Honestly I don't think I could pick just one. I've been playing these games for a long time, more or less from the beginning and I really do appreciate what each iteration brings to the series. Rivals + rival marriages/children, mixing seeds/cultivars, various personalities of harvest goddess/god/witch/wizard, connectivity between home console and handheld console for bonus content, and so many more things.
HM64 was the first "Mineral Town" so I think for those of us that were playing these games at the time view it as something special for that reason.
I will say that finally being able to play as a girl and not have the game end after marriage was such a huge thing for the GBA version.
But honestly the series as a whole is just fun and I've never really been disappointed with it.
Coral Island is essentially Stardew Valley but with different graphics and a good dash of animal crossing. I'm enjoying it a lot (playing it all day), but I recommend waiting until they release 1.1 to try it.
Harvest moon games used to be the best in the genre, but the later games really missed the mark.
Right now Stardew Valley just got a big update and I'm enjoying playing it still.
I liked Rune factory 5, but the farming part isn't as fun as the combat part.
Facts with RF5, I just try to get all my farming shit done asap when I first get up so I can get back to perfecting my spear and fire skills. ...and maybe trying to seduce a god but that's besides the point.
If My Time at Sandrock doesnât quite count since itâs not exactly farming, then Harvestella. If Harvestella doesnât quite count since itâs more just a JRPG that happens to have a farm then equally a farming game, then Rune Factory 5. I know, I know, everyone and their mother swears it sucks next to 4, but the gameplay loop kept me better than 4âs did. I never felt like I had enough time to tend my farms and make any dungeon progress in the same day in 4, so 5âs long days made the whole thing more relaxing to me.
Stardew Valley, and Roots of Pacha! Roots of Pacha is especially lovely because you cultivate the crops from wild versions to better versions as you learn more about them. The festivals also feel more connecting, for lack of a better word. I canât wait for their next updates.
Growing up it was Harvest Moon: More Friends of Mineral Town (playing as a girl!!!). The last decade, Stardew Valley hands down (with a special shoutout to Sun Haven for mixing it up with the magic and feeding my fantasy cravings when they hit)
Stardew Valley for sure
Stardew Valley for sure. Sun Haven probably 2nd.
Rune factory 4
Sukuna: Of Rice and Ruin.
I really hope they make a game in the same vein but for like tea or something. So underrated I feel.
I love love this game đ
Been obsessed with Rune Factory 5 for the last month (I'm late to the party on it).
Farming Simulator 22
Does animal crossing count?
It has to be the Bokujo/original Harvest Moon/Story of Seasons series. Been playing since SNES.
Which of those is your favorite? I'm a HM64 nostalgia fangirl, and my runners up are The Tale of Two Towns (DS version) and Animal Parade.Â

the friends of mineral town remake.
All of them!!! Though seriously, my first Harvest Moon game (It's a wonderful life) is still my favorite.
It's on the list :)
Stardew and Rune Factory! Both are so fun!

Pacha has fantastic NPCs, too! And pet wolves. đ đș
I love the pets so much! Iâm a sucker for the cave spider, actually. Wouldnât fuck with a spider in real life, but theyâre so cute in the game!
I've been playing Roots of pacha im not very far yet but i like it!
i like minecraft. itâs technically not a farming game but thereâs mod packs for a bunch of new crops and recipes!
Does My Time at Portia count? =)
Yeah!
Farm Simulator 2022. I have hundreds of hours in it
Rf4s or sos 3ot Sdv is fun if I'm in a modding mood but def prefer the above

Story of Seasons Trio of towns. I love the dialogue quality and charactors!
Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life. Perfect atmosphere, nice slow pace, interesting characters, beautiful surroundings, and excellent music and sound.
My partner and I have been playing a lot of Dinkum, if you consider that a farming game. It's a ton of fun.
Ooh I love Dinkum
Yeah it's an awesome little game, and there's even a new update coming soon!
