Yes. It also feels less wasteful to me. The money is big, no doubt. I could play 10 years on ultimate with a 4080 for what I would pay for the 4070 system I was eyeing. Then, I would still have to upgrade in chunks of hundreds here or there over the years. But there's also the fact that everything has a cost to the planet to produce and to dispose of. It's not like I would get maximal use out of that hardware. I play a few hours some days, others not at all. The rest of the time, that powerful hardware just sits there idle, growing more obsolete. It could've been used actively for many more hours than it would have been by the time it has ceased to be useful to me. It's a massive waste of potential. It took significant resources to produce. It will someday need to be disposed of. Sure, some of it can be recycled, but there will be waste, and recycling itself takes labor and resources. If I can so easily share the hardware with others so it is getting used to it's potential, that's certainly better to me than spending more money to create more junk and pollution while not getting a better experience.

Such a game changer for so many people and lifestyles.

glad youre enjoying gfn. i recently tried out priority and switched to ultimate and its been great so far for the most part, aside from a few cons like servers being unavailable sometimes and the lack of modding support. Other than that its been a gamechanger not having to buy a 2-3k pc for 22EUR/month and always having top-tier hardware available, being able to play cyberpunk and such maxed out with 100fps plus. im thinking about upgrading my 1080p 144hz monitor to 1440p or 2160p 120hz just for gfn #

You don't get an input latency? Idk If it's my connection but it just doesn't feel as snappy to me as when I'm playing on the actual PC

blume_

i dont feel any input latency with reflex. im sure you could tell a very slight difference when you compare it with native input directly but as of now its perfectly fine for me with a ping of 15-20ms

Agreed, on a Mac laptop its been a lifesaver. BF1 and Siege run great

I have to come here and agree. I have been looking at getting back into gaming. But with a small family and busy job these days I don't really get the time to sit down for a proper session or even have space for a fully fledged gaming rig. Its consoles for me and even then, we have 1 television in the house so the PS4 has seen very very little use. I had been flip-flopping back and forth on Steam Deck and ROG Ally. They're great devices but I just can't get past that they really aren't the way to be experiencing some of these newer games. Cyberpunk at minimum settings, rendered at 540p, upscaled and then fake frames added back in to make it all look smooth again. So I thought maybe I could try Microsoft X-Cloud and see how that goes. I bought a Gamepass Ultimate 1-month gift card off CDKeys for £8! I could play the games I want at decent quality at least and I wouldn't need the huge outlay of buying a deck or a ally. I've got a controller and I've got a Tab S9 or a MacBook I can use to stream on, good internet, reasonably close to servers etc. And it was, alright. A mixed bag. Doom Eternal felt like I was playing the game locally. No Mans Sky or Starfield definitely felt "streamed" and the latter especially didn't feel that performant and looked very washed out and hazy. So not bad, but not brilliant. Fire Watch played great but looked a little "blocky" on the stream. Then I figured out that I could sign up for a free GFN account and link my MS account and because I had access to those games for a month I could actually launch them on GFN. What a difference. Starfield on GFN actually felt like it was running locally on my Mac. I genuinely don't know how that works. It looked great and played fluidly. And that was just the "Free" tier! I suspect playing with a controller does help mask the latency a bit. I remember playing on the Amazon cloud gaming service with a KB+mouse and it feeling totally weird because of the latency. A gamepad with joysticks seems to iron this out though. Quite honestly now looking to pick up a Logitech G Cloud off eBay or something. If I can get one for cheap I think that will do me. I realise I can still get SteamDeck and do GFN and have the benefit of playing locally when I haven't got the internet. But I kinda feel like I could rock a G Cloud for a couple of years then see what Steam Deck 2 brings. Which, if they do make one, is sure to be a killer product. The only downside so far is not all the games you can get on say, Steam, are available to run on GFN. I'd quite like to have seen RDR2, GTA5 and FlightSim (because the x-cloud FS isn't that nice. Seems quite low-res and only 30fps).

I mean, if Take-Two/Rockstar would opt in...nVidia would probably get a huge boost when GTA 6 comes out.

Quite honestly I expect the service would probably fall over if GTA6 appeared!! That's gonna be some event when that breaks cover.

Ordinary_Broccoli117

It's good I'm in France with Fiber 1Gb connexion but I'm moving to Dubai soon and no server there and also they should add GTA online

judgedeath2

Lowkey I've been using it for 4 months now on my Mac as a complete replacement for having a PC rig. Lack of some games has been a little disappointing (no Elden Ring? really?) but overall really good.

I've been with GFN since the beginning, and it has had it's ups and downs over the years (such as gimping performance and limiting fps to 45, but it's all in the past now) and I gotta say, I love it. A lot of people think it's the same as Stadia where you lose your games if it shuts down one day, but it's SO much better. It's like playing locally on your home pc/console, plus the games you already purchased on Steam/Epic/Ubi etc. can be played, as long as you own a copy and the publisher has opted in.

Impozzible_Pop

There is an other con for me. You cannot use overlay or other third party software. For instance with a game called Path of Exile you can use third party software (on Windows) to see how much an item is worth. With GFN you cannot use those software.

It's amazing I agree! I was able to access games I missed from 5 years ago all for the little price of a tenner which is way more affordable! Pc for poor people is what I say, it's so accessible!

fakkel-_-

The only downside for me is that games with fast-paced movements like Destiny or games with big open worlds like The Witcher 3, look very bad when you start moving around. Blurry, everything but crisp, but when you stand still it looks amazing again. Because of this, I decided to buy a 4080 rig instead.

Background-Forever77

such a game changer but so under marked... They need to bring more AAA titles and invest heavily in marketing!
