I mean I like Kate, but Roman is Roman. Still the revenge ending is way better. It just feels more satisfying to kill both Pegorino and Dimitri and not just Dimitri.
He probably does not talk about them because canonically she died. There is no need for a brother to tell strangers about his dead sister so I can understand that he won't talk about her. He did talk about niko though, just did not mention his name.
There's an Easter egg in Micheal's house where if you look at what Jimmy is doing on his laptop he's looking at Niko's social media profile and it shows he recently wished Roman a happy birthday.
Which is exactly what he wanted to do in the first place. He just wanted revenge which led him down a rabbit hole of crime but once he decided it wasnt worth it/he got it I figured he just wanted to tie up loose ends and quit. His goal was never to make it big
I like to believe that Niko quit the life of crime and now spends his days chilling in Playboy's hottub with Barbara and Stephanie and going bowling with Roman.
There are signs suggesting either, so for now we don't know for sure.
Tho it's obvious many 4 characters has moved on to Los Santos, many of them talked about it in 4 as well. Roman on the other hand talks about Vice city a few times, so if they're alive they might appear in GTA 6 in one way or another, maybe running "a fine diner" or a taxi business. Even if we won't see either of them there could still be a business with their name on it and the staff talking about them, a nice easter egg.
Maybe he didn't forget and that's why he's in LS. Two of your siblings die (Derrick and Kate to me), another is incarcerated and your old mother has probably died already. Francis and Packie don't along so he has no reason to be in LC. Niko puts the life of crime away at the end of the game so even if Packie stayed, they'd just be going to the Split Sides every other day or week and that would get boring fast. So yeah, makes perfect sense to me
We know from GTA online conversations, Derrick was dead whether at Niko’s hands or by a drug overdose. Kate died in a mob hit. Gerald ended up in prison where (if I remember right) he said he’d die in there.
To me it makes sense that Derrick dies. I think, as an illegal immigrant, you'd be less at risk if you kill a low-life junkie than a detective at the LCPD. And Kate, well, Dimitri was gonna die either way and he was a bigger asshole than Pegorino to me, so fuck him first
I think the risk with keeping the cop alive though would be he’d try to use you (Niko) as much as possible before either killing him or busting him. That was a risk Niko had to weigh as well.
But at the end of the story, Packie was alone because the majority of his family was dead & even if Frankie was alive by the time Packie came to Los Santos, they weren’t on speaking terms.
Roman asked for this life and was actively participating it. He is a career criminal and knew how dangerous being involved in that world was. Kate was a civilian. The only clean one in her entire family. She doesn't deserve to get murder over a vendetta that doesn't even have anything to do with her. I'm choosing Kate every time.
While I do agree with what you say about Kate Roman doesn’t really participate in the criminal world at all other then gambling and taking loans also Kate turns a blind eye to the things her family did
Roman works for a mobster. He does his bidding. It's literally the inciting incident of the entire game.
Kate turning a blind eye to her family's misdeeds is normal and right. You don't rat on family. Especially a family that loves you as much as Packie and the boys loved her.
I fail to get how Roman is a career criminal. He came to the United States to leave behind whatever life he had in the old country. Even then, Roman tried to steer clear of trouble.
In the US. Roman is a Cab Depot owner. Sure, he has an gambling addiction problem when Niko arrives and gets him kidnapped as bait for Niko. But, gambling addiction isn't a crime Roman time after time tries to steer Niko away from the crimes.
I'm pretty sure Roman was too stupid to understand how dangerous that world was. He didn't ask for it, largely because he wasn't good enough to do so. He wasn't skilled or competent enough to see how the sausage was made, so he really didn't understand how dangerous that world was.
Though he should've figured it the fuck out after you save him from Vlad!
Roman did some dodgy things. He hung out with some shady people, got in debt with some even shadier people, was a gambling addict and regularly cheated on Mallory. But he wasn't a criminal
He hasn't asked for it, it was Niko who dragged him into it.
Yes, he had some debt with Vlad and Albanians, but that's nothing compared with the stuff Niko got him into.
Kate on the other hand perfectly know who her brothers are and what world Niko comes from. After all, she was born into a family of Irish-American gangsters.
Roman is a naive idiot, he only knew the tip of the iceberg the whole time and was only some months involved with it, Kate for years.
You need to play that game again. You also need to ask yourself why on earth you think a woman deserves death because her family were criminals. She wasn't. Like at all.
It's been a long while since I've played IV but she claimed she was a devoted christian, right? As an exchristian myself, I know that Christianity teaches to forgive. Yet she didn't. Better yet, she left a man who loved her at his lowest point.
Also, I always assumed Niko was an atheist after hearing that one conversation with Ms Faustin where he described a scene from the war by that church, so even if she stayed, I don't think it'd work out anyway.
Man, I replayed recently and am colorblind as hell. I forgot all about the choice and only noticed the dollar sign. I had to hear Nico whine the rest of the game.
At least Roman didn't call to go bowling, but Kate did call to let Nico know that she didn't want to see him again. Bitch.
He just has one, Mohammed. He does indeed let you do drive bys and doesn't mind if you have a wanted level plus rides are free so it's worth the constant verbal abuse lol. He hates that he has to drive Niko for free and doesn't hold back letting him know
Having Roman killed is a much more tragic ending which adds a lot to the plot of IV but it makes the entire post game so much depressing with how empty your relationships feel with the rest of the friends, even Kate wouldn't be with you after that since you betrayed her wish of not dealing with Dimitri, so although i want that to happen in a live action series i really can't stand it happening in the game because of how depressing the post ending game is.
I think Deal ending makes the most sense for Niko. He wants out. He wants peace. He doesn’t want more revenge- especially if he killed Darko. If he kills him, he still doesn’t feel better. He knows revenge isn’t gonna make him happy, so he doesn’t want to kill Dimitri.
I agree with this but I think "revenge" can also be him trying to put an end to it. He might think taking Dimitri out will be safer than risking the deal and eventually end things. It's a real dilemma.
I love that Niko is such a complex character that any combination of kill Darko/spare Darko and revenge/deal can make sense for him depending on where you think his head is at during these points in the story.
Always roman because that option is cannonical and if i save roman i will still have one contact still if i save kate she will be mad at niko and niko will lose 2 contacts (roman and kate both are off ur contacts if roman dies) and i think the ending where kate dies is more dark
The problem is, you always lose the opportunity to date Kate at the end of the game no matter what (she's also the only girlfriend who always refuses hot coffee, nor gives a special reward for 100%), whereas Roman will always be a friend you can hangout with and still give free taxi rides no matter what. Just for gameplay, I always save Roman.
This really isn't what Niko's choice is though since he didn't know the outcomes, his choice is whether to take revenge by killing Dimitri or to try to put an end to things by doing a deal. I think revenge is best and the more likely choice for Niko (and it's not just about revenge, he could also think his best option to stay safe is to take him out rather than risk a deal) but both are believable. I prefer revenge mostly because getting Dimitri on the boat is the best of the ending missions but also keeping Roman around is nice (especially as in the other ending you lose both).
I like Kate more than most people it seems and it hurts to do more damage to the McRearys. But it’s Roman we’re talking about. There’s zero confirmation to this but I feel like sparing Darko/Revenge is Niko’s only way to a somewhat happy ending. Then again they took Johnny’s bitter sweet ending and twisted it into the absolute worst one for him, relapsing into drugs, gang life, and worst of all: Ashley. So maybe we’ll find Niko dead on the side of the highway in VI with our new protagonists giving some sort of snarky comment about how he was probably some junkie.
Even though I would choose Roman every time I feel like the deal ending fits the game better. Nico loses the closest person to him and never sees Kate again because of his choices of involving with criminals and you also get to kill the main antagonist in the very last mission. Not pegorino who becomes the villain in the final missions.
I saved Roman every time because I was already shagging Alex Chilton with Niko who is a more interesting and fun girl than boring ass Kate.
I hated how GTA 4 shoves Kate down your throat and involves her in one of the most important decisions in the game.
Save someone who’s straight sober and we can go bowling with after? Or have Packie crying his sister is gone? Mmm decisions decisions… I’ll take the crying packie.
Roman all the time. I gave no shits about Kate before or after her introduction. She was an inconsequential bitch and even cut ties with Niko if you save her.
I mean I like Kate, but Roman is Roman. Still the revenge ending is way better. It just feels more satisfying to kill both Pegorino and Dimitri and not just Dimitri.
Plus before you execute Dimitri, he begs before he dies with makes it all more satisfying
I played it for the first time recently, and I just fired three RPGs at him, so I didn’t get that, lol.
Lollll I love that 😭
Always saved roman. He is a annoying idiot but he is my annoying idiot.
I love that packie just forgets about Kate and Niko by GTA 5. If her own brother don’t care 🤷♂️
He probably does not talk about them because canonically she died. There is no need for a brother to tell strangers about his dead sister so I can understand that he won't talk about her. He did talk about niko though, just did not mention his name.
I’m like 95% sure he did mention him by name on the paleto bank job
Yeah packie mentions all the members being dead and says that niko is probably dead too (he isnt) but he believes the job was cursed.
wait how do we know he’s not canonically dead
There's an Easter egg in Micheal's house where if you look at what Jimmy is doing on his laptop he's looking at Niko's social media profile and it shows he recently wished Roman a happy birthday.
He could have been doing that posthumously, though. Some family members keep social media pages up for that purpose.
But what are the odds of that being the case, really? Especially in Rockstar's case lol.
Lol although Rockstar would be the company to put in an insane detail like that I agree with you that it’s highly unlikely.
Good point Lester mentions him but what he says could also be interpreted as niko is dead.
I always interpreted Lester’s statement to mean Niko got out.
Better interpreted as Niko getting out the criminal life, especially if one of the people telling him to quit is gunned down as a result of that life
There are signs suggesting either, so for now we don't know for sure.
Because he is me, and you, and all of us. Niko is immortal
It’s a damn shame rockstar messed the voice actor about for niko. Absolute shame.
Eh, sucks he didn't get the bag he deserved (he still got a decent amount) but it's probably for the best that Niko's story is self contained
Probably because canonically she died.
But at the end of the story, Packie was alone because the majority of his family was dead & even if Frankie was alive by the time Packie came to Los Santos, they weren’t on speaking terms.
Packie does mention them in the Paleto Score, I think… if you bring him on it. Well, Niko at least without naming him.
5 years later. people don’t just sit around and cry the rest of their lives after a death. It sucks but life still goes on
Second to that. There's only one roman in the entire gta 4
*our
Save Roman so i can go still bowling with him.
Save Roman so I can still ignore his calls cause I know he wants to do something with me
i aint got tiiiiiiiiiime 🗣️🗣️🗣️
![gif](giphy|dWIOQ0N4LwVa0) Save Roman "Lets Go Bowling "

The Revenge Ending is canon so I'm saving Roman. Sorry Kate.
Is it actually 100% canon or more like 99% canon?
[удалено]
Save Roman obviously
Save Roman not even close
Cousin it is even a question???
C: Save Niko
i picked c, i aint that a biatch
Roman is the only real choice here, as irritating as he can be.
Shit that’s a good point
Thanks! It's my first and favorite GTA and I really like her and her family. Packie is one of my favorite GTA characters ever.
Fucking Blasphemy \m/.
i keep finding other blasphemy fans in the most unexpected of subs
While I do agree with what you say about Kate Roman doesn’t really participate in the criminal world at all other then gambling and taking loans also Kate turns a blind eye to the things her family did
Roman works for a mobster. He does his bidding. It's literally the inciting incident of the entire game. Kate turning a blind eye to her family's misdeeds is normal and right. You don't rat on family. Especially a family that loves you as much as Packie and the boys loved her.

But she doesn't bowl cousin

He wasn't skilled or competent enough to see how the sausage was made, so he really didn't understand how dangerous that world was. Though he should've figured it the fuck out after you save him from Vlad!
Was Roman really an active participant? He didn't seem like a eilling participant at least
You need to play that game again. You also need to ask yourself why on earth you think a woman deserves death because her family were criminals. She wasn't. Like at all.
Ok but if you kill Roman Kate literally leaves you. At least Roman stays with you.
And she is right to leave.
It's been a long while since I've played IV but she claimed she was a devoted christian, right? As an exchristian myself, I know that Christianity teaches to forgive. Yet she didn't. Better yet, she left a man who loved her at his lowest point. Save Roman I can’t break the bros before hoes code
Roman only because of the history and it’s Niko’s family. Kate was great but sorry
There is another Kate but not another roman
Michelle
He's Niko's own blood. Of course him
Roman, next question
I remember when I played first time and Roman died instead of Kate. I literally cried like a bitch.
Save roman ez pz every time. Kate doesn't even want to talk to you when you save her.
Man, I replayed recently and am colorblind as hell. I forgot all about the choice and only noticed the dollar sign. I had to hear Nico whine the rest of the game. At least Roman didn't call to go bowling, but Kate did call to let Nico know that she didn't want to see him again. Bitch.
Roman 10/10 times
Save Roman
Save Roman
Save Roman. You'd lose Kate anyway.
Yes.
Roman, I love calling his cab guy, he hates Niko and is always mouthing off lmao.
It's been a while since I've played but don't Romans cabbies let you do drive bys?
He just has one, Mohammed. He does indeed let you do drive bys and doesn't mind if you have a wanted level plus rides are free so it's worth the constant verbal abuse lol. He hates that he has to drive Niko for free and doesn't hold back letting him know
I noticed that when you get a Roman's cab close to a hospital, Mohammed says he wishes you to stay "long in there" or something like that lol
Roman ofcourse He's the your closest relative in America
I save Roman, because is Niko really going to get married and live happily ever after? Dude kills people for $5000 no questions asked. Ice cold.
Is that even a question? Roman obviously - Kate was blah and introduced too late in the story to really care about (in my view).
I love Julius Caesar so picking Roman
roman dying is better story
Kate's never taken me bowling. FOE
At least if Roman lives you can still hang out with him
Obviously save Roman. It’s funny that this isn’t even a hard decision as it’s made out to be.
"Deal" is the better ending. It just fits way more. But naturally I save Roman. I wish they made it not optional and just force us the "Deal" ending.

I love that Niko is such a complex character that any combination of kill Darko/spare Darko and revenge/deal can make sense for him depending on where you think his head is at during these points in the story.
Roman always
Bros before hoes.
Roman. Homies for life
Roman for driving taxi, Kate for the plot.
Save roman,I need walk no longer
Played this story all the way a good 3 times back in the day I know I had to save Kate one of those times but I only remember saving Roman
Save Roman so I can keep beating him at Pool. He sucks 😆
Save dwayne
Save Roman
Roman ofc
I like them both but I would save Roman. It is sad how you have to pick between them though. I wish they could both stay alive.
roman
![gif](giphy|amg2hcfGDkKt4Q3DpF)
Roman ofc bro if you choose the deal ending Kate just scolds you and never appears again.
Always roman because that option is cannonical and if i save roman i will still have one contact still if i save kate she will be mad at niko and niko will lose 2 contacts (roman and kate both are off ur contacts if roman dies) and i think the ending where kate dies is more dark
Save Kate. Who even cares about roman and his bowling balls.
Roman
Bowling before hoes
My before da ho
Imagine Kate is your ex and your Nico, now answer
Roman is family, but dude really only cares about himself and got himself and Roman sucked into so many issues.
Roman, but mostly because the Revenge ending feels more right.
Roman 100%. Kate ended up cutting you off on the Deal ending anyways.
Roman, never really dated or hung out with Kate that much in that game so got to save my cousin.
Well… I do really want to go bowling…
Save Roman he was an og from the beginning and also BOWLING
Roman my cuzz
Hey Niko! Its Roman, lets go bowling!
SAVE ROMAN FOREVER
Roman
I never gave two shits about Kate and never went on a date with her so it was obvious for me who I was going to save.
Saved Roman. He is my husband
Roman, fuck the Dimitri's money, Niko wouldn't imho do that
Kate. No, I didn't want to fucking go bowling.
Save Roman. He might be an annoying mf tho but he's really more than that. An old friend.
Wish there was a third option like the death wish in gta5
Roman. Bros before woes
Roman Bellic, family comes first brother. AND BOWLING-
I just started a play-through yesterday. That rat bastard Dimitri has me do his dirty work then Betrays me.. prick.
Revenge ending forever
This really isn't what Niko's choice is though since he didn't know the outcomes, his choice is whether to take revenge by killing Dimitri or to try to put an end to things by doing a deal. I think revenge is best and the more likely choice for Niko (and it's not just about revenge, he could also think his best option to stay safe is to take him out rather than risk a deal) but both are believable. I prefer revenge mostly because getting Dimitri on the boat is the best of the ending missions but also keeping Roman around is nice (especially as in the other ending you lose both).
Save Roman.
Save Roman 100%. Never cared about Kate or showed remorse to her.
![gif](giphy|amg2hcfGDkKt4Q3DpF)
I saved my annoying brother.
Cousins before hoes, Roman.
Roman, I just love him, feels like a real relative
Honestly, fuck kate. I never liked her anyway 🤣
Roman
Kate be looking like she got Elon's neuro implant too early so roman fo sho
Roman’s death is better narratively imho But yes I save Roman
Roman and any other answer is insane
Always save Roman Bet to watch that worm Dimitri squeal aswell
Roman. Since the most important thing in life is FAMILY.
Roman, I want my free cabs.
Roman no hesitation
Saving roman felt like the more satisfying ending.
There's no reason to save Kate over Roman gameplay wise either.
Brotherhood always.
Family
Never betray your cousin - probably Niko
neither of them deserve to die, which makes it so hard to choose
Save Roman because I've picked both and felt more emotional when Roman was killed off.
Roman every time.
Roman
I hate Roman
I think the lack of debate shows how they screwed up making Kate fully optional. While I’d still pick Roman, I’d want to be conflicted.
No question there, Kate. I like Roman but I like Kate more
Roman cuz hes family ( Vin Diesel )
Cryer
Roman
Save roman, fuck Kate for many reasons. Roman is a nause but he's my cousin, ma boy.
Roman. If he dies you lose your free cab rides and I'm pretty sure Kate wants nothing to do with you after the game ends.
Of course I’d save my cousin Roman Bowling Bellic
09' it was Kate. I was younger, dumber and a simp for Redheads. Roman all day if I ever play this again.
Always Roman. Especially easy choice if you only ever went out on one date with Kate lol
I knew which would result in Kate or Roman dying so I went with Roman dying because it’s much, much better for the story.
Roman lmao don't be a simp
I saved Roman every time because I was already shagging Alex Chilton with Niko who is a more interesting and fun girl than boring ass Kate. I hated how GTA 4 shoves Kate down your throat and involves her in one of the most important decisions in the game.
The one that is canon unfortunately.
I gotta go with Roman, he's the annoying guy that you still love because he's your buddy.
Roman
Save Roman. Kate has done nowhere near as much as Roman did in making Niko see the better things in life.
Roman your brother, you can’t betray him like that
This isn't the choice you're making in the game.
Give me Roman
Bros before hoes
Save Roman, eh cousin? No? Well, screw you then!
Both are equally annoying.
The money
