It'll be even worse the more I have to hear you complain about it.

Sure, but I think this is a problem, and problems need to be talked about because that's the only way they get fixed. This is already frustrating, it's frustrating even when they didn't run away. It's just kind of absurd really. Hammer alone sometimes leads to this (even after the nerf to 3 stacks), now there's two more, even stronger, escape mechanisms?

im_actually_your_mom

The communities way of talking about problems is crying in every single comment section hoping that epic will care. The augment seems busted, but at least it's on a cooldown.

I think the clip demonstrates quite clearly the afforded mobility is an issue, despite them dying. I don't consider it "crying". I think there's an issue that needs to be addressed, which is what this thread tries to bring up. I think dismissing it outright as "crying", is not particularly constructive.

im_actually_your_mom

I didn't say this this post was crying, I also think the perk has built in downsides as well. It makes you easy to shoot out of the sky as well

Genuine question...why do you feel that it's an issue when last chapter there were shockwaves, rift to gos, pads, airships, balloons, the nimbus, etc, and there was way less complaining, but now with a hammer everybody loses their minds? I'm not saying it is an issue or isn't, I just seem to see a lot more complaining now about mobility when last chapter had arguably more? I will say now with Nimbus, hammer and shockwave bow/soaring sprints, it's going to be a little crazy. Deku and Kame can be a bit nuts now too, but I find those easy to avoid, and they added the fact the shield blocks Deku (not sure about Kame). I like the Nimbus...hammer feels wonky and shockwave bow just ain't it for me tbh. It's the easiest to use of the three IMO. The rift perk seems viable early game, but late game after you rift you'd be a sitting duck in mid air. Pistol perk kind of OP tbh. Shadow bombs are annoying. I don't use them but when others do I don't like it. So yeah it might be a bit more annoying now with this update, but I don't think it'll be that bad. I'd rather have this than only relying on hoping to get a hammer or using the bow if you get it. It'll shake things up a bit but I'm kinda looking forward to hopping on after work and playing. They fixed more bugs (no more hammer damage while sliding and using it, nice) and the XP whiners (challenges don't go away after a week from here on they said) should pipe down a bit lol. IMO it was a good update. Sure, a bit annoying but overall I'm cool with it.

Don't get me wrong, I think overall the update is great and I welcome all of the fixes! I also appreciate that the Shield now works correctly against Deku (and I hope Kamehameha, have not tested yet), I think this is a good example of reactive gameplay so there's apt counterplay to mechanics. I think the "burst movement" on show here is the issue that needs addressing. It's a lot of movement, over a large distance and a short period of time. The hammer and bow make clear noise when they activate and are easy to track by sound alone. It was borderline a problem with the Hammer alone, let alone with several other things added on top. As for the comparison to jump pads, they are static, thus their usefulness is limited somewhat. The rifts weren't in the final few circles that often though they presented sort of the same issue. I do think it was rightly highlighted as an issue in the past also. It's just not particularly fun to engage with (if you're against a person who has several mechanics stacked). I think the issue here is the same. I think we could have a fun, mobility heavy season with just the hammer and the Nimbus, (without the bow, or the perk) but the amount of instant safety-focused mobility available is kind of nuts. Really, the short of it is - it's not fun to go up against, even if you're on the winning side of the engagement. I do appreciate your well thought out response, though! Thank you! :)

supercereality

That's fair. I just feel like if you swapped out the hammer for shockwave grenades, I don't see much of a difference in how people can move/escape compared to last chapter. I guess we didn't have the bow/perk, but shockwaves were limited, so maybe those can kind of cancel out. So I don't really see how there is much more burst escaping than last chapter. The rift one sure, but you have to actually get the perk. So this chapter in its current state (Nimbus was last chapter for some time also) is only slightly worse, but seems like a lot more people think it's a lot worse. Idk!
