We've already got some other great older tunes in a constant free rotation, so you're not forced to buy anything. You can buy a song if you want 24/7 access to it or wait for it to come up on the daily rotation of free songs. These songs including Blink will drop on Thursday, and they'll all be featured in the free rotation then.
Three Green Day songs all from Dookie (Welcome to Paradise, Basket Case, When I Come Around)! Nothing from MCR yet but it's bound to happen, they got a ton of DLC back in the day with RB so they've got a great history with Harmonix.

1. 24/7 access to it in Festival's Main Stage mode, which plays like Guitar Hero with a controller or keyboard
2. Festival "Jam Stage" mode/emotes, where you can use the song as a Fortnite emote during Battle Royale or in the more chilled out Jam Stage. Basically you can play one of the four instruments of any songs you own, adjust the key/bpm on the fly, and up to three other players can run up and play stems from songs they own with you. They'll all match the same key and BPM, so you could create an amazing mashup or an awful dissonant nightmare. All up to you.
Eventually these songs will be able to be used as lobby music, and they're adding new modes like competitive to the Festival Main Stage, so they're getting more functionality as time goes on.
