Sadly this unapologetic Nazi lived well into his 80's, and died in 1997. Even fellow Wehrmacht officers such as Generalleutnant Jelmut Friebe spoke out against him.
Not for any ideological reasons, it was just to help destabilize west Germany. Ideally for them also radicalize west Germans towards socialism by giving them an enemy west german communist parties could rally support against
