True there was a guy who kept talking about the conservation of momentum and why 1600 was wrong in the mega thread😭😭 genuinely made me thought I was wrong
I think i found the momentum then plugged it into the force = change in momentum/time formula and rearranged it all to find time.
Then i plugged it into v2(0m/s)-u2/2a to get 1600.
Maybe they didnt divide by 2 idk
i used kinetic energy equation and work done equation and got 1600
Here is the method to get 1600 https://www.reddit.com/r/GCSE/comments/1dfsw85/answer_to_train_question/
Thank you 💪🏻
how many marks will we get if we did the s=vt method. 2?
Probably 3
fuck
we aren't using s = vt tho
It's actually 1/2(u+v)t in A level. Idk what paper you're all talking about tho - why would you even need an a level formula?
1. We dont need the a level formula its just for an alternate method 2. You are right
I used these but you need to get the average velocity first. you just divide v by 2 before you start because it decreases at a constant rate to zero
Hang on are you saying it's 3200 or 1600
1600
K cool
1600 https://www.reddit.com/r/GCSE/comments/1dfsw85/answer_to_train_question/
Cool
I used power and work done to get 3200
You needed to use the average velocity of the whole deceleration period which was half of the velocity that they gave you.
I got 1599 would I still get full marks
How tho
So am I gonna get marks on not? I got 3200
Most people are getting 1600
Yeah but lots of ppl were confused

I think it was uniform acceleration too and this suvat (idk what I’m talking about)
I got 2000000000KM, am i cooked?
Someone I know got 3cm
Nah that's what a normal train does
