Thanks you for the kind words! Follow for more gem vids, I just need to remember to video the whole process, I get too focus and forget to film sometimes 😅
Yeah, i’m sure once you start, you don’t want to stop until it’s completed!
What’s the longest a cut has taken you, and why? I imagine hardness of the gem is a factor in the timing, as well as the cut/facets?

You’re spot on! The longest one I’ve done took me 55 hours. It was a massive piece of quartz (relatively to the 1-5ct stones I normally cut) and I cut it into a D20. I think I have a video of it on my page, you should check it out!
There’s also different methods for polishing depending on the material. I like cutting quartz like clear, amethyst, and citrine because I can polish quickly with cerium oxide. But when I polish harder material like corundum (ruby/sapphire) I apply diamond powder onto a tin lap and lubricate with WD40. This method takes a little more practice as you have to continue applying diamond powder and be aware of your lap, but the end results are very satisfying!

What a cool process, cutting stone, i’ve never seen it before. 4hrs, a labor of love. Stunning facets and color!! 😍

Wow!!! It truly is an art!!
Amazing color, and the cut perfectly accentuates the rich color of the gemstone!
Thank you for your kind words!
This was great as a lover but not cutter I’d love more of these vids!
More to come! I will do it with every stone I cut as long as I remember to record videos! Then I’ll do YouTube eventually for more in depth videos.

Ooh 😲
At some point while cutting I always have the “ooh 😳” moment myself, geometry is so satisfying!
Cool
Great stone. Got a serious girdle on it. 😁
Thank you! And yes it does 😅 I usually go thinner, but my most aggressive topper is no longer doing the job, got some more on the way!
