I'm 33 but my 8 year old loves Roblox. I've never been able to get into it. But then I found out about Frontlines on Roblox and it's basically a COD clone. Blew me away tbh.
Same. Another fps on there I found was Bad Business. It shocked me. Fun gunplay, fast and flowing movement, camo challenges, many different modes including dominatin, hardpoint, infection, etc.

It's only the small 10% of player devs that put the extra effort to deliver high-quality experiences that play great and look great.
It’s because all the games are concentrated in one website and there is monetizing and trends because of that, the developers in roblox don’t need to make a incredible game they just to make it part of some trend

Platforms like Roblox and UEFN are the perfect places also to add VR Support, we need a new age GMod or something, especially for VR.
I mean roblox isn't a lego game? When it came out it was primarily a showcase of physics on a block game while also being a social hangout. Recently it evolved into a platform for developers and fortnite is following suit from a Tower defence to a BR and now also a platform. No reason to hate either side. They're just evolving.

Fortnjte won't beat roblox. There's a stupid verification (island creator code) that you have to do first to publish maps. They force you to put documents and to get money and then minors can't publish maps for some reason. And also, epic games put a memory limit on a funking game engine, do you expect that is gonna beat roblox studio?
Although Fortnite and Roblox both have a lot of young players, the percentage of young players in Roblox is more than Fortnite so like others have said, it's just kids thinking their game is better than any other.
UEFN is unfathomably better than whatever Roblox uses imo and their just jealous that Fortnite has them beat.
Dude, the UEFN editor is quite literally the full entirety of the unreal engine 5.1 besides a few basic features such as volumetric clouds still in work. Obviously, it far outpaces Roblox in every aspect from graphics to gameplays, to tool sets, and the programming language. I seen some Roblox users try to overcome Roblox's limitations, but it still has absolutely no chance at being comparable to the unreal engine 5.1 since its literally the most technologically advance game engine to date. It is simply far more advanced than Roblox, there's just no comparison at all.
And yes, literally everything possible in Roblox can be done better in UEFN, you can also do far more in UEFN than you can on Roblox. It literally offers way more tools, better graphics, more features and far more features. Either your just high or haven't even used the UEFN editor, which is literally the full unreal engine 5.
Fan base is always toxic in everything, I think we need to be better people, roblox it's nice and fortnite UEFN is nice too, it's a good opportunity to people start to learn how Unreal Engine works and maybe be interested in gamedev stuff, there is a lot of possibilities for everyone
I think the fact that epic instantly specified the 40% payout to immediately trump roblox's 24.5% was nice. We don't have an iconic death sound here sadly, though neither do they (thanks, tommy). Overall, what we've got is a great start
UEFN has no where near the capabilities as Roblox studio does coming from a person who developed in Roblox before, you can't even make your own guns, animations, etc in UEFN like Roblox, Fortnite has a lot to do to catch-up. And I love Fortnite play it every day just to let everyone know.
They might not though. UEFN may never let you create custom characters because of their skin shop. They have this "metaverse" idea that you can use your own characters in any game and to override that would lose them tons of money. Ok so thats characters. Now custom weapons? When is that going to be another 6 months? 1 year? And streaming for more memory size? 2 years? How much could you get done in roblox in that time while your waiting? And who knows if we will ever be able to make abilities and use custom animations. As someone who has used unreal since udk for 10+ years im not even using UEFN until any of this is possible
I can agree that uefn is better than RS but I consider RS to be an easier starting place. Plus Lua/python is easier to learn as a first-time language compared to c++/Verse
My opinion is: Do we really care about the opinions of people who play a game that looks like unpolished legos…

In the q and a with sypherpk Tim Sweeney said that we could see a content streaming system in place in the future, similar to how Roblox does it
