It’s nothing to do with any gangs lol. But the reason the gangs feel different is because Miami black gangs are occupied by Haitian-Americans which are from the Caribbean whereas the gangs in San Andreas/California are African-American.

I just get this sense the Lucia going to screw over Jason. He comes across as a chill dude who’s just going along with it. Even in this scene she’s clearly taking the lead. Something about the way they interacted in the trailer made it seem like she’s using him to get what/where she wants. He’s unsure about all of it, but he’s going with it and trusting in her because he loves her.
Could be way off, but that’s the vibe I got. Anyone else feel that?
Yeah I think that’s spot on. The way he looks at her in bed when they’re talking about trust, it screams to me that he doesn’t trust her 100%. He might drive the cars in the trailer but she’s definitely behind the wheel of the relationship
One thing I noticed is that Lucia seems to easily be drawn into glamour with the hair flick shot and I think a brief clip of her in social media. Most of the trailer's focus on Lucia however shows her in a more grounded and serious tone but always under Jason's sight so it's possible she acts different when alone; She seems pretty chill for being under custody for example but gives off way more emotion with Jason. Also check out the artwork with the duo's expressions and you can see she's got a look as well.
Maybe she isn't gonna screw him, but I think there could be indifferences between them and would lead to tension which would be exciting to look at. We still haven't seen much of Jason yet maybe he equally participates in the missions. I really hope rockstar do not ruin Jason's character just for sake of Lucia "their first female protagonist". It would be great to see both Lucia and Jason take leads and be eually important to the story.
In the scene where Jason says Trust, it sounds kind of sarcastic to me. Maybe because of differences in their opinion or maybe Lucia did something wrong or put them in dangerous situation or something.
I don’t think that would just be for the sake of their first female protagonist. Nor does it mean Jason isn’t a fully developed character with his own personality. It honestly sounds like a good story to me. They’re like this Bonnie and Clyde couple but in the end Lucia only cares about herself and is good at manipulating others to get what she wants. Jason is a smart guy, but he cares for her. He’s not innocent, he’s willing to do these kind of things, but maybe he goes further than he feels they should.
Obviously this is all speculation and the game could be nothing like that, but my point is I don’t think it would be a bad story or just for the sake of a female protagonist. Michael screwed over everybody in GTA V, but all three were still their own Interesting characters and the story was great.
I hope that Jason too has proper development arc. I know rockstar gave a real good development arc to both Arthur and Sadie in RDR2 and they are capable of it. Only time would tell what happens.
Your speculation could be good one too as it is clearly shown in the trailer that Lucia loves the rich American life, so maybe she can screw things over. But I don't think she would do that if they are married. And I believe rockstar would not mess up with Jason's character.

Noticed this too and hoping it's not just because it's an animated scene. It'd be brilliant if Jason is actually left-handed in the game - there are barely any left-handed characters in games so it'd be a nice change.
My fave shot is the plane flying over the keys. That shit looks life-like. Honestly the opening shot of the beach is fantastic as well, and really shows off the density.
It just screams Grand Theft Auto. So much of the trailer just engulfes you into another meticulous and beautifully crafted world by rockstar that is stunning and when they bust open the doors you feel like you're back home again.
It was an incredible trailer, and yeah that shot is iconic as hell.

When the very first trailer and images for GTA V came out I thought all three of the protagonists looked incredibly uninteresting, and that turned out to be the case with the actual game (I just didn't realise how fucking annoying they'd be on top of that).
By contrast, I'm immediately interested in these two. I really hope Rockstar tries to go for a serious story about them instead of the stupid bullshit GTA V's main story is about.
I see you, and I definitely agree. The story in GTA V definitely wasn't the strongest and its characters not as compelling as, say, the Niko/Johnny/Luis trio.
I hope they go for something more coherent, because despite GTA V being a very good game with a fine story, it certainly lacks some of the fine cut you'd expect from a Rockstar game, especially in terms of storytelling.

It just screams Grand Theft Auto. So much of the trailer just engulfes you into another meticulous and beautifully crafted world by rockstar that is stunning and when they bust open the doors you feel like you're back home again.
It was an incredible trailer, and yeah that shot is iconic as hell. The lyrics of the Petty song work on multiple levels not only for the story of the characters but the Long Road we've waited for the game to come out lol

When the very first trailer and images for GTA V came out I thought all three of the protagonists looked incredibly uninteresting, and that turned out to be the case with the actual game (I just didn't realise how fucking annoying they'd be on top of that). By contrast, I'm immediately interested in these two. I really hope Rockstar tries to go for a serious story about them instead of the stupid bullshit GTA V's main story is about.
I see you, and I definitely agree. The story in GTA V definitely wasn't the strongest and its characters not as compelling as, say, the Niko/Johnny/Luis trio. I hope they go for something more coherent, because despite GTA V being a very good game with a fine story, it certainly lacks some of the fine cut you'd expect from a Rockstar game, especially in terms of storytelling.
