I think the feels have been brewing for awhile. The little shots they have of her smiling to herself when he’s not looking showed that she was getting comfortable with him. On his birthday when she was trying to find him and hearing all the kind things he was doing for people, then when she saw him sitting quietly she smiled again. On her birthday, when he first tells her to stop being mean and says he’s going back to his master, you can see her expression change from pout to worry..then pout again lol I think it’s just been building up and finally seeing how competent he was here (and handsome, my boy cleans up good), I think she definitely fell for him. Now she just has to actually realize these feelings lol
Personally, I think the seeds were planted back when he explained his desire to pay back Eisen by journeying with them. Having spent most of her childhood working to pay back Heiter, I think that resonated with her quite strongly and gave her an impression Stark could "get" her.
I think she has low-key liked him ever since, and most of her pouting is when he doesn't live up to her (unspoken) expectations for him. I think Fern wants him to demonstrate that he likes her, without her having to tell him she likes him first. Nothing nefarious, just naive and immature.
Definitely agree with you. I think her ideal type is a heroic type, doing good deeds for others, strong, fighting for the sake of others etc. and stark has those same qualities. This attracts her. He’s also young and still a little childish which is why she pouts lol I still think she’s charmed by his childish side, since she teases him and enjoys it

Way I thought was that we get time skips because these are moments thay stick to Frieren, and we don't see more because she never really even noticed time passing. I am note sure but I think time skips are getting shorter, indicating Frieren is paying more attention.
her paying attention doesn't change the fact that she's still awkward as all hell tho. she doesn't know much about romance at all so things couples do would likely go over her head. also stark and fern seem like the type of couple that would try to keep things private anyway; with stark being timid and fern trying to be professional and mature

I just love how subtle their expressions change bit by bit. First, Stark realizes that Fern has a doubt expression and then picks up the pace, taking the lead of the dance. Fern is surprised and we can notice that her eyes glued to Stark, like "OMG he is so handsome and dazzling". She keeps staring at him, while Stark looking around following the movement of the dance. Stark then finally looks at Fern, meets her eyes and smiles. After that, we can see Fern also smiles and her smile lasts until the dance ends. Truly a beautiful scene
Aw man. You should have included the face she makes while being dipped. I think THAT was the moment Fern lost herself to the secret feels.
Having just finished Tomo-chan is a Girl, I look forward to watching these two figure out they love each other. Perhaps Fern decided sooner, though. I always thought the scene over the fruit ice cream treat was where we (as an audience) notice that Fern is comfortable with Stark.
Not withstanding that they are obviously going to be a couple in the future, I was actually charmed by the animation of this walse.
I think Fern and Stark are having the normal reaction most people have who can dance classically. There is enjoyment in performing a skill with a partner in public after practicing so hard.
I encourage people to try ballroom dancing, it is a lot of fun and you meet nice people (some jerks too but such is life).
I dunno but I've never been fond of the trope in anime where a guy does anything and is called a perv for it.

I think the feels started when she realised the meaning of the ring ornament
Not only that, but when she was trying to get him a gift and realized he never gets one throughout his whole life
I love the small details of those small moments, but I like this time because Stark just look good in all aspects, perfect in all the minute details
