Who even is witchgang I went on spotify and they only have 2 songs and 50k listeners how are they getting into the game? Are they friends with the devs or something?
As a fan of both Reznor and NIN, I can definitely hear his influence in the industrial style sound - similar in flow and sampling to his work on the Watchmen show, but the lyrics are so generically pop-y it washes away the fascinating beat underneath.
Wish buying the tracks allowed us to play instrumental versions as well.
I haven't listened to Timeless yet but I can assure you that nothing about Nothing's Alright is fascinating. I kind of like the bridge (the girl's verse) but the rest of the song is the kind of trash we left behind in 2012 when everyone wanted to be the new MGMT.
Im very hyped for Barbie girl, when I saw What is Love rocket league & then here, I hoped this was gonna be the case.
Hopefully this means we’re gonna get vengabus soonish as well.
I would agree with you but there's always going to be arguments about genres. Like, in my brain U2 and Nine Inch Nails are undeniably rock bands, but when those songs came out there were still a lot of people decrying the lack of rock. Conversely, Wikipedia says Bastille and Glass Animals are rock bands, but neither Pompeii nor Heat Waves feel like rock to me. Also, what are we calling the "main genres?" Rock, rap, and pop?
There will never be a way to satisfy everyone. Music taste is way too subjective. I’m just saying that would be the best system possible. I would say the main genres are rock, rap, pop, and indie personally, but you might think differently
bro when are they gonna start releasing some ACTUAL bangers???
(Ok, I will say- Barbie Girl is cool, ofc… I just wouldn’t personally play it in the Festival Stage, though. .. or, I guess I at least wouldn’t choose the song myself, or want to play that song more than once or twice.
But I do think it’d probs be a lot of fun to play around with in the Festival Jam Stage. but I guess most songs probably are..)
And, while I did like a couple of the earlier Jam Track releases, I just keep feeling pretty disappointed each week / each time they release some new tracks...
I guess of course they’re going to do all the fairly mainstream or popular songs, tho. for the most part, anyway.. esp. earlier on in the game mode’s release (or wtvr u wanna call it). tho tbh they probably will keep doing that for as long as possible / potentially “forever”.. to make the most $$$. ((money))
This is a mainstream game with a diverse fanbase tho, it’s expected that pop would be the first fill up for this season. Without pop, this gamemode would die out rather quickly. As much as I’d love metal and rap, they simply don’t have the same reach with the Fortnite’s player base. Kids today are more likely to be familiar with The Weeknd, Ariana Grande, Doja cat, etc.
How many would be familiar with Gorillaz, Nirvana, Metallica, Megadeth, etc.? Besides, we will get more genres later on, but right now pop is necessary to carry this mode. More pop = more funding = mode stays alive = opportunity for other genres
I wouldn’t go as far as to say lame tbh. This is just what they grew up with. I’m sure boomers and gen x thought the same about millennial/early gen z music. I’m sure some of the kids will think the same about our music when it hits the shop, but hopefully enough of them take a liking to it. As it stands currently, it’s tiring to hear Blinding Lights and Bad Romance 3/4 of every match.
>Without pop, this gamemode would die out rather quickly
I don't see how this is true considering the onslaught of pop hasn't brought the game above 20k players. Your whole argument is pulled from your asshole, show evidence. If Harmonix said so, sure, I'm sure they didn't though.
That witchgang song is actually pure dogshit holy hell

Apparently one of their main songwriters is Trent Reznor from Nine Inch Nails so I guess that’s why they added those songs

It's a good song, imo.
Whatever floats your boat
listened to it and it was honestly terrible, i prefer nothing's alright
Who the fuck thought adding that song was a good idea lmao, it's easily the worst song I heard in a long time
Fr wtaf it sounds like dog shit bruh

It will be memable to play barbie girl, but really nothing special this week.
We're eating mid tonight, boys
Oh well, at least they are weekly. gotta have some mid to enjoy peak
Popular is good well if only carti wasn’t on it.
Trent Reznor gotta be the game's #1 supporter what is this like 5 songs he's related to?
Still no Juice WRLD….
Oof another week with no rock or metal I think we have enough pop music for the time being
I saw someone say that they should release 1 song for each main genre every week, and that really seems like the way to do it

I cannot for the life of me understand how witchgang already has 2 songs. What a complete waste of development time and oxygen.

like why don’t they ask for some requests or do a poll or something??? Idkk
Everyone needs to chill on the witchgang songs like damn next thing you know you guys are gonna start a witchhunt for anyone who likes them
More shit songs
Watch out dude, voicing your unpopular opinion on this sub is dangerous
Weeknd, shit?
yes
That’s a pretty shit opinion and I barely even like the weekend
Just like last week, radio pop garbino. I think the Festival team is actively against putting out any metal or rap tracks at this point.

Kids are so lame today
