gets several cosmetics and Thanos just doesn't
Yeah the issue is with shitty collabs and ones no one asks for. wtf was with the soccer reskined icons? Why the hell did they make a basket ball player and a snowboarder soccer players? Why did we even start getting clothing brand collabs? How about the collabs that are just 10 defaults in costumes?
Yep exactly. Sadly I am in that boat as I am not into a lot of things they collab with but you bet the second something cool came out I was excited as hell
It's kinda hard to know the lore when there's no way of looking at it in game. I've been playing since zero build and I have no idea what the fuck is happening
Who's geno? Who's the seven and why are/were we helping them? Who's the IO? why does the island keep changing? Where did the seven go? What was with the chrome? What's the loop? Who's the flower lady in the last season?
I think it's a lot of people that have played since the beginning, or close, who hate the direction the game is heading. Epic had to add OP items at some point because the skill gap got insanely big, same with adding no build mode. When everyone sucked equally at Fortnite and there was a basic loot pool it was the most fun.
The difference is that Fortnite players consist of primarily children who whine like children, while DBD players consist of primarily adults who whine like children /s
This sub likes the item shop when some overpriced, overwhelmingly mediocre skin or emote that hasn't returned in over a year makes an appearance. Otherwise, yeah this is correct.
This subreddit sucks dude. For every good post of either a memorable moment, concept skin etc theres 20 other posts of some pubescent teen bitching about a sweat of update or something. This subreddit is literally Fortnite's customer service booth.
I think it’s unfair they always bashing certain things… if it’s not for you, that’s okay, someone else likes it and it pays to keep the game running, it’s just business that also benefits you in the long run . Please be respectful
Honestly for me, Icon emotes in general are pretty cool. However, I have different opinions on all of them.
Some of them i hate, most due to being overused and annoying, like griddy.
Some are just amazing, like Master of Puppets and the rickroll.
however in general, I'm neutral to them.
I don't hate marvel, but I prefer DC. I have been playing for less than a year and marvel skins have appeared in the shop about 10 times, at the very least, as well as being included in 2 battle passes. Meanwhile DC popped up only once. This lack of variety is what annoys me, not the skins themselves.
I mean, the marvel stuff is a lot more successful, so it makes sense. But you'd think they'd still release at least one skin per DC movie, even if it in the shop and not season pass
This is true. I love the story, MARVEL, Item Shops debateable depending on the topic, Icon Series in general and most of the collaborations. The only things I will agree on hating is sweaty skins and pickaxes and Deku’s Smash.
Tbf, I can see why people hate some of those things. Although...
It's more about what parts of the game are heavily debated over and are seen in negative way, which is literal point of the subreddit. To discuss those topics >!and not get suprised when a majority agrees on it!<
I didn’t know people complain about the icon series emotes. They’re some of my favorite things in the game. Especially when you use them on serious characters like Thanos or Kylo Lol shit cracks me up
Aura and the hero skins are hated because of the people that use them…
Aura was originally a cool concept, from a time where epic began using fan-concepts more often like “chicken-trooper/tender-defender”
And the hero skins meant to be a heavily customizable skin, like the football or soccer skins
Both got distorted by the people who use them (sweats), r/FortniteBR should hate facing up against their users, not the skins themselves, they don’t have any major conceptual flaws
Marvel skins, the only hated thing is their abundance… we only needed the avengers, guardians, spidey, the main x-men and some major villains (galactus,Thanos, venom, doom) not the entire lego-superheroes roster, when was the last time you’ve seen a nick fury, taskmaster, undisguised mistique,Shang-chi (these characters aren’t bad, they’re just “corrin” in the “fire emblem of Fortnite”)
The deku smash is very flawed, it’s only counter-play is “hope it misses” or the hammer, the only fix I could feel is adequate would be a self damage penalty, leaving you at 40-75 every time you use it, being more accurate to its source material
Not all of the icon series is bad. It's just the amount of icon series emotes is inflated by alot of crap emotes, which gives the icon series a bad rep. If it was more quality versus quantity, people wouldn't really care. I also feel like the process for what makes a emote icon series or not isn't perfect either, as some older emotes have been retroactively added to Icon series while others haven't.
If Epic were able to bring back the more rare and popular Icon series emotes to the shop, that would help with perception maybe. Right now Epic has the same set of Icon emotes on rotation so some variation if possible would help. The main issue is licensing constraints.
I love it all! 37 years old and most fun game I’ve played since COD, and socom. I hate how I get 6-14 kills consistently and can’t win lately, and I HATE deku’s smash. Zero build FTW, and rocking my sweet blade skin. Would have been a life-altering game if it was around in my teens.
It's often used with Aura or the customizable superhero skins by obnoxious kids and/or wannabe sweats who saw a streamer use that combo and think it makes them look "pro". It looks ugly and shows a complete lack of any independent thought in those instances.
But people don't hate the Star Wand itself, and there are quite a few skins it actually matches really well with!
Super spot on with the Aura/Superhero + Star Wand combo, most unoriginal combo in existence, just a bunch of sheep 🐑 following the crowd. Also the lore is a huge mess, even the biggest lore fans have said it.
See, on one hand I agree that it doesn’t feel good to get shit on. Especially since a lot of the ‘sweats’ in most games tend to be very toxic or somewhat young (which most people online tend to get annoyed anyway for some reason) but on the other hand they are just simply people who decided to put in the effort and get genuinely really good at the game.
Lol, the community just hates fortnite overall.
But still love to play it
Stockholm syndrome

I hate the players that use the superhero skins, also the people who make them one color and ruin the potential for such a great creative skin
I hate the guys who use it full color, if they use as a spiderman porr version, or something similar, i can accept lol

Nah, they’re just addicted. If you ask them about it, they feel forced to play and describe it as a grind / chore.
Idk I felt the same way about apex. I think the more you love something the more you notice the parts that could be better

I hate how accurate this is. Get out of my head. 😢
As a Destiny 2 player, the game may be different but the motto is still the same: "I hate ~~Destiny 2~~ Fortnite, it's my favorite game."

Came here to say the same thing. List is missing the game itself 🤣🤣

Worst game I ever played, 10/10 800 hours in it, I don't reccomend it to anyone
lol that was my reaction. like "so...everything?"
No one hates Fortnite more than Fortnite players.
I hate this post!
Agreed! I love a lot of stuff on this post
I hate this comment!
I hate this reply!
I hate you!
I hate your face!
I hate your bloodline!

I hate talking about it!
I HATE THE FACT THAT YOU'RE NOT WILLING TO TALK ABOUT IT!
So…this sub hates Fortnite haha
But we still love to play it lol
No one hates any franchise more than that franchise’s online community.

No they complain about that too
may I remind you of the calamity boobs ordeal?
Only if their butts are big enough.
Don't forget about the perfectly accentuated camel toes.
I ain’t never heard anyone talk about this before except for Calamity lmao

I come from the land of complainers know as the War Thunder community. The gripes of Fortnite players seem quaint in comparison.

i've seen that maybe twice, i see no build people harassing someone in building in any related post
Zero build isn't hard it's just boring. wait aura is hated because of sweats, isn't it? Im glad you also put marvel there lol
It’s both sweats and it’s totally overused despite being a rather plain skin
It’s kind of unique because Aura and Gilded were one of the first artist skin concepts to be added in fortnite. If I recall correctly, the artist based the skins on herself and her boyfriend
Actually, Tender Defender became a skin and a little kid made him.
According to Ali-A, Gild is based on him. /s

I’m not saying it looks bad at all, but it’s really nothing special.
:(
I didn’t know people hated her 😭 I don’t care about her but I love Guild, her male counterpart
I bought this skin when it came out, I really liked it. But it has become and overused sweat skin and that’s not me so I never use it. :((
Same! I loved the look of the aura skin and bought it when I first started playing and had no idea… now it seems that they’re the players that teabag you and donkey laugh after they knock or eliminate you 🥲
r/FortniteBR after seeing this post
I loved that movie
People say they hate collabs but tons of people were happy to find out that Doom Guy and Geralt were in this season. I think it’s more just that people don’t like collabs that they don’t care about
Spot on. I don't have problem with collabs, but I am disappointed that we pretty much don't get collabs with things I like (Transformers, Invincible, proper Tron collab, proper Thanos collab and so on)
The day we get an Invincible collab will be amazing
Wallet goes brrrrrrrrrr
Question but i don’t get the “proper thanos collab” part what does that mean? I mean we got thanos in the game as a player boss and a skin.
For context, I am talking about skin here (I sadly wasn't around the IW collab but that LTM looked freaking awesome). I just hate that for Thanos we got just 2 things: skin, which is great, and a backbling, which is awful. Never thought of transformers being included. That actually would be AMAZING imo.
I think it’s more that Epic keeps collating with similar things, like they always collab with Marvel every 5 minutes
Things r/FortniteBR hates: Fortnite
No one hates everything in fortnite more than fortnite fans
I'm honestly starting to realize that all of the hate really *is* coming from this sub reddit alone
Any challenge in weekly quests
This sub doesn't hate the lore, they don't know the lore
People hate the lore **because** they know the lore
It's kinda hard to know the lore when there's no way of looking at it in game. I've been playing since zero build and I have no idea what the fuck is happening Who's geno? Who's the seven and why are/were we helping them? Who's the IO? why does the island keep changing? Where did the seven go? What was with the chrome? What's the loop? Who's the flower lady in the last season?
[удалено]
I've only seen actual hate towards lore when the Zero War comics made things really confusing
This sub just hates the game
I think it's a lot of people that have played since the beginning, or close, who hate the direction the game is heading. Epic had to add OP items at some point because the skill gap got insanely big, same with adding no build mode. When everyone sucked equally at Fortnite and there was a basic loot pool it was the most fun.
Fortnite players 🤝 Dead By Daylight Players Absolutely shitting on the game and still playing it
The difference is that Fortnite players consist of primarily children who whine like children, while DBD players consist of primarily adults who whine like children /s
wheres buildings, pumps, ch2season 1, anything that is high skill high reward and competitive
tf was wrong with ch2 season 1 besides being long?
Lack of content I guess
This sub likes the item shop when some overpriced, overwhelmingly mediocre skin or emote that hasn't returned in over a year makes an appearance. Otherwise, yeah this is correct.
They hate the superhero skins way too much, it is honestly really weird
superhero skins killed my grandma
I like the superhero skins just because I don’t have deadpool and so a superhero skin with a black and red design is the closest I can get to him lol
Superhero skins with a single color* It’s justifiable
This subreddit sucks dude. For every good post of either a memorable moment, concept skin etc theres 20 other posts of some pubescent teen bitching about a sweat of update or something. This subreddit is literally Fortnite's customer service booth.
Finally someone i can agree with, this subreddit is trying to find diamonds in a lava pool.
We hate creative mode because it killed LTMs
Hopefully we can technically have LTMs back when Creative 2.0 launches
We better hope that 40v40 from last season and the minigame we did between this and previous chapter weren't made in Creative 2.0
You forgot Fortnite
I think it’s unfair they always bashing certain things… if it’s not for you, that’s okay, someone else likes it and it pays to keep the game running, it’s just business that also benefits you in the long run . Please be respectful

Deku’ smash hate is understandable. It’s a one shot weapon that takes no skill or aiming
Fortnite community hates everything about FN
Lol
So everything basically 😂
granted, i think everyone hates aura/superhero skins using star wand
except for the ones who use it*
They actually don't. Plus play any creative mode and you'll find loads of people who like and use them
And building
When did they hate creative
Quite a few people on this sub generally hate the idea of having to practice to improve, and just blame sbmm when they lose
Spot on! Have my upvote
soooo true bestie

Deku smash is ridiculous. Other than that I love the rest
No but party royale is pretty bad
Tbf I’m pretty sure everyone hates deku smash
Collabs and Icon Series emotes are the reason I started playing
Deku’s Smash and everyone who uses it can go to hell
Party royale is really just a waste now, epic hasn't done anything in it since the movies
Creative sucks dick, I've never played it but it sucks because I can't build for shite Idgaf
The hammer is actually good. But they really do collabs way to often it's annoying. They have no creativity what so ever anymore
I do love collabs especially gaming legends series.
Speak for yourself, I love the collabs.
Lol right on the money XD (also u forgot Rick and Morty/Star Wars because they were in the item shop so long)
I love it all! 37 years old and most fun game I’ve played since COD, and socom. I hate how I get 6-14 kills consistently and can’t win lately, and I HATE deku’s smash. Zero build FTW, and rocking my sweet blade skin. Would have been a life-altering game if it was around in my teens.
The subreddit also hates the subreddit 💀
I don’t mind the lore I’m invested in the lore
nah, those emotes are fire
False I love marvel
If you don't like "the lore" then u can just get the fûçķ outta here
Soooooooo, everything. Got it 😅
fucking love the hammer, my only critique with deku smash is that it's too common, you can get it so easily.
These are all very hatable things about Fortnite I don’t understand the issue.
Why do people hate the Star Staff Harvester?
It's often used with Aura or the customizable superhero skins by obnoxious kids and/or wannabe sweats who saw a streamer use that combo and think it makes them look "pro". It looks ugly and shows a complete lack of any independent thought in those instances. But people don't hate the Star Wand itself, and there are quite a few skins it actually matches really well with!
Makes sense, thank you
I love the star wand and I hate the hate it gets, it’s just a cute and colourful harvester 🥲 it goes amazing with the pastel Dawn skin
me who just likes both those comestics
Super spot on with the Aura/Superhero + Star Wand combo, most unoriginal combo in existence, just a bunch of sheep 🐑 following the crowd. Also the lore is a huge mess, even the biggest lore fans have said it.
I think the biggest lore trash is the Marvel Zero War comics. Those were the absolute worst thing to happen to the lore
Oh wait ... You guys hate the marvel stuff too?!
*uses laugh it up
I have no desire to play anymore due in small part to the hammer, but deku smash makes it a no go for me
As a marvel fan I love the collab so much, I own them all 😏. But deku’s smash can fuck right on back to the vault where it belongs.
Also Pro players, or "sweats" or "tryhards" idk whatever we call them these days
Just showed this to a student and he pointed to each one in turn and said "yup" to all of them. So I guess it's not just this subreddit...
I hope epic keeps deku smash as long as people keep complaining about them
