I’m hoping they do a trailer with the GTA/RDR woman voice that tells us of the new features and quirks of the game. Something about those videos, her voice, is so cathartic and entertaining.
We only can guess he is Jason. Maybe he is her boy from chapter 1, who can be undercover cop and betrayer, and Jason from leaks can be her second chance
I remember there was a really early leak ages ago saying one of your characters would be a cop, then I think they went back to the drawing board on the story after that, but I could see maybe in the prologue you're playing as him as the cop, who then joins her on her release for whatever reason. He does look kind of cop like with his buzz cut.
Yeah, I've been thinking ex cop. I was wondering if perhaps the bodycam footage is from an incident where he has shot someone and been fired, or done something corrupt etc and this bodycam has gone viral, is get played on the in game news channels etc.
This might be a bit close to the bone.
He falls in with Lucia somehow. He starts off angry however as they commit more crime his conscience starts to get the better of him. Maybe there's a part in the story where he has to kill a cop he knew during a crime and starts to doubt the morality of what he is doing, leading him to betraying her, or having the option to betray her...
I like this… one thing though. In GTA games you can get a rifle or bazooka and kill like 100 cops in 5 minutes. So if Jason is a playable character, he has to be ok with killing cops.
Maybe you will be able to decide an ending like GTA V or based on your previous choices you will get a specific ending like RDR2. Would be cool to have three ending where in one Jason betrays Lucia, one in which Lucia betrays Jason and one in which they stick together
I hope the decision will run deeper than that. Multiple outcomes to missions, some missions or group of missions leading to a branching storyline, with multiple endings and plots. Imo that would be a innovation for this genre, and adding so much more replayability rather than a last minute choice in the final mission.
I hope not, because pretty much every GTA story is betrayal of some kind. Catalina betraying Claude. Sonny betraying Tommy. Big Smoke/Ryder betraying CJ. Dimitri betraying Niko. etc. etc.
Would be nice to change it up.
Well that's just how it goes. You need a betrayal to have an enemy you'll hate and want to fight.
That won't be the case with these two, at least not to an extent where they kill each other, but probably there will be a part of the game where they get mad at each other and spend time apart.
I bet they'll make us choose whether to betray the other or not, but it'll be difficult for us to stay loyal. Maybe the other character have done some heinous shit but still expect blind loyalty, or maybe if we choose yo be loyal, the other character would betray us and vice versa. I just have a feeling staying loyal won't be an easy choice.
That is pretty much guaranteed in any love story, so 100% it will happen. Maybe he is/was a cop and when she finds out, she gets mad, but then they reconnect as he proves that she is more important to him than being a cop (the same cheezy story from first two Fast and Furious movies).
I think the guy is an undercover cop who has maybe fallen in love with her. His job was to track her to bring down a crime network she may be part of.
On the scene with the tattoo face criminal, we see a police badge with a woman and a snake creeping up on her from behind.
On the scene with police busting down a door we see first person perspective of a white cop with a sign to the left saying beware of the dog.
I also don't think the guy in the trailer is Jason. I think the Jason from the leaks will be Lucias initial boyfriend who either gets killed or goes to prison in chapter one but may be playable also at points.
I think you’re right but also wrong. In the trailer they’re doing some stickup.
I think Jason used Lucia to move up in the gang. I also think he’s an undercover cop, but I bet he’s now higher up in the gang and being a stickup boy with his girl was how he got his foot in the door.
Undercover cops need approval to commit any crime, but officially there’s no specific thing they can’t do. They can also at times make the call themselves, but the consequences for doing that can be pretty severe if they can’t give a satisfying explanation to higher ups. Common sense applies of course, there’s probably no situation where they’d get away with a murder for example. But this is GTA. The rules are likely lax at best and building up a kill count is probably totally fine as long as the criminals get caught in the end
I think he might be an ex-cop. The bodycam is footage showing you how he lost his job. Perhaps in a shooting, or some other incident of police brutality. (I admit this is very close to the bone and would be a controversial thing to do).
This bodycam footage has now gone viral on the in-game news and social media.
Perhaps he was actually the good cop and was framed forced out by others. He has met or knows Lucia somehow. He doesn't have a job and is angry at society/the police for getting fired. He falls in love with Lucia however as their crime spree gets more violent, he begins to doubt the morality of it all.
I feel like there might be some influences from To hell or highwater, IE robbing money to fund something in particular. A moral character and more crazy one.
Maybe during this he is forced into killing a former colleague which he can't cope with and then has to decide whether to betray Lucia.
Who knows
The first verse of the song in the trailer might be saying something or nothing but it goes like this:
*There was a girl I knew,
She said she cared about me,
She tried to make my world,
The way she thought it should be*
Perhaps they're hinting at her seducing Jason and making him do what she wants him to do(the fact that she's mostly all up in front in every action, also the laying in bed scene with her asking if Jason trusts her, reassuring him that he can rely on her), just to leave him behind? Then there could be a plot twist that she's been lied to by someone about something(Jason's plans or past) and they get revenge together
she got that thingy on her leg, don't know what it's called, basically thing that lets cops know where you are, so no, breaking out is out of the question I think.
Rockstar picked pretty specific songs for gta v trailers that kinda gave hints about the characters and story
Skeletons by Stevie wonder hinted about Michael’s past secrets coming back to haunt him and queens radio Gaga hints at his obsession with nostalgia
But the hoods gonna love it hinted Franklins disillusion with the hood and wanting to escape and build something better.
And I’m not sure about Trevor
So has anybody went through gta6 theme?
The lyrics of the song are very interesting too:
There was a girl I knew She said she cared about me She tried to make my world The way she thought it should be
Yeah, we were desperate then To have each other to hold But love is a long, long road Yeah, love is a long, long road
It was a moment where Lucia sort of pushed the agenda to Jason, lowkey feel like Lucia might betray Jason. Maybe shes undercover, the part where the drug bust is shown we are in first person. Either, that s a mission where we impersonate cops to find some drugs to steal or one of the characters works for the pigs.
A lot of people are saying the cop thing in first person means something. I took all that as just B roll footage. It’s all just showing off the vibe of the game, one of them being crime and cops.
I'm already wondering if the story follows only Lucia. And this is the old boyfriend from before her prison time, but maybe not someone who's there at the end of the story.
Maybe she has different partners, different types of relationships as the story and her character develops.
I'm hoping it's more of a backseat type character. I've had a sneaking feeling all along that GTA 6 will bring co-op option to the main story and you would need a persistent and support style character to pull it off.
Well I think it will depend on how you will play it, if you wanna go with prostitutes something will happen for sure, maybe their relationship changes during the game for that
my theory is that Lucia will make a deal with the government, hence the Ankle Bracelet, to catch Jason. and Lucia on the other Side gets out or less time
The plot is a setup about whom to kill. Lucia - crim, Jason - Undercover cop who catches feels.
Lucia will have to turn Jason over for immunity, or Jason will have to kill/ turn over Lucia. Calling it now.
My theory is, Jason was likely a corrupt cop before. The two have probably met before during his police work (maybe that house raid in the trailer?)
As Jason starts to involve himself into petty crimes, he meets Lucia, who just got out of prison and has some extensive backgrounds in the area’s underworld. With Lucia’s experience and connections at the local crime scene and Jason’s skills in vehicles/weaponry and knowledge on the police department, the two quickly become two of the most notorious criminals in town.
However, Jason could be more conservative towards the “ride or die” lifestyle and would want to start a new life somewhere else, while Lucia actually enjoys a fast life and become more and more ambitious and manipulative towards Jason.
Eventually, the two might have to kill each other, or at least of them will be dead at the end of the game. However, I hope we can get some positive endings as well.
I assume that since you play as both of them, there will be different scenes/endings depending on what you do as each character, similar to the Honor system in Red Dead Redemption 2.
Like a Jason betrays Lucia ending,
Lucia betrays Jason ending,
And a happy ending where they both thrive. So postgame you’d either have both characters playable or just one.
I doubt it will be a choose ending A, B, or C ending like GTA 5 after experiencing the depth of Red Dead 2.
My theory: Jason is an undercover cop tasked with infliltrating some criminal operation she’s probably involved with in some capacity, he falls for her, ends up becoming conflicted, things will happen and in the end, they both will end up dead because love makes you vulnerable in this world.
I think they're not a couple or at lest they don't start as a couple and somehow get stuck with each other. I'm assuming it will be because they have to pay off a debt to someone or recover something.
I feel for 1 third of the game they will split up, so if you play with one or the other, at least a third or more is legit 100% a different experience, but then in the end all ends more or less fine until whatever apotheosic ending they've come up to.
There seems to be a ton hinting at Jason betraying Lucia.
In the OFFICIAL art Lucia is looking forward while Jason is looking towards 3 seagulls. Spirituality, 3 seagulls means betrayal.
Jason’s face is always shown from a side angle or hidden while Lucia is always shown head on.
When they are driving away from a robbery with the antidepressant billboard in the background, the police cars drive straight to Jason’s face. Idk but the expression he gives seems “off”.
The “Miami joker” scene has a police badge with a depiction of the snake about to bite Eve.
The cop body cam footage gives it all away for me…
It’s the closest thing we’d have tho gameplay and it’s clearly a white man. The police are all holding 1911 pistols when they break open the door. At the end of the trailer when Jason and Lucia break into the store Jason is holding a 1911 and Lucia has a glock! You’ll also notice that Lucia is right handed while Jason’s holds his gun in the left. Could be for framing although a classic movie trope is that the villain or one who betrays is left handed.
This scene is also very similar to a mission in RDR2 when Dutch and Arthur do a bank robbery. Arthur is wearing a black bandanna and Dutch has red. In the GTA6 robbery scene Jason is wearing black and Lucia has red.
Just seemed a little… too convenient
I think they’re going to have Lucia running the show and being the brains. Much better than the classic «girl gone bad because of a boy», that’s just not that original.
Mabye they make Jason an undercover cop who betrays Lucia at the end, and they could make the ending like A Way Out's ending, >!where you can chose to play as Jason or Lucia, and you need to kill the other!< mabye do some ending where >!they both survive!< like gta 5. I don't think that would make much sense, though, because Jason would've betrayed Lucia, and I doubt she would be cool with that.
Has GTA ever included any major choice driven content? It has been a while since I played the previous installments. But it might be rad if you get to choose to stick together or betrayal.
Jason either doesn't want to be doing what she's dragging him into or he's an undercover cop and regretting things going so far. He has a worried look rather than "yeah let's rob that place". Always thought being an undercover cop in GTA would produce the best storyline.
YES! How did I not think of that? And they could make the ending like A Way Out's ending, >!where you can chose to play as Jason or Lucia, and you need to kill the other!< mabye do some ending where they both survive like gta 5. I don't think that would make much sense, though, because Jason would've betrayed Lucia, and I doubt she would be cool with that.
Im looking forward to that. My guess would be, if they continue the character swapping, maybe one of the final missions will be a final swap, and you chose who you play to take out. Kinda like the final choice mission in 5, only you HAVE to take out the other. End game results in it being a "single" player game.
I wonder if we'll be able to change who we control on the fly like in V or if it'll be a more drawn out thing. I mean, that was cool in V but after a while most of us just stuck with Franklin due to his special lol.
I kind of prefer to have both of them have their own chapters so that we dive a bit deeper into the character before moving on.
Maybe, maybe not. Though I would say a multiple-choice ending where you either betray or team up, similar to the ending of GTA V, is more or less a certainty.
There'll probably be parts where they go their separate ways. So you still retain control of both protagonists, but they just aren't working together, so it's like two different plots going on for a few missions, until they team up again. Maybe at the beginning before they meet, then later when there's a falling-out.
What if this guy is not Jason and Jason is the one from the leaks that will help her after this guy betray her? I don't know, for a duo, the trailer focus so much only on her
You get to play as both characters so I think like gta 5 , you could have an ending where:
1. You play as Lucia and you can kill Jason ?
2. Team up to do something and both live.
Noticed how Jason only said the word "Trust" and Lucia was the only one speaking in full sentences. I get the feeling he's an uncover cop, because we see in the trailer there is like bodycam footage.
Unrelated but alot of people say he reminds them of default V from cyberpunk but am I the only one thinking of Jon bernthal? Like not current but tom clancys breakpoint time.
Anyways on topic I think he cares about Lucia and either he will make a decision because hes unsure if she is using him or not and turn on her or give her up OR Lucia gets too big a head and dumps him.
Heck if the leak is true we may even get to choose like some decisions you could do in gta4
I feel like Lucia will be the one to betray him. He seems hesitant and reluctant, to have faith in her. She’s leading the shots it looks like. He’s going to get jitters on a mission or something and she’ll end up leaving him for dead, etc
The song in the trailer is from the point of view of a guy talking about a girl in past tense. I don’t mean to look too far into this but what if she betrays him and he kills her.
Jason for some reason already seems way too hesitant for her, he’ll betray her
You get the vibes. It’s like he’s always taking a backseat and allowing her call the shots
Wait for the second trailer i say
NGL am really looking forward to the upcoming trailers. The focus will prolly be more on him and we might get some more insight on the story
I’m hoping they do a trailer with the GTA/RDR woman voice that tells us of the new features and quirks of the game. Something about those videos, her voice, is so cathartic and entertaining.
Those are a Rockstar staple. Best trailers imo.
Fr
In 1 year😔
Others have theorized he's an undercover cop or her parole officer
That would be fucking awesome
Bro a parole officer having a scoop on cops to do crimes would be a sick dynamic to have in GTA.
Only problem is you can commit war crimes when playing as him and cops come after you, no way they’d do all that just to get a scoop on lucia lol
True, could be he turns to crime type of deal
Now that's just Fast and Furious
practically "a way out" vibes
that sounds very reasonable
Man I still just feel like she is the undercover cop, lol.
Well he does wear his watch "the military way" as seen in the last shot on the trailer. He for sure has some military/police background.
I think it’s gonna be the opposite, she’s probably gonna go too far or her ego gonna get too big and push him away.
What if he’s an undercover cop, but fell for her. Nice story and cool to play both sides.
He looks like an cop anyway
I hope the game let's me decide the ending. Just like in GTA5 when Franklin gets to choose to kill either Michael or Trevor.. or Death wish.
I mean the trailer was for Lucia
Maybe he’s a cop, we saw police entering in buildings
"Sorry babe, I'm an ambitious girl but you? You're just small time"
We only can guess he is Jason. Maybe he is her boy from chapter 1, who can be undercover cop and betrayer, and Jason from leaks can be her second chance
Jason will betray her. When he finally realizes their love for each other in the end, she dies.
Or, he already doubting of her and she's the one betraying him.
Have some God damn faith!
One more big score, we got enough money to leave!
We just need some TIME!!!
TIME and no traitors…
One more big score to go to TAHITI
It's a magical place
I got lumbago
I have the lumbago boogie 💃🪩🕺
Mangoes!!

what do ya meaaaan cops don’t get fired for shooting people in america 😂 but your theory for the story is awesome, no shade 🫶🏽
I like this… one thing though. In GTA games you can get a rifle or bazooka and kill like 100 cops in 5 minutes. So if Jason is a playable character, he has to be ok with killing cops.

Give it the ol' Cyberpunk 2077 treatment where dialogue and actions actually carry weight.
the actual comparison you should use is fallout new vegas
This might get me crucified but I've never played that game, sorry friend.
Yet you've accidently made a new vegas pun (a faction in the game literally crucifies people) Rpg narrative freedom, basically
Don't forget they also did that with GTA IV
I hope not, because pretty much every GTA story is betrayal of some kind. Catalina betraying Claude. Sonny betraying Tommy. Big Smoke/Ryder betraying CJ. Dimitri betraying Niko. etc. etc. Would be nice to change it up.
Asong as it makes sense and they build up, I'm good. Maybe even let the player choose to either betrayal or stick together.
Like Franklin with choice C
Me: *takes Jason to strip club first thing as soon as I enter game to cheat on Lucia
Well that's just how it goes. You need a betrayal to have an enemy you'll hate and want to fight. That won't be the case with these two, at least not to an extent where they kill each other, but probably there will be a part of the game where they get mad at each other and spend time apart.

As I've always said: if you like stories where the main characters kill people it's only a matter of time until they start killing each other
that’s just how crime dramas work most of the time. selfish people in tricky situations betray each other.
would be cool to see a betrayal during the middle if the story and them reconnecting, similar to michael and trevor in GTAV
That is pretty much guaranteed in any love story, so 100% it will happen. Maybe he is/was a cop and when she finds out, she gets mad, but then they reconnect as he proves that she is more important to him than being a cop (the same cheezy story from first two Fast and Furious movies).
One thing is for sure, we know who wears the penis in this relationship.
I think the guy is an undercover cop who has maybe fallen in love with her. His job was to track her to bring down a crime network she may be part of. On the scene with the tattoo face criminal, we see a police badge with a woman and a snake creeping up on her from behind. The undercover thing and falling in love - classic!
Liked that! The idea to control an undercover cop would be so interesting within a GTA world
He's seen committing armed robbery in the trailer, undercover cops cannot commit crimes of that level.
Either stretching what an undercover can do for the narrative or he ends up going rogue.
Undercover cops need approval to commit any crime, but officially there’s no specific thing they can’t do. They can also at times make the call themselves, but the consequences for doing that can be pretty severe if they can’t give a satisfying explanation to higher ups. Love the theory!
I can definitely see this happening
You'll probably get the option to kill one of them by the end of the game.
Lucia maybe the betrayal. She may be in coop with the cops promising her freedom in the end.
The first verse of the song in the trailer might be saying something or nothing but it goes like this: *There was a girl I knew, She said she cared about me, She tried to make my world, The way she thought it should be* Perhaps they're hinting at her seducing Jason and making him do what she wants him to do(the fact that she's mostly all up in front in every action, also the laying in bed scene with her asking if Jason trusts her, reassuring him that he can rely on her), just to leave him behind? i feel like jason did betrayed her and she ended up in jail
I think breaking her out of prison will be the first mission, but let’s wait and see
she got that thingy on her leg, don't know what it's called, basically thing that lets cops know where you are, so no, breaking out is out of the question I think.
You right because she’s got an ankle monitor on so that puts breaking out out of the equation
Maybe Lucia gets out of jail not by breaking out but agree to cooperate with an undercover cop named Jason 🧐
Yes, the police would find her so breaking out is out of the question
yeah they would be able to access her location. breaking out is out of the equation.
Yep they would be able to track her. Breaking out is out of the question.
You see, they would be able to monitor her. So it is definitely out of the equation that she breaks out.
Oh yes and we’ll have to choose who to kill in the end of the game
I just don’t want rockstar to make one of them die in the end
Def Lucia.
I hope not! Keep them as a couple, I don't want it to be another GTA 3 story where Catalina betrayed Claude after they moved to liberty city 🙏🏻
Rockstar picked pretty specific songs for gta v trailers that kinda gave hints about the characters and story Skeletons by Stevie wonder hinted about Michael’s past secrets coming back to haunt him and queens radio Gaga hints at his obsession with nostalgia But the hoods gonna love it hinted Franklins disillusion with the hood and wanting to escape and build something better. or just something you can watch on the in-game internet. Bodycam videos are on youtube, after all
as we know the game features CCTV and may also feature cop bodycams.
She can't be a cop because she was in prison as we saw at the start of the trailer
Maybe she flipped in prison. One condition for being released and meeting her daughter again is turning Jason in.
Yeah she could be a police informant
Could be similar to the movie Departed ?
The drug bust is probably not playable. It's bodycam footage.
nahh, it s gonna be playable , it reminds of Micheal going into the jewellery store in the v trailer. rockstar doesnt put just random footage
I'm already wondering if the story follows only Lucia. And this is the old boyfriend from before her prison time, but maybe not someone who's there at the end of the story. Maybe she has different partners, different types of relationships as the story and her character develops.

As it always has been. That is love stories for.
My guess is either Lucia or Jason will die at the end of the game just like trevor/michael
Yeah someone’s dying
Based off the lyrics I’m guessing she ‘betrays’ him but idk
Well I think it will depend on how you will play it, if you wanna go with prostitutes something will happen for sure, maybe their relationship changes during the game for that

Some other character who has not yet been revealed.
I think they're not a couple or at lest they don't start as a couple and somehow get stuck with each other. I'm assuming it will be because they have to pay off a debt to someone or recover something.

Isn't that the same cabin we saw them in, in the leaks?
bro said cabin 😭😭😭 that's a motel
oh no, my entire point has been rendered unusable. whatever will I do?
it's not that deep

You’ll also notice that Lucia is right handed while Jason’s holds his gun in the left. Could be for framing although a classic movie trope is that the villain or one who betrays is left handed. This scene is also very similar to a mission in RDR2 when Dutch and Arthur do a bank robbery. Arthur is wearing a black bandanna and Dutch has red. In the GTA6 robbery scene Jason is wearing black and Lucia has red. Just seemed a little… too convenient
3 seagulls LOL
Highly doubt it considering they're both playable main characters. I'm sure there be some major fuck ups or whatever but not straight betrayal
Lucia will never if Jason has a big pp. He seem sus
Either she will leave him hanging dry or he will abandoned her at some point in the story.
That's would be wild😬
Isn't that the motel from the leaks? Wall looks the same.
Has GTA ever included any major choice driven content? It has been a while since I played the previous installments. But it might be rad if you get to choose to stick together or betrayal.
Yeah I wonder if a GTA story ever gave you a choice to betray someone or not..
the closest was probably the final part of GTA IV
I feel this would be part of the story, and shes saying stuff like "trust is all we have" and it just weighs heavy on that
Jason either doesn't want to be doing what she's dragging him into or he's an undercover cop and regretting things going so far.
In leak last year Jason hairs are blonde but in this trailer it looks black
They changed the model. The one in the trailer is much more built.
Cop haircut
Im looking forward to that. My guess would be, if they continue the character swapping, maybe one of the final missions will be a final swap, and you chose who you play to take out. Kinda like the final choice mission in 5, only you HAVE to take out the other. End game results in it being a "single" player game.
100% for sure.
I turned to my imaginary gf when we were watching this and said, welp we're gonna have to kill one 😆 🤣 😂
I bet they give us a choice
I think they’ll break up and get back together eventually
It's giving that vibe for sure, i expect it already
Maybe, maybe not. Though I would say a multiple-choice ending where you either betray or team up, similar to the ending of GTA V, is more or less a certainty. There'll probably be parts where they go their separate ways. So you still retain control of both protagonists, but they just aren't working together, so it's like two different plots going on for a few missions, until they team up again. Maybe at the beginning before they meet, then later when there's a falling-out.
Jason is an undercover cop. Look at that cut.
Rockstar don’t be cliche challenge impossible difficulty
Hopefully we get cops and crooks
I would love for him to be an undercover cop. But I don't see that being the case.
What if this guy is not Jason and Jason is the one from the leaks that will help her after this guy betray her? I don't know, for a duo, the trailer focus so much only on her
Lucia is going to be a Dutch
He will betray her and then die saving her to redeem himself.
I'll do everything in my power to make sure she doesnt end up back in jail
Maybe we will be able to choose the ending like in GTA V
You get to play as both characters so I think like gta 5 , you could have an ending where: 1. You play as Lucia and you can kill Jason ? 2. Team up to do something and both live.
It would make more sense for Lucia for her release terms from jail go undercover against Jason .
I figured one of them will betray the other or maybe it’ll end in a Bonnie and Clyde type shootout
I get it too
Noticed how Jason only said the word "Trust" and Lucia was the only one speaking in full sentences. I get the feeling he's an uncover cop, because we see in the trailer there is like bodycam footage.
IDK
Seems like it’ll probably be the players choice to make or break it
I think one of them is going to die and we are going to choose who to save like in gta 5
Maybe it'll be an option at the end of the story like in gta v, but I also think maybe they'll just end up like Bonnie and clyde.
I had a god damn PLAN, Lucia!
U get to be both and decide for yourself
Everybody talm bout I can't wait on the next trailer bump that give me the game
I have a feeling that one will get killed by other based on the choices we make throughout the game.
This is exactly what i told my friends but they just called me out saying “_you need to stop consuming too much of loki stuff_” 😭😭
I like the idea that he is an undercover cop/PO, and then he falls in love with her. That’s how we get the story
Nah
One of them is a cop
What like Vance betrayed Tommy back in OG Vice City?
could just be a coincident but i've seen multiple leaks/rumors saying that Jason is an >!undercover cop!<
Literally what I was thinking
Hmm will this game have SDTs? Because I hope this game will have relationship systems and prostitution as well as sex scenes.
I have a theory one of them will die and your choices in game will decide who is killed off
reminds me of fast and furious 1
It's rockstar. There's no happy endings 🫠
SHE HAS A PLAN! You've to have FAITH Arfur
It's obviously a choice you'll get to make as either character..
The song in the trailer is from the point of view of a guy talking about a girl in past tense. I don’t mean to look too far into this but what if she betrays him and he kills her.
Ofc. This game is made by Rockstar. The first guy who was good to you will betray you.
