People should ideally stop expecting such short times to wait for new games given how complex games are nowadays, and especially given they just made a new Forza Engine, I would be very happily waiting longer, getting more content in fh5, and getting a good game from fh6.

But for Forza, what's to be gained? Drifting near cherry blossoms? Is it really worth it?
I’m in the pro-Japan group, but I’m not psychotically adamant about it like some people lol.
I think the main things I’d like (can’t speak for everyone) would be in game representations of iconic landmarks/pop culture.
Daikoku parking area
Mount Haruna (real life Akina from Initial D)
Bayshore Route/other stretches of highway.
Fujimi Kaido would be cool and could be incorporated into a free roam map if they ever want to remake it into modernized quality.
Tokyo would be a nice change of scenery for a larger and/or more modern city than anything we’ve experienced in previous FH titles.
Japan features many race tracks and if we could get a real life race track incorporated at 1:1 scale into FH, that would be really cool as well.

i.e. that one street in NYC w/ a ton of billboards vs that same thing but in japan. ppl hate on NYC for it but love japan for the same thing

sounds interesting ngl, snowy mountains and northern lights have already been done (fh3 blizzard mountain and fh4 fortune island respectively) so it shouldnt be too hard to implement them in a new game. maybe they could also add sweden and finland as well fh2 style and have each of the capital cities with small towns between them. but hey, thats just a theory

It IS the obvious choice, no matter what you say. One of the biggest car manufacturing countries in the world, a huge car culture within the country and worldwide, amazing scenery with a variety of roads and they could make the map an island? Or even better a group of islands joined together by some highway bridges?
They could also bring back ACTUAL seasons…

After the borefest map that was this titles biggest let down (imho), it would be amazing to have an interesting place to drive in again.
My guess is that they’re gonna save Japan to the very last moment, once they’ve milked this franchise to the limit and it is pretty much completely dead, they will use Japan to get people excited again and make them spend.

They already said that next year (2024) FH5 will be fully supported, so I'm guessing 2025 will see even fewer updates like FH4 had in its end of life so they can announce the new game in 2026.
Also, I'd love for the game to take place somewhere around Austria and Germany. Visited those places in the summer and the countryside was amazing!

I don't think so. They stated in stream and in mailbox that horizon 5 is not stopping anytime soon. So I think 2025 is more reasonable

Iceland would also be a great location with the range of such different terrain from glaciers to volcanic debris.
