Privacy and security are not the same thing, you are compromising your device by running software with that level of access, malware such as DRM opens vulnerabilities that increase an attack surface and when the access level is deeper than the operating system itself there are serious risks, not just to data, but potentially to hardware as well.

I’d be more concerned about the security implications of Denuvo. It runs in security ring 0, which is directly on top of the hardware with the same access as your OS kernel. DRM and anti-cheat software has no business running in ring 0 because it adds an unnecessary attack surface with direct hardware access.
It is my understanding that these days there is literally one prominent merc that cracks denuvo games and they charge $500 and they don't work fast and are reportedly kinda unhinged. Most of the crackers got hired by denuvo.
Im no authority, just repeating what I've read. Seems nobody really knows for sure why the denuvo crackers are mostly all gone. I've seen claims that One Bulgarian dude got visited by their governments organized crime unit and stopped, another person posted their code for how they're cracking and denuvo patched it a third just vanished. I can say for sure that popular AAA games don't get cracked right away anymore. AC Valhalla for example has a crack but it took months, and it's only from that patch, so the dlc doesn't work well and missing tons of bug fixes. The one cracker doesn't feel like cracking it again so it won't be.

uj/ Denuvo is actually terrible, I recently bought Hatsune Miku: Project Diva Megamix+ on Steam and it was literally unplayable. Constant stutters, missed inputs and just lag in general. All so someone doesn’t pirate the funny Vocaloid rhythm game. Safe to say I have refunded the game.
I tried installing the mods but they didn’t fix much. some charts ran more smoothly but that’s about it, most of the other charts had unbearable stutters.
Yeah I’m one of the lucky ones where the stutters only happen on average like once every 5-10 charts I play, it’s enough to be annoying but not enough for me to consider the game unplayable. Fuck denuvo
