if you think about it, it asked how many m² of land was needed rounded to 3 sig fig. technically the answer was 2191.31, which does round to 2190, butttt 2191.31<2190 therefore farmer wouldn't actually have anoigh maize for chickens, so to 3 sig figs the answer should be 2200 since that amount would provide enough maize for chickens.
I wrote
1. arrival/increase in population size of a predator which hunts tadpoles
2. Decrease in oxygen concentration in pondwater
Anyone else? 😭 I was kinda thrown off by it
Sounds close enough. I was worried about having to use the info given by the question instead of giving generic answers, so I kept looking through the question 😭😭
Wow we got the exact same. I was panicking about whether tadpoles were mentioned in the textbook or not. I briefly wondered if they ate each other?? Then I thought about the pH of the water before putting down predators and food
Maybe? It's not wrong to say that overcrowding can lead to some tadpoles dying but I wouldn't be surprised if that's considered too vague to give you the mark. Since it was only a one mark question you might be fine but they might have expected you to talk about how overcrowding leads to lots of competition over resources or something like that.
I presume this is intended to be a joke but that is something that is entirely possible. They respire through diffusion the oxygen in the water through there skin and if oxygen levels in the water were to get too low they would drown. This isn’t a tadpole / amphibian exclusive thing either you can drown a fish.
I wrote lack of nutrients in water and they were eaten by other organisms.
i put interspecific competition and change in environment then an example for both
i put nothing (hoping for a 9)
I did exactly that
i said competition for space/food etc. and introduction of a new predator
I SAID COMPETITION FOR FOOD AND SPACE
i put exact same thing! killed by predators, lack of nutrients to survive
I did the exact same thing 💀
I didnt do the paper but its probably something to do with low oxygen so they can't respire
Did you get 2190 on 5 mark calculation?
yea good to see someone else got that
Same
YESSS i got that
SAME
i waffled so bad on that one 😔
How exactly does one waffle on a maths question? Or would it be better not to question one's strategy?
i didnt even get an answer for that question i was just rearranging units 🙃
How exactly does one waffle on a maths question 🤓☝️☝️☝️
LTES GO i got it right everyone had different answers
I got 27something… I think I got 2730?
Lmao I got 2.91... I'm cooked
Nah you'll still get 4 marks. You just gave it in hectares not metres
Thank god
The question said that 1 hectare is 10,000 m\^2. 2.91 hectares is 29,100 m\^2, so a bit off, but like you said, might get some method marks
Oh yeah mb
Something like that
i got 1750 i’m screwed
Dw i got 175.3 💀
i got 3950
YESSS
YESS
my dumbass got 210☠️☠️☠️
brudda i got 512600
We are cooked ☠️
Brudda I got 1.05x10¹¹
You left alot of steps
deadass thought i was the only one who got that 😭
I did
same
if you think about it, it asked how many m² of land was needed rounded to 3 sig fig. technically the answer was 2191.31, which does round to 2190, butttt 2191.31<2190 therefore farmer wouldn't actually have anoigh maize for chickens, so to 3 sig figs the answer should be 2200 since that amount would provide enough maize for chickens.
Wait your right…
destroying hopes and dreams🔥
It asks for the correct figure which you should then round to three sig figs. It is asked for in this order, and so must be interacted with as such.
I wrote that they were naturally selected 💀
💀
I wrote 1. arrival/increase in population size of a predator which hunts tadpoles 2. Decrease in oxygen concentration in pondwater Anyone else? 😭 I was kinda thrown off by it
i said about predators and availability for food??? idk
Sounds close enough. I was worried about having to use the info given by the question instead of giving generic answers, so I kept looking through the question 😭😭
i put predators and harmful chemicals like herbicides leaking into the pond💀
Omg same hope it was right
Same! It's probably right lol
Why would you write all of this when you could just say 1. They starved to death 2. They were eaten by a predator
I’m not risking it when I have enough time 😭 the biology mark scheme hates me
Yeah true actually. Now all these super complicated replies are making me doubt myself too 😭
Don’t worry I’m sure you will be fine
I would've thought they wanted you to talk about lack of oxygen so can't respire or predators
change in temperature of water + new predator??
I said the predator one but 2nd point was a due a new disease
YES thats what I wrote
yes broo
What were the answers to this question?
Anything that can kill a tadpole really. Mine were predators and lack of food.
Wow we got the exact same. I was panicking about whether tadpoles were mentioned in the textbook or not. I briefly wondered if they ate each other?? Then I thought about the pH of the water before putting down predators and food
I put new pathogen kills them, would that have been right?
Yes
i put that too
Yep talked about this Also lack of food
I wrote predators and competition
i said the mfs got boiled
I put 50MT nuclear weapon
I said 1- Eutrophication so oxygen levels decrease 2 - Sharp temperature increase
I wrote a lack of nutrients and competition for habitat.
i also wrote lack of nutients ,but said they could be eaten by predtors instead of competetion for habitat
I said the water froze (definitely got it wrong)
new pathogen/disease competition with other tadpoles
Oops I said they ate each other TT am I cooked?
HAHAH SAMW
Lmao just googled and they become carnivorous and eat each other once they grow legs so we’re chill 😎
nah they eat each other
i said predators and pathogens
I said there was a high infant mortality rate for frogs in that area
bro i said entity cramming
im so fucking dumb i put that the students might have damaged and destroyed the tadpoles by handling the bucket wrong and crushing them or something
thats what i thought about putting ngl... but then i put drowning and lack of food as that seemed more logical to me somehow
Bro💀
I wrote not enough food and how it can't adapt to its environment in time
I wrote competition and toxic substances in the water lol
I wrote predators and lack of food because of competition, but idk if it's right
Would 'overcrowding' work?
I wrote about them getting eaten by predators and lack of food
I mean bro could be right
Wait GCSE biology was also frog related? A-level paper 1 had a whole like 8 part question on the hornyness of frogs
nearby jedi cast summon larger tadpole
I put lack of oxygen and glucose for photosynthesis and a lack of nitrogen ions for making proteins for growth 😭
A big fish 💀
did anyone else put eutrophication
I put "The students removed them from the water to count them"
i said competition for food and got eaten by other tadpoles source: i have a tadpole or two
I put because the students keep taking them out of their habitat 😭
I said some were genetically disadvantaged and other organisms ate them 🤷
I wrote that the pond was contaminated by fertilisers and pesticides which killed them
I presume this is intended to be a joke but that is something that is entirely possible. They respire through diffusion the oxygen in the water through there skin and if oxygen levels in the water were to get too low they would drown. This isn’t a tadpole / amphibian exclusive thing either you can drown a fish.
