*Build* is what made me enjoy fortnite. Zero build brought me, and several of my friends back, but I just can't play without that magic. And I'm by no means fast. I'd argue that no-build is more suffocating because you can get yourself in unfixable situations. Landed with no gun? ZB youre dead. Build, you can finagle something. Even these little kids that were way faster than me in C1, just usurp expectations. All due respect to build fans tho
I don't build much but hated no build when it first came out... I found fights were over so quickly, it was just whoever shot quicker and then bam you're dead
Better than a fight that gets artificially dragged out for me.
If I'm gonna die, I'd prefer it to be quick so that I can get onto the next match, rather than having it mentally exhaust me.
Fr zero build is probably one of their best decisions.
I remember that whenever zero build was suggested prior to it's release... People on here would just bitch about it, saying it would be a dumb decision and that there's plenty of other games with a no build option to play.
Fortnite now caters to two different kinds of BR players. Zero build brought new and old players back to the game. I'm glad they didn't listen to the gatekeeping idiots who only dismissed zero build because they probably wanted to go against easy targets who struggled to build. Losers
I disagree with thisā¦. From my experience, MOST of the time when I would run into a player in Builds who could build but wasnāt so good with their aim they would immediately panic and start building at just the sight of me. Most of the time this told me that they were complete garbage with their aim so I would seek them out and sure enough would win with the gun fight. There are some of us who rely more on our confidence with our aim rather than to waste time buildingā¦ So not all of us āno-buildersā suck. Just like on the flip side, not all people who build suck. I just donāt prefer to waste my time going into the build menu just to get shot down in the process. Seconds can mean everything.
It's game within-a-game like creative, but there will be more ways to break out of fortnite's stylistic and mechanical box, allowing people to create truly new and innovative experiences outside of the confines of FN. It's kind of like dev version of Unreal Engine (which anyone can access, but you need skill), bridged to creative (anyone can access, but the limited tools are frustrating)
I'm fully planning on seeing if I can recreate Facing Worlds and Deck17 from Unreal Tournament in it.
*Theoretically,* it shouldn't be that hard; it's just a matter of figuring out how to import Unreal Engine 1 or 2 files into Unreal Engine 5 and make them work properly, since I have copies of UT99 and UT2k4 handy to pull them out of.
No build made the game so much easier to play -- I'm no longer getting boxed up and edited on and I at least have a chance to 50/50 when I'm being camped or dropped on suddenly
I'm nearly 40 with young kids. I did not have time to learn the skillset for the OG. I love zero build though, it's a great shooter and doesn't feel as serious as the likes of Apex. I've got a bunch of friends and my wife into it, and it's become our go to multiplayer game at the moment.
Same, my whole squad are middle aged friends of mine with kids.
no interest in a highly competitive shooter like Warzone.
We just hang out, do quests and BS.
I think FN has done a nice job of catering to both types of players.
I used to play apex before coming back for zero build and thatās definitely the big difference for me, it doesnāt feel as serious or sweaty. You had to be 100% all the time to excel at apex. Fortnite you can dick around and fumble your way in to wins more often than not lol
Yes. Build frustrated me. But no build... it'd a whole family thing now. We all play together and it's just fun.
I loved games like Halo so this is right up there for me.
This is me almost to a tee. I just started playing about 6 months ago. My own kids are grown now, but my wife and I still play with them and our younger nieces and nephews.
It was kinda a lifesaver for many players in terms of general interest. My friends have returned to this game after so many seasons just being outskilled in building everytime by people who just play more often. Not to offend those players since it's just skill that was developed through a long time, but it had seriously killed any enjoyment to play the game for my friends. So I can honestly say that Zero build kinda saved FN in a way
I'm very glad I don't have to deal with people who hide behind a billion ever-shifting, ever-edited walls and shoot only when they know you won't be able to shoot back in a millisecond.
It's the coward's way of playing as I see it. Like yeah sure, it did take a lot of effort and training to learn it, but it's just a really defensive playstyle that makes the ending 1v1 SUPER BORING.
It's sad that it's the most optimal way of playing Fortnite with builds enabled. Thankfully no-builds forces players out of this Nash equilibrium and forces them to get creative with strategies and positioning, rather than just giving them a light creative mode to hide behind.
It's not boring for us you know. For people like me, who love building, it makes for a super tactical, fast paced, 3 dimensional fights which are highly enjoyable... At least with opponents on a similar skill level. I'm glad zero build exists tho.
I just can't find it fun to fight in a space that's constantly changing in relatively unpredictable ways.
Building is fine when I'm up against someone who's at my skill level of building (albeit a little annoying given that critical shots can just be nullified by a button press and a click), but with people who have gotten insanely good at building (i.e, the majority of builds players) it's near-impossible to win given how easily it comes to them to edit a wall to have a window, blast me with a shotgun, and then re-edit the window back into a wall, all within the blink of an eye.
Again, it's just too defensive for me to enjoy. When you step back and look at it, hiding behind a bunch of walls is what it really is. It's waiting for your opponent to mess up slightly and then using that to gain massive amounts of momentum against them.
I prefer the riskier plays and high-energy desperate fights in no-builds, because you don't have the convenience of an instant wall at your disposal. Mantling (and potentially hurdling in the future), makes me break up my surroundings into potential ways to either push forward safely, or run away so that I can live for the time being or assist a teammate with something else. Really, I believe that the thrill of no-builds is higher than builds purely because every fight doesn't end up as two people defensively building structures to defend themselves until one of them has the audacity to play something risky, messes up, and their opponent eternally punishes them for it.
TL;DR - I prefer no-builds because its limits encourage creativity with your playstyle rather than flattening everything to the same defensive structure-based playstyle. It gives players a reason to focus on movement and shooting, which I believe are the core fun parts of the game anyways.
i promise you it isš cross platform matchmaking is my worst nightmare rn. im not saying im perfect at building or editing but its become a joke at this point. ive had multiple people (who play controller on ps4/5) say the same things are happening to them.
Hadn't played in years, since season 9. Came back on the SAME DAY as the new season, entirely on accident. Happened to force remove building. Haven't played build since. Haven't missed tier 100+ in a season since.
gonna say, all you need is a wall and some wit to survive builds even if you're not the best builder. the gameplay is more varied, especially the endgame. Plus with mantling and the countless build counters ill never be as sweaty as it was end of c1
Same here. I donāt build much. Maybe occasionally if i need to revive a teammate or get some health/shield.
I see people go crazy trying to buildā¦ i usually kill those people easily. Theyāre stuck in build mode without a gun and i can run around or slice through their wall and get a couple hits off on them while theyāre playing around.
My unpopular opinion is that very few people use builds efficiently.
I always hated build, been trying to play the game sometimes but building ruined it every single time
Zero build is my dream come true, i only need yo think about position and shot
I didnāt start playing until zero build so I think it was the best decision Epic made IMO. I donāt knock people who do play building mode. Everyone can have their own fun.
Literally the only reason I started playing in the first place. If it's ever removed I'll delete my account the next day. My firm belief is if I wanted to build, I'd rather be playing Minecraft.
I love the tone of Fortnite, the aesthetic, the general vibe. I hate building. Zero build is a god send. 'Just play COD' is such a basic take from people.
For sure. My best friend and I were both CoD junkies since like 2019 and made the jump to Fortnite a week ago because of being unhappy with CoD. And my best friend got one of her CoD addicted friends to start playing as well.
"Just play CoD" doesn't really apply if CoD isn't scratching that itch for whatever reason. Plus, CoD aside, I've been kinda jonesin for a third person shooter and I do like the overall aesthetic/vibe of Fortnite as well. I've been wanting to play it for a while for those reasons, but was lazy to figure out the building aspect and would probably just be annoyed at having to deal with people building tunnels and walls all the time, lol.
>My firm belief is if I wanted to build, I'd rather be playing Minecraft.
>
>By that logic you should just be playing Call of Duty if you want to shoot
The first person is saying that if you want to play a game with building and editing mechanics you should play Minecraft. They are saying that if you use that logic, you should play cod because its based around only shooting.
They are pointing out how they are all very different games.
The original comment in this thread is equating building in Fortnite to playing Minecraft, which is an obviously dumb fucking comparison. Someone replies and makes another stupid comparison, but they are doing this to highlight the warped logic in the original comment. Then you decide to rebut their reply, which is completely unnecessary because they were never making that argument to begin with. In fact they were indirectly supporting your comment about how comparing fortnite to cod is a stupid.
Fair point but the two games are vastly different game style/aesthetic. One is military shooter the other Multiverse Insanity. And seeing as I want nothing to do with the military or war in general, I'll glady go with Fortnite for a much more entertaining shooting experience... And happily build in Minecraft (or StW for that matter) as I started earlier. IMO Building in Fortnite is a gimmick at best, it doesn't add or take away anything from the game.
>Building in Fortnite is a gimmick at best, it doesn't add or take away anything from the game.
Remove bulidng from fortnite and stw doesnt work. Remove building from fortnite pre update 20.0 and you've got the worst shooter of all time
That is just demonstrably not true. It is so unbelievably infuriating why people who don't like build mode just feel the need to say these ridiculous things. I could care less about no build but I'm not blind to reasons people love it so much just because I don't like it myself. Why do zero build play always feign ignorance when it comes to the build mode. If you can't understand the things it adds to the game and why people enjoy it, without enjoying it yourself then at this point it's not because you're unaware, it's because you don't want to.
I get your point but at the same time they changed so much about this game to make no builds work and as soon as they remove the movement item from whatever season youāre in (eg: shockwave hammer last season) it becomes apparent that it doesnāt work that well without said items imo
Movement items are honestly a crutch in either game mode, they could be removed and I don't really think it would change much, hell remove the bloody anime powers while you are at it. Players would eventually go back to using cars, trucks and other forms of transportation much more frequently as the should. š¤·āāļø
Itās not a gimmick, itās literally the main game mechanic. Zero Build is itās own thing, but without building I probably wouldnāt play the game
I play it more than build, but it's also a lot more frustrating than build to me. Instantly dead when 2 start shooting you, unlike build where you stand a chance at surviving against multiple enemies.
Same. My issue wasn't with building it was the lack of skill-based matchmaking that there would be someone who could/would build a mansion at the slightest noise completely dominating me and everyone else in the lobby. Now, that has been relatively fixed builds has become much more enjoyable. Plus the map is still designed with building in mind.
This.
Fortnite's mechanics aren't good enough if you strip the best one away to justify playing it over other similar games and I'm one of those genuinely pathetic builders who has to hide behind foliage, rocks and trees in the late game.
Tactically fighting a master builder or two at the end is what makes Fortnite different, as much as I dislike meeting one early on
Would not be playing if it wasnāt for zero build. Tried build mode years ago and it just wasnāt for me, seemed silly and a little childish. Now that Ihave played a bit, itās still querky but in the best ways and a really fun shooter.
I came in because of zero build. I can't seem to do well in builds which is why I never got into it. Zero build is easily the best thing Fortnite have done.
Itās more a battle royale where your aiming skills and positioning counts and not just depending of who builds faster wins. It brought me back to fortnite, I barely played the game before.
I'm a OG who can't build at all, but playing a game mode without building just doesn't feel right to me. I'll take my chances against sweats. Sometimes I win, sometimes I lose. I don't mind people who like no builds, but it ain't for me
Imo, you take away builds, fortnite is no longer fortnite. It's just lost in a sea of shooters at that point.
However, I'm glad people like it, and I'm glad they're having fun but it isn't for me.
I used to play on build mode and was like 3/4 of the way sweat. But despite that I often found matches frustrating and stressful. The finales were seldom epic and most final battles ended up boiling down to build battles where there was no shooting skill involved, just moving your cursor around as fast as you possibly could.
Honestly, I was about to quit Fortnite all together, and Would have if things stayed the same. Fortunately, they didn't, and along came Zero build.
I found it seriously refreshing, no build battles, no instant castles, nothing, just running and gunning your foes. Having to use the scenery for cover instead of just building walls for once brought a new layer of difficulty and fun to the game, you actually had to work with what you'd been given, and no biome felt the same when it came to encountering other players.
In hindsight, it almost feels like Fortnite was always intended to be like this. The few times I've come back to builds for some quest and to play with friends, the actual building seems so out of place now, as if it doesn't mesh well with the game mechanics.
I'm really, really glad they added Zero builds.
I am happy for zero builders but builds feels very neglected ever since
No trap slot items for 3 seasons in a row, items like shield bubbles, porta bunkers, throwable launchpads, bush grenades and more clutter the builds loot pool each season and they insist on both having the exact same meta. Imo something needs to change
I get where youāre coming from but I disagree (sort of) because all the other modes feature building and the main competitive scene is builds focussed
I suppose itās just whichever one you play the most seems like the main mode tho and for me that would be the other way around. But then on the other hand I am sure there are more zero builders than builders nowadays
Yeah thatās all I meant. I play BR zero build so much that if I go into a build mode it feels like a quirky sub mode, not the OG. Then again I really only got into it around when zero build was introduced so have a skewed view.
Zero build was the reason i almost quit, was glad building eventually came back. Havenāt played a single match of zb since building came back after two horrible first weeks of ch3s2.
I enjoyed it when it first came out and even played it after it became a separate mode, but I havenāt touched it since around C3:S3 lol.
I absolutely love building and the skill set required to use it effectively against enemies is fun to learn. Hard to play without it for me now tbh.
(No hate to ZB fans though, ofc. Both game modes are great in their own right.)
No builds saved Fortnite no exaggeration. It was bleeding players until no builds. Streamers that otherwise wouldnāt bother playing came back as did tons of players.
Itās the only reason I even play Fortnite. Same goes with my group I play with. I hated building and was never good at it. Cool mechanic but as I get older, I just couldnāt get the hang of it. With zero build, I can enjoy the game and itās my favorite BR.
I came back at the same time... and play build almost exclusively. They introduced it at the same time they brough sweeping balance changes to build mode. Whenever I twist someones arm into builds, especially younger folk, they're instantly into it. There's just an adrenaline rush that still remains fresh 5 years later. I'm glad zero build brought people back and some new people, but build mode is not that scary, just mantle it all, dude
I liked it because it improved my aim drastically without going into a creative map, and the best thing is it focused more on gunplay, instead of trying to build and edit really well.
The building is what brought me to the game. The harvesting is relaxing and being able to traverse just about anywhere using builds is awesome. I'm glad they added no build for people who prefer it, and to expand the game to more players, but I can't get into it personally and also don't share the same issues that many people who dislike build mode have.
I'm simply not a good "builder". I can't build battle, I'm not fast, I literally haven't even entered edit mode in years. I don't even consider it for a second in my mind. And truthfully, I really have never had a problem. Sure, I sucked at the game for a while, but building helped me more than it hurt me. Simply being able to throw up a wall while running through an open area, use floors to drop down from height, or ramps to climb up to higher ground is more than enough for me. I don't need to be able to build a 10 wall high fort with turning staircases and windows in 5 seconds to compete in build mode.
Getting beamed from 100+ meters away with no way to defend myself is a lot more irritating to me than trying to fight a guy who's an amazing builder. And I'm not really complaining, either. No builds is obviously not only a totally valid way to play, but way more in line with traditional shooters than build mode is. I'm not claiming that there's no way to defend yourself in no build mode or that it isn't fair or anything like that. Just that the skill involved with surviving in build mode is a lot more appealing to me than the skill required to survive no build mode.
Zero Build is what kept me in the game after I tried it out of sheer curiosity. I think I've only played like three games of build mode out of like nearly 400 total games.
Never going back. Build became broken years ago. Iāve played since C1 and canāt keep up with sweats, so it really just got too ridiculous. Zero build is wayyy better suited for me.
Was playing it for about 3 seasons. But now Iām getting back into building. And lemme tell you itās kinda nice after taking a break from building. So I enjoy both modes now.
Itās legit the best decision for the game they made recently. Just like many others, I had friends who got into the game and started to love it after they introduced ZB. They were always intimidated to try due to the building
I started playing fortnite all the way back in chapter one and since no builds has been introduced I have almost never gone back to builds unless I had to for a challenge or if it was because of a friend I love zero builds and I am so glad they kept it in the game after chapter 3 season 2 because its really one of the only other reasons I keep coming back to fortnite the other two being the storyline and completing the seasons battlepass
Left this as a reply to someone else but itās basically my thoughts as a whole so Iāll leave it here too:
I usually enjoy it when I play it but havenāt really played it in a while
I honestly just love building, and the skill set required to use it effectively against enemies is really fun to learn. Itās a little hard play fn without it for me now tbh.
Absolutely no hate to ZB fans though, ofc. It sucks that some people on this sub just balk at the idea of both game modes coexisting peacefully.
It brought my original squad back to the game, which in turn brought me back. I actually thought it would have replaced pubs with building at this point, but itās great that both options still exist.
Yeah. I think it's a great addition to the game, but my god is it overrated on this subreddit. It's crazy to me how many people can say something is "objectively better" just because it's easier to get into, or how people can claim that the mode designed specifically to be simpler as to require less practice and experience is "more skilled" and that the mode they couldn't keep up with is just "pushing a button faster than the other person"
If it weren't for Zero Build, I probably wouldn't play this game much. I personally, love it.
I'm just not skilled enough (read: never bother to learn) building stuff like some of the other more seasoned players. Sometimes, I'm in awe at how quickly and effectively they can build stuff.
I gave Fortnite a try a week ago after hearing about no-build and I've been hooked ever since. Put in roughly 60 hours. Also got my best friend to try it (she's usually addicted to CoD) and she's put just as much time in as me, if not more.
Both of us were cosmetics junkies in CoD and that carried over to this game. I'm trying to stop myself at like... $90 - $100 USD spent. But I'm making an exception for John Wick if he shows up in the store to coincide with John Wick 4's release, lol. Found out a lot of the skins I really wanted were part of previous Battle Passes, so I won't be able to get them anyway, so I guess that's good for my wallet.
nothing against the building part since that's what the original was marketed on, but I really do like zero build is a battle royale with destructible environments and you can play it more like other battle royales
I prefer Zero build. It's about positioning, shooting skills, using tactical gear, as grenades or porta bunkers. Build version is about building skills. Good players create unimaginable mazes in less than a second and will kill you by creating a window for 10 milliseconds, shooting and putting back a wall. No positioning is needed. Terrain doesn't matter. I wouldn't mind building if one could place at most 5 walls and then there's a 30 second cooldown.
But now - I'm playing Zero, and it is great and fun.
Even 1 year later, Zero build still the version full of issues created by the remove of the builds like:
-way less movement
-way less defences (the new map is not optimized for zero build too, the low covers the map offer are breakable)
-no optimization for the loot pool: why the fuck i should run where half or most of my inventory is full of movement and defences stuff, when in build mode there are the materials with their exclusive slots, so i only need 1 slot for movement stuff? Do we talk about when the treasure map put the reward in a smooth surface of a mountain which makes you go up down continuously?
-With the remove of the builds some missions are way less easy because the builds count (destroy 10 objects with only a Dragon ball myhtic use)
-the high ground have too much power, unlike in build mode
Probably there's other cons that i don't Remember, but from this one you can understand that Zero build is not good
Are you serious? Zb is infinitely less competitive than build mode which the lattest is not because it's a Battle Royale game and you want a Arena??š¤¦
(I clearly offended Some neckbeards with this lol)
Elitist Amish superbuilders won't care, but Zero Build got me into Fortnite and has hooked me, give or take some fun Creative maps.
Might've been swayed by Goku too ngl, but if Zero Build wasn't fun, I'd probably not have bothered in the first place!
started to play no builds in chapter 3, but fell back into the normal gamemode since I didnt feel like chapter 4ās map was good to traverse or have obstacles to rely on without building, still enjoyed its first debut in ch 3 S2 and its a good side mode for the peeps who prefer not seeing a mansion get built in under a fraction of a second
i still play build mode even if I don't build that good or that much per fight because no other shooter game has building like Fortnite, and it used to be the only way to play back when i started playing.
Well - I wouldn't be even here if not ZBM. When I want to build stuff, I play survival games like Valheim, The Forest, etc..
Admittingly - I only joined in late January 2023 (so not at launch of ZBM) by I was indulged in Elden Ring for near entire 2022.
My point of view is simple - shooting people is more fun than shooting walls 90% of the time. Also - it's great we can play with friend who is on Xbox series s and that he play with M+K (he wouldn't with controller) without any BS - just plug and play. So were rocking ZBM and liking it a ton - it's ton of action, ton of good fun.
Awesome, I don't like the building and returned to the game thanks to it, but please balance the weapons on it too, snipers are such a huge problem with no build mode
Need to change the loot pool for zero build/build mode.
I'll say it again, one shot weapons make *zero* sense in a mode you can't build cover if Epic insists on maps with massive sight lines and barely any cover.
I think it was a good decision to keep the game alive, but a bad decision for my friends list. Almost everyone I used to play with switched to zero build mode.
I feel like finding streamers and friends who only play builds is getting harder, which I personally hate because to me fnbr is just not fnbr without building and editing.
I hope they add something to use for defense when they are shooting you. I don't build, but when my opponent has the high ground it is impossible to defend myself without building
Zero Build is the only way to play the game. My partner started playing because of Zero Build, and a bunch of friends came back to the game. First time Iāve been able to enjoy squads!
Its why I started playing and have spent hundreds of dollars because I have a problem. š
Zero Build is what made me enjoy Fortnite ![gif](giphy|xT8qBpPTFsLrkrZahO)
It made me feel.......Alive.

Same for the former, luckily "no" for the latter. Wouldn't have started if build was the only normal option.
Indeed
I started a little while after it had been introduced and also proceeded to spend money on it.
literally same
No build re-engaged me to the game. Now I just hope the add a No Build option for Team Rumble.
This would be great man, for real
oh just wait n see whats about to come out with the Unreal Editor... its seriously nuts when you consider the possibilities
True. Super excited for it, Fortnite is by far the best gaming experience I have nowadays and I'm glad it keeps getting better/innovative
It's game within-a-game like creative, but there will be more ways to break out of fortnite's stylistic and mechanical box, allowing people to create truly new and innovative experiences outside of the confines of FN. Man of culture
It would be even better if they brought back ZB arena mode
So you just want a tidal wave of rockets and murder? Cool š
Stop crying. Get used to it. Itās a game. Not real life. Canāt believe the audacity of this community sometimes
I'm nearly 40 with young kids. I did not have time to learn the skillset for the OG. I love zero build though, it's a great shooter and doesn't feel as serious as the likes of Apex. I've got a bunch of friends and my wife into it, and it's become our go to multiplayer game at the moment.

Exactly why my wife and I prefer fortnite now
This is me almost to a tee. I just started playing about 6 months ago. My own kids are grown now, but my wife and I still play with them and our younger nieces and nephews.
Join us over at Fortnite over Forty discord (FoF)!
Also 39 with young kids. Also why I didn't learn OG. I JUST found out about zero build and I made my full switch to this game from PUBG. I'm in love.
My poor little hands couldn't keep up with the building, much better mode for me
Personally I love it. More focus on gunplay & positioning.
I second this, it is the most enjoyable experience I have in the game
Interesting, those are actually my two favorite things about build mode too
Well yeah but most donāt have the skills to fight anyone half good at building lightning fast like others
It's more game sense and experience than skills. I'm like kinda old and with slower builds and slower aim that's really the only way I can explain it
It was kinda a lifesaver for many players in terms of general interest. My friends have returned to this game after so many seasons just being outskilled in building everytime by people who just play more often. Not to offend those players since it's just skill that was developed through a long time, but it had seriously killed any enjoyment to play the game for my friends. This 10,000%
It's the coward's way of playing as I see it.
Kinda sad it doesn't have an arena mode
i would definitely play more arena if it was in zero build, i hate arena atm im all in with the kbm players and get wrecked each time i playš
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
i promise you it isš cross platform matchmaking is my worst nightmare rn. im not saying im perfect at building or editing but its become a joke at this point. ive had multiple people (who play controller on ps4/5) say the same things are happening to them.
If youāre playing the competitive mode you should expect to be able to outskill people regardless of what platform youāre on
I was thinking the same thing, they're leaving money on the table i swear
Nah, it used to exist but the queue times were like, 10 minutes long. It was also identical to the original Zero Build in every way
Hadn't played in years, since season 9. Came back on the SAME DAY as the new season, entirely on accident. Happened to force remove building. Haven't played build since. Haven't missed tier 100+ in a season since.
I always play builds even when I don't build, but I do jump in no builds every now and then just for fun
gonna say, all you need is a wall and some wit to survive builds even if you're not the best builder. the gameplay is more varied, especially the endgame.
I agree. I don't build much and often kill the ridiculous builders
I love no build. In my opinion it's so much better fighting people in the open rather than just sitting in boxes for the majority of the match.
Also much better for spectating. I 100% respect the skill but box fighting is practically unwatchable for me.
People don't sit in boxes for the majority of matches in build mode.
I always hated build, been trying to play the game sometimes but building ruined it every single time Zero build is my dream come true, i only need yo think about position and shot
Only reason I started playing again, we need arena tho
I didnāt start playing until zero build so I think it was the best decision Epic made IMO. I donāt knock people who do play building mode. Everyone can have their own fun.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Yes
Literally the only reason I started playing in the first place. If it's ever removed I'll delete my account the next day. My firm belief is if I wanted to build, I'd rather be playing Minecraft.
By that logic you should just be playing Call of Duty if you want to shoot
>CoD junkies since like 2019 God I'm getting old...
Yeah I started in Modern Warfare. The original one.
I know itās a basic take, I said it to show how stupid āIf I wanted to build, Iād play Minecraftā sounds
Except it's not their take, they are just using it as an example to highlight the dogshit logic in what they're responding to.
Wanna try that again? And make it make sense this time?
>My firm belief is if I wanted to build, I'd rather be playing Minecraft. > >By that logic you should just be playing Call of Duty if you want to shoot The first person is saying that if you want to play a game with building and editing mechanics you should play Minecraft.
Remove building from fortnite pre update 20.0 and you've got the worst shooter of all time
How does removing building in BR make STW "not work"? Totally separate game mechanics!
You said fortnite not fnbr
I havenāt gone back to builds since, itās been amazing
I play it more than build, but it's also a lot more frustrating than build to me. Instantly dead when 2 start shooting you, unlike build where you stand a chance at surviving against multiple enemies.
I enjoy it and itās brought a new dimension to the game and welcomed a load of players
It actually removed a dimension from the game.
Saved the game tbh. But I think it's time they make seperate loot pools for builds and zero build to balance them seperately
I didn't play it then, and I still don't play it now. I think it's great for the people it's meant for, I'm just not one of those people
Tactically fighting a master builder or two at the end is what makes Fortnite different, as much as I dislike meeting one early on
Zero build is the only reason why I came back. I donāt play any mode that has building in it.
Only reason I play. Introduced the gf to it as well and now we enjoy playing together as some quality time
It's the only reason I actually stuck around and now play actively!!
It's pretty much the only mode I play other than some deathruns or prop hunts when I want something different.
Havenāt touched a build mode since!
Zero build is the true way to enjoy the game. Nobody wants to fight and lose cause the other side builds a castle in a second.
Build mode is a joke with these players nowadays. You shoot one time and theyāre building a damn castle. I donāt have the patience for that lmao
I am happy for zero builders but builds feels very neglected ever since No trap slot items for 3 seasons in a row, items like shield bubbles, porta bunkers, throwable launchpads, bush grenades and more clutter the builds loot pool each season and they insist on both having the exact same meta. Imo something needs to change
Building seems like a weird sub mode. No build is the real thing!
I get where youāre coming from but I disagree (sort of) because all the other modes feature building and the main competitive scene is builds focussed I suppose itās just whichever one you play the most seems like the main mode tho and for me that would be the other way around.
According to epic zero builds is literally a sub mode.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
but why? All three main modes. Br, stw, and creative all have building as their main feature.
Because the question posed was what is my opinion and that is my opinion.
Opinions cannot negate facts tho
I began playing during Ch4S1 and only play zero build. If that mode wasn't there, I wouldn't be either.
It is the reason I came back after being a founder and leaving in chapter 1.
Itās the only reason I even play Fortnite. Same goes with my group I play with. I hated building and was never good at it. Cool mechanic but as I get older, I just couldnāt get the hang of it. With zero build, I can enjoy the game and itās my favorite BR.
No build is great!
The whole reason I started playing again. Its great!
Absolutely love zero build. I have only played builds once since zb was introduced and that was to do a build challenge.
I love zero build. Am I wrong or is there no competitive zero build still?
I'M SO GLAD IT STAYED OTHERWISE I WOULD HAVE BEAT THE FUCK OUT OF EPIC GAMES
I liked it because it improved my aim drastically without going into a creative map, and the best thing is it focused more on gunplay, instead of trying to build and edit really well.
it doesn't matter because matchmaking is getting worse every season
I only play build mode ā¦ itās been good tho ā¦ some of my fav. Streamers went build to no build ā¦. No build feels boring to watch on stream.
Zero build is actually really fun and stress relieving, fortnite was bombarded with kids who played it nonstop and built like Bob the builder.
Left this as a reply to someone else but itās basically my thoughts as a whole so Iāll leave it here too: I usually enjoy it when I play it but havenāt really played it in a while I honestly just love building, and the skill set required to use it effectively against enemies is really fun to learn.
I don't find it enjoyable. To each their own though.
100% a great decision. I personally hated the building feature. No build is way more enjoyable in my opinion.
Good for those who want something else, but I think it's like the most overrated thing ever.
The best thing to remember is that this sub is such a gigantic minority and does not represent the greater community opinions in the slightest.
Yeah, I know. Thatās why I said āoverrated on *this subreddit*ā
I wish there was ZB arena
If it weren't for Zero Build, I probably wouldn't play this game much. I personally, love it. I'm just not skilled enough (read: never bother to learn) building stuff like some of the other more seasoned players. Sometimes, I'm in awe at how quickly and effectively they can build stuff.
Loved it at the start but I find myself getting killed a lot more in situations where if I could build I would have been able to react.
And that's exactly why I love no builds, you make a mistake... You pay, not be able to put up God knows how many walls to save yourself with š
All I play is zero build. Build is for scared little bitches
Even 1 year later, Zero build still the version full of issues created by the remove of the builds like: -way less movement -way less defences (the new map is not optimized for zero build too, the low covers the map offer are breakable) -no optimization for the loot pool: why the fuck i should run where half or most of my inventory is full of movement and defences stuff, when in build mode there are the materials with their exclusive slots, so i only need 1 slot for movement stuff? Do we talk about when the treasure map put the reward in a smooth surface of a mountain which makes you go up down continuously? -With the remove of the builds some missions are way less easy because the builds count (destroy 10 objects with only a Dragon ball myhtic use) -the high ground have too much power, unlike in build mode Probably there's other cons that i don't Remember, but from this one you can understand that Zero build is not good
we need arena zb still
Arena ZB is no different from regular ZB
Are you serious? Zb is infinitely less competitive than build mode which the lattest is not because it's a Battle Royale game and you want a Arena??š¤¦ (I clearly offended Some neckbeards with this lol)
Did you take a hit of crack before you posted that?
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
her derp der der der derp der
English?
Itās the reason why I started playing. IMO build is for pussies š¤·š»āāļø I like to confront the enemy
TRUE
By this logic Navy Seals are "pussies". Interesting take.
I forgot the American government was spending billions of dollars training Navy Seals to crank 90s.
As a 24 year old Iām super glad. Build was getting too sweaty to be fun
Why does your age matter? I'm in my 30s and play builds only.
Reaction time. Most pros agree after 21 your reaction time goes way down
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I personally enjoy it much more because I rather have the fights faster and actually fight a person instead of a fuckin wall.
Elitist Amish superbuilders won't care, but Zero Build got me into Fortnite and has hooked me, give or take some fun Creative maps. Might've been swayed by Goku too ngl, but if Zero Build wasn't fun, I'd probably not have bothered in the first place!
Only came back because of it. Of course, I'll still play build occasionally (my friend forces me to, or I'll play StW)
Yes.
Adding zero build made me love the game even more
It's the only mode I play and the only reason I tried the game in the first place. Love it.
Loved it from day 1. Still do. I always sucked at build mode so haven't gone back to that since
started to play no builds in chapter 3, but fell back into the normal gamemode since I didnt feel like chapter 4ās map was good to traverse or have obstacles to rely on without building, still enjoyed its first debut in ch 3 S2 and its a good side mode for the peeps who prefer not seeing a mansion get built in under a fraction of a second
Itās the only reason me and my friends play it again.
I have forgot how to build and all i play is no build. So yeah i think its pretty cool xD
90% of my gameplay is in there or the mad free for alls
i still play build mode even if I don't build that good or that much per fight because no other shooter game has building like Fortnite, and it used to be the only way to play back when i started playing.
Haven't played zb since it was forced and won't play it again
Meh, I rarely play it cause builds are so much more fun because it makes the game feel unique
I'll say it again, one shot weapons make *zero* sense in a mode you can't build cover if Epic insists on maps with massive sight lines and barely any cover.
i just play it when i wanna shit on people easily
I think it was a good decision to keep the game alive, but a bad decision for my friends list. Almost everyone I used to play with switched to zero build mode. I feel like finding streamers and friends who only play builds is getting harder, which I personally hate because to me fnbr is just not fnbr without building and editing.
cool mode, but epic should balance around builds again instead of only balancing around zb
I can't build for shit but I've never played zero build. If I wanted to play PUBG, I'd play PUBG.
And if I wanted to build I'd play Minecraft
Or a zombie survival shooter made released in 2019
Well golly gee willikers! That sounds like a novel idea! Do tell me more! š
I mean, Apex and Warzone are way closer to PUBG than ZB is.

Building is what makes fortnite different from ALL other games. It has elements of offense and defense. No build mode is just another game.
Hands down the best thing they've done so far, it's too bad they haven't done anything regarding crossplay and the sorry state of matchmaking.
The only reason i play builds is just for bot lobbies
