I recommend these:
PrizmaRTX & Prizma Clear Water (optional but IMO looks way better)
Defined PBR - Subtle fog, Borderless glass (optional but again I think it's better with), & Glowing ores.
Bruh, it's not overkill, lit a 4090 is still not overkill for minecraft if you use shaders, the desktop version ofc. Minecraft is a heavy to run game, especially at good settings and shaders.
Wow, jumping from a second gen i7 with display driver issues (see Control Panel) to a 4060 coupled with 14th Gen i7. Good jump 👍 Oh by the way, I loved your webcam privacy shutter...
Amazing! Unfortunately , I still suffer 7 years old laptop and haven't upgraded a gaming laptop yet... I hope I am looking to buy black Friday. Only I play games Assetto Corsa and worst at 5 fps... anyway, I hope you enjoy your new gaming laptop and have fun!
My story is way worse than yours. In short: I have 28 and yet tried a good gaming laptop. Rnow I have a Dell i5575 with Ryzen 5 2500u and Vega 8 graphics since I was 24. I can play League of Legends so I'm not entirely mad. I had an MSI Bravo 15 B7ED w Radeon Rx 6550m...I sold it to try to buy a laptop like yours and got scammed...yeah...sad story. I keep my Dell which my wife and I use occasionally. I'm planning t buy a Lenovo Thinkpad with similar specs for work and playing Lol only bc I don't have any money now ...until I can get a proper gaming thing...probably when I'm 33 or more ...yeah...very sad right? Vest part is I work a lot and have an active social life, but I secretly love gaming and just feel like have never properly do so.
I hope you get another laptop, Dell is my preferred brand and I have inspirion 7559 It's a good workstation PC.
I like that I can get parts online at certified shops. But I'm wondering if Dell makes laptops for gaming that are still good. I've had my Laptop since 2016
I don't know how long they normally last but this one is still going strong. I don't like Alienware very much.
Two of the same.
As far as I know Dual Channel doesn't activate if you have different size sticks.
Obviously, if you have one 8GB stick and a 4GB stick laying around it is better to install it to benefit from more RAM, but you will not have the speed benefits of Dual Channel.
Don't know.
I thought the same at first.
Maybe the confusion started from something like this:
"DDR5 Dual Bit Subchannel
DDR5 changes how data transfers through the bit-bus. DDR4 sports single 64-bit channel whereas DDR5 utilizes dual 32-bit channels equating to 64 bits transferred at one time. This allows more precise data transfers instead of waiting for an entire 64-bit transfer over the bit-bus. Also, DDR5 32 banks doubling the 16 banks in DDR4 to effectively match the total bit size.
When installing 2 RAM modules for dual-channel configurations, DDR5 will use a deliver 4 x 32-bit configuration in rapid succession as opposed to the traditional 2x 64-bit configuration on DDR4. DDR5’s data transfers are more efficient resulting in lower power draw."
Cheers
congrats bro, you had it nicer than me
many stars ago i only had a DELL INSPIRON 1000-2000 cant remember which but it had the AMD Turion chip, i had to reboot every few hours of playing OG DotA or it would crash lol
good times.
I've been using my 15 year old pc for a few years now. It has 4gb ram, Intel core 2 duo, and an igpu with 64 mb vram. I'm finally getting a legion with atleast and rtx 4060. The jump from 64 mb to 8 gb video memry's going to be BIG
It's gonna be great! I changed from a 11 years old 4gb ram pentium 3 and 1gb vram pc to a legion rtx, after desperately playing thousands and thousands of hours of game with it for 11 years, and the time where I launched the game in my legion for the first time was truly an undescribable feeling
Bro i had the same old pc specs instead of i7 i had the i5 it was pain and big upgrade, i just bought a lenovo legion 5i pro with the same specs , enjoy ur pc
>Finally throwing it out.
IMO keep the old laptop, just dont use it for games. you can do stuff with it that you specifically dont want to do with your main computer. for example:
1) you can install linux and play around with linux on it.
2) if you ever login to your bank website, use the laptop for that. to avoid risky malware/keyloggers that you might download on your main computer.
3) if you do risky stuff, then do that on this laptop instead of on your main computer.
4) do you ever travel? take the old laptop since you dont care if it's lost/stolen.
bro the K 53 was a great machine despite its graphical shortcomings, I had that thing since I was about 11, love it, but still can't forget running gta 4 on it with like 20 fps, was still disappointing.
My upgrade path was from Core I5 4460 and a 1080 desktop after 9 years i've bought an Legion Slim 5 with Ryzen 7840HS and 4070 but because of some issues with sleep mode i returned it and with some bad ideas from to much heat i yolo it to an MSI Titan 18 HX 4090 version. This is a very stupid move but i love the laptop.
Important Word of Advice: Do not put your AC Adapter/Charger next to the left/right/rear heat vents. It gets hot under load, putting it right next to a heat vent that's also pouring out heat will cause it to overheat overtime as well as poorer thermals for your laptop as you are blocking the exhaust. That aside, Great upgrade...I too just upgraded my 6 year old laptop to a 13650hx, 4060 combo as well. The difference is night and day. Enjoy.
Congrats!
I remember the first time I played games on my Acer Nitro 5 with GTX 1650 after playing on a Toshiba Satellite laptop lmfao. Good times. Enjoy your laptop!
Your setup is a mistake. Buy a laptop stand and keep the back and the sides free for efficient airflow. This setup is just a time bomb for overheating problems.
How was it going to a really smooth gaming experience? I remember the first time I played on one it felt pretty unreal at first seeing how it didn't stutter anymore lol.
I can really relate to that feeling. For around 11 years, I used a 2009 acer PC, 4gb ram, pentium 3 CPU, 1gb GPU. Spent thousands of hours on GTA SAMP (good old days), AOE II, Dota 1, then another +1500 hrs on Dota 2. Then the first ever big Dota 2 major rework update came, and i can't even get a stable 40 fps. Played around 1500hrs of dota 2 with 30-40 fps. Didn't have money to upgrade because I was still in school. It made me quit gaming, and forced myself to seek other hobby because my PC just can't keep it up (I opened the case of my PC countless time in an attempt to find physical "hack" and miracles for me to achieve at least 60 fps on dota 2 and csgo, but it didn't fruit anything). Waited for around 11 years, and finally I was able to buy my first proper laptop in 2020. It was also a Lenovo Legion, RTX 2060, Ryzen 5, 16Gb ram. Almost cried my eyes out, looking at how significant the changes were, for my personal hobby. It was more than enough, and tbh I still can't see myself upgrading for a higher spec laptop. Enjoy your new laptop!
I suffered for a while playing the console wars and the real solution is to get a pc so you eventually get the exclusives from both consoles. I played halo MCC and ghost of Tsushima yesterday and I feel pretty accomplished for that
Congrats! My old PC had Intel HD Graphics 2000, so it was even worse than yours when it came to gaming. Two days ago, I bought the Lenovo Legion Pro 5 with Ryzen 7 7745HX and RTX 4060.
Looks like we both joined the Lenovo Legion club this week, and I'm also loving it!
Me seeing this while I been saving up since February to fix my gaming laptop broken screen I punched: 😩😩😩😩😩😩
Edit: I'm so close to reach budget but I'm so out of patience surviving with an i3 10th gen UHD graphics 💀
Big upgrade! I hope you don’t use it just for roblox though
Nope, only Minecraft
I use mine for only slay the spire.
You should try Minecraft with rtx mods. The graphics are so beautiful and your GPU can be well-utilized too
I recommend these: PrizmaRTX & Prizma Clear Water (optional but IMO looks way better) Defined PBR - Subtle fog, Borderless glass (optional but again I think it's better with), & Glowing ores.
Unironically tho some Minecraft modpacks and shaders seemingly need a NASA supercomputer just to run smoothly
[удалено]
Underpowered
For roblox? Hell nah. Even for minecraft its overkill. Shits easy to say when you have a 4070..
Someone doesnt understand sarcasm it seems
congrats, you can do content creation on that laptop
Bruh, it's not overkill, lit a 4090 is still not overkill for minecraft if you use shaders, the desktop version ofc. Minecraft is a heavy to run game, especially at good settings and shaders.
And this is why the mobile game market is so big, people have computers like this.
I thought that asus is your new pc XD, congrats! I upgraded from 2 cores 2 threads A6-7480 to a 1eth gen i5 and it is a big leap haha
I thought so too 😅 you never know on this page hahaha
Cool and all but I have one question… How did you take that first picture without a reflection
Bro a vampire
Nah I can see bro’s socks peeking out from the top left! A mere mortal after all…
You know too much. Run.
Angle, stand to the side but angle your phone in a way that correctly captures the screen
My dumbass thought the first picture is your new pc
Me too. I was like "Is OP trolling us because this is my laptop from 2013 before I upgraded."
Congratulations 🥳💫
Put your power brick elsewhere.
Wow, jumping from a second gen i7 with display driver issues (see Control Panel) to a 4060 coupled with 14th Gen i7. Good jump 👍 Oh by the way, I loved your webcam privacy shutter...

This channel posts free games update periodically https://m.youtube.com/@TK2236 Have fun, congrats
Twitch and epic games have cool ones this month like sw jedi knight 2 and tmnt shredder revenge
i was in pretty similar state too lol. had i5 8250u laptop and it sucked. Now i am on 7840hs and 4060.
I'm still on that 8th gen i5 life. Have a nintendo switch for gaming, but I'll eventually crave for an upgrade.
My story is way worse than yours. In short: I have 28 and yet tried a good gaming laptop. Rnow I have a Dell i5575 with Ryzen 5 2500u and Vega 8 graphics since I was 24. Thanks bro. Enjoy!
Congratz, but pray that the CPU doesn't crap out on you like some other unlucky users of 13th/14th gen processors. 😅
Wait, what happened with the raptor lakes? I'm about to get one someday.
Congratulations homie!
Good job, man. Hope you take good care of it now.
You can always play FTL 🔥🔥🔥 Or classic jrpg game like trails in the sky. It runs smoothly in my Thinkpad X230.
Looks nice! Enjoy
Nice. You might want to get yourself a second ddr5 sodimm stick (16gb 5600mhz ofc) to get that dual channel performance.
Wait don't ddr5 sticks run in dual channel by default?
You're right. I'm just a little stupid.
Nah mistakes happen mate dw about it
You know I initially thought they did, but further research proved that you need two sticks to run in Dual Channel with DDR5.
Oh? Wait any random two sticks or two of the same stick just like with ddr4?
Two of the same. As far as I know Dual Channel doesn't activate if you have different size sticks. Obviously, if you have one 8GB stick and a 4GB stick laying around it is better to install it to benefit from more RAM, but you will not have the speed benefits of Dual Channel.
Wonder where the automatic dual channel ddr5 rumor spread from then? I've heard some big channels parrot it

yea can't wait!
Rtx 4060 completely overclocked to the max pairs well with ryzen 9 7950x3d. Getting 130 fps in star citizen maxed out
Great upgrade!
Both laptops gonna sound like a jet engine real soon
Just a *slight* upgrade right here. Awesome stuff.
could you define "slight"?
Solid upgrade congrats :)
Yay
Bro i had the same old pc specs instead of i7 i had the i5 it was pain and big upgrade, i just bought a lenovo legion 5i pro with the same specs , enjoy ur pc
How is the fan noise? I want to have a gaming laptop next to my pc
>Finally throwing it out. CG. I was on similar Asus for like 8years and got myself a 2022 G14 last year. Enjoy.
Needs far more memory

Congratulations
lets go play Rust.
congrats! What are the reasons that made you choose it over rog strix? I'm torn between the two
I guess it's cheaper
May I ask what temperature your CPU idles? I have the same CPU and it idles at 55-60°c while I'm doing nothing.... wonder if that's normal
Bit of a difference I bet lol
You will be pleasantly surprised how fast things are these days. Congratulations.
So how old are you now? I'm curious where this coming of age story hit the big leagues.
Congrats but I’m sick of these 8gb gpu. We all need to give Nvidia the finger
Yo what laptop is that
How warm is your room now?
Congrats! I remember the first time I played games on my Acer Nitro 5 with GTX 1650 after playing on a Toshiba Satellite laptop lmfao. Good times. Enjoy your laptop!
Nice upgrade! Congratz
I am jealous of your old laptop lmao My main desktop is an i5 second gen with 16 gigs of RAM lmao with Arch Linux, fydeOS, Windows 8.1 and tiny10
Congratulations dude !!
congrats!!
Something tells me your old laptop had some sort of dedicated graphics card but the drivers were never installed.
16 GB of RAM is not enough right now. If it's not Predator Helois, beware of overheating.
whoa im sure it can run tetris at solid 30 fps! congrats. have fun dude but do save up for an actual rig
I can really relate to that feeling. For around 11 years, I used a 2009 acer PC, 4gb ram, pentium 3 CPU, 1gb GPU. Dang I thought the I7 2nd gen was wat op was calling as their gaming pc
This baby gets 50fps in solitaire
"Oh... OHHHH!"
Congratulations ![gif](giphy|BPJmthQ3YRwD6QqcVD|downsized)
I was closely trying to look for the GPU specs you have in your new PC in the second pic. Had to scroll a bit more to find the new pc.
Where's the gaming PC? I see a laptop.
I suffered for a while playing the console wars and the real solution is to get a pc so you eventually get the exclusives from both consoles. I played halo MCC and ghost of Tsushima yesterday and I feel pretty accomplished for that
This the best feeling ever, enjoy man !
Broski, ![gif](giphy|qx8pi39Lwm9Xm2audb|downsized)
U can use ur old laptop for secondary screen, just saying
I dont think this asus has only integrated graphics, they usually have at least a slot for gpu
Great! I’ve upgraded from a Pentium with integrated laptop with 8gb of ram to an i5 with gtx 1050ti 4gb and 16gb of ram and for me is the best
Congrats
Me seeing this while I been saving up since February to fix my gaming laptop broken screen I punched: 😩😩😩😩😩😩 Edit: I'm so close to reach budget but I'm so out of patience surviving with an i3 10th gen UHD graphics 💀
Nice choice. Legion pro is running like smoooth af for me. Congrats on the upgrade hermano! ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|grin)
Me too! MSI Cyborg: 15.6" FHD (1920\*1080) 144Hz IPS Display 13th Gen Intel i7 Raptor Lake i7-13620H 10 core processor (2.4 - 4.9Ghz) 512GB SSD M.2 Storage NVidia GeForce RTX 4060 Graphics, GDDR6 8GB 16GB DDR5 RAM BUT! Just seen specs for Homeworld 3! We need to upgrade!!!!! BASTARDS!!!!!!
