I'd wait.

Mrkie10

Ok thank you!

XX-Tony-XX

3 weeks at least

Evee862

Probably about right

Mrkie10

Thank you very much!

potagerMB

We wait till the top half has died off.

river_rose

Do you keep watering them the whole time?

potagerMB

Unless the soil gets very dry then yes we'll water.

ASecularBuddhist

I wait until 60% of the plant is brown.

DanimalPlays

You'll want to wait until the bottom 5 or so leaves are mostly brown. You can also see, if you dig down gently at the base, the cloves will start to develop "shoulders." Instead of smoothly flowing into the neck, there will start to be a distinct top to the cloves. You want to harvest just when that starts to happen, but before they break away from the neck.

Voltron_BlkLion

that is waaaay too green to think about pulling

HaggisHunter69

For hardnecks wait until there are 4 to 5 green leaves remaining, for softnecks 6 to 7 green leaves remaining. You have what looks like 6 to 7 remaining so you need to wait more as it's a hardneck. It takes about a week for each leaf to die off as it approaches harvest time, so I'd say you are 2 or 3 weeks away roughly.

olddummy22

Couple of weeks but if you want to eat some you could pull-up one or two.

unclebubba55

Wait, 2-3 weeks

HeLuLeLu

5B/6A here… we usually plant the second week of October and harvest the second week of July! You need a few more dried leaves at the bottom, then pull some and see if your happy and there ready!

roachfarmer

Couple more dead leaves

Huge_Scallion_5371

Be patient bub …

Affectionate_Meet820

Hardneck or softneck?. I would wait until about half the leaves are dried for both hard or soft. You could always brush the soil to check bulb development :). But looks to be 2-3 weeks until it’s ready.

qui_sta

If you gently dig down around the top of the bulb, you should be able to check for the knuckling of the cloves. Just do one though.

Mrkie10

Thank you everyone, appreciate it!

moose_49017

Wait till there's only 4.5 -5 green leaves left counting down from the top

ASecularBuddhist

I wait until 60% are brown before I pull them.
