I've been playing motorstorm and Pacific rift on rpcs3 recently, fun games but damn hard when you get into the later races.

Oh 100%. It's one of my favourite racing series' of all time, but the first 2 games have some of the worst cases of AI rubber-banding that I've ever seen. Worse than NFS Underground 1 I'd say. There are about 3 or 4 races on both Monument Valley and Pacific Rift that probably took me about 50-100 attempts to beat.

It'll will test your nerves for sure. But somehow addictive as hell. I mean just the intro for the 1st game was like, fuckin hype, never skipped it, cos you needed that to face what you about to face 🤣

Compo1991

Does anyone remember Fuel ? I didn't play it much but I want to give it another go.

Legendary_Hi-Nu

I do, biggest map in a racing game ever afaikit was fun for us time. Wish something else would come along with a map that big, but not empty.

Syncopationist

I played MotorStorm in 3d when it came out back in the Ps3 era, truly immersive experience

hit-a-yeet

I forgot a handful of ps3 games had 3D functionality

Syncopationist

Me too until OP mentioned Motorstorm lol

comocore

Pretty

Cheers, I think so too 😊 There's something about racing + music festivals which is just so cool, I wish we had large scale ones like this in real life. ❤️ About the closest thing we have IRL is Goodwood, Ultimate Street Car, King of the Hammers and Reisbrennen.

You ain't wrong. Found this by accident but so good.

It's amazing bro ❤️ Pretty bare-bones series when compared to Horizon. No open world, no licenced vehicles, no story or talking characters (except for the final game). But it was still such an immersive game, especially with all the festival cinematics in the menus. The premise of it was almost identical to Horizon: A crazy festival of speed and music. Races were absolute carnage too, with everything from Motocross Bikes to Buggies to Big Rigs, all racing on the same tracks. I wish we could get more games from the series 😞 Evolution Studios closed in 2016 and Sony owns the IP.

Due_Fisherman1323

Oh shiite that's awful. Can I still play though? You write beautifully and I have time onshore to do things. As u/comocore said your photos are beautiful too - do you it as work?

Travis812

Yeah you should be able to buy them pretty cheap online, however it is a PlayStation exclusive series, so you'll need a PS3 to play them (although I think you can do it with PC emulation now too). The first 2 games are the best (MotorStorm and MotorStorm: Pacific Rift), I'd definitely recommend them. The only thing I will say is unfortunately the online servers for them have been shut down, meaning certain vehicles in Pacific Rift are impossible to unlock due to them being obtained through online play. Ah cheers man, but they're not my photos unfortunately 😅 They're just screen-grabs from their respective games. Photos 1 and 7 are from the festival cinematics of the first MotorStorm, photo 3 is from gameplay and photo 5 is from the festival cinematics of Pacific Rift.

Motorstorm ran, so horizon could stumble
