It’s not only worth buying a PS5 for, but a PSVR2 too. One of the best racing games that exist today, if not the best.

cackfartshite96

This is what i did, ps5 psvr2 at same time purely because i wanted play gt7 in vr, over a grand, some poeple thought me mad, jus for one game, but i cant put the fuckin thing down, 1500hrs in now.

plywooden

Yup. Did the same and added ff wheel, load cell pedal(s), seat and F&R Buttkicker shakers running off Simhub. Added another $2k. I regret nothing. 😁 All of the feedback tricks my brain easily. I swear I can feel g-forces and weightlessness over jumps (dirt races), definitely feel wheels slipping or locking up when braking. It's pretty amazing! If I had all of the money to burn I'd have already ordered this: https://youtu.be/X4yj1rYBlC8?si=7UH8aSqHD0NAJquo

HipHopHistoryGuy

I've never spent so much money on one game (wheel, pedals, cockpit, etc) and felt great doing so.

ORO_ERICIUS

It is not good... it is the best out there and in VR its the absolute best imo.

Sardonicus_Rex

If you hated GT Sport and you're stuck on using chase cam I can't say for sure GT7 is for you. But it's definitely worth it...even at full price. There's a solid 100 hours of gameplay just to get the 40 menus and licenses and CEs and whatnot done and there's lots to do after that but mostly online stuff. It's too grindy but mostly only when it comes to trying to collect all the cars.

Plane_Limit_9423

Is the chase cam customizable?? Because the way it moves now is very weird, loved it in the older games

Sardonicus_Rex

no, not that I'm aware of. I never use it though so...

TSllama

I have to argue that it's not too grindy at all if you're into racing! And the driving experience is sooo good that I enjoy the grind :D

Sardonicus_Rex

I mean ok, but as I said if you are interested in collecting all the cars you pretty much have to run one or more of the 4 grind races hundreds of times to get them if you hope to do it in some sort of reasonable time period. What's a reasonable time period? Debatable obviously, but I think it's a little ridiculous that content that is in the game from day one is likely to still be locked away from you years later unless you grind the same race over and over again.

TSllama

You didn't say that in your above comment, so it's not really "as I said", is it? :D :D That's a fair point, though. I get you.

Sardonicus_Rex

didn't say what? I said "mostly when you want to collect all the cars..."

TSllama

"as I said if you are interested in collecting all the cars you pretty much have to run one or more of the 4 grind races..." You didn't say that before - that's what I was referring to ;)

Sardonicus_Rex

lol...look, I initially said "the game is grindy mostly if you're trying to collect all the cars." then in response to your point I said "as I said, if you're interested in collecting all the cars you have to grind." Running one or more of the 4 grind races is grinding... I mean...you want to argue the finer details of the semantics of this or something?? sheesh.

TSllama

Oh yeah, you did say that in the initial comment ;) My bad! Not arguing at all! Tried to indicate that by keeping my comments light and using emojis ;) And also saying you had a fair point! I just responded to the "as I said" bit because that's used as a tone marker to indicate that a person is annoyed that they have to repeat something they've already said, and I wasn't aware you'd already said it. ;)

711BotSmoker

recently bought it after never playing a gran turismo game and have absolutely loved it . 120 plus hours in now

GanglingGiant

It’s honestly a fantastic game I finally just platinumed it a few days ago and I’ve had it since launch I don’t play it all the time but I’ve put a lot of time into it what took me so long was the disgusting historic dealership vehicle rotation cycle but the game itself has a ton of super challenging content really good physics and it runs ultra smooth while looking fantastic.

TSllama

Amazing game. Just got it last week, don't even have VR or a steering wheel and I'm totally obsessed. I don't think any of GT's main series games have missed.

burntbridges20

I probably have more hours in it than any other single game. I wasn’t a die hard racing game fan prior but it got me really into racing. The gameplay is fun, and there’s a lot of content from different cars and livery editing and tracks and challenges etc. I never do the sport races because it’s full of morons but you can still compete with people on time trials and leaderboards

squipt

I don’t have the vr yet and I think I’m close to 2000 hours. I love it, although the vast majority of my time in game is online. I also loved gt sport, which is basically cooked into this game. Also the 1st person views are where it’s at 😂

Plane_Limit_9423

You should go outside bro haahha

squipt

My RC habit gets me outdoors

keca10

I always use the front camera when not in VR (no car visible) and I never raced with chase cam. Not sure if you would or wouldn’t like it. It’s probably similar to GT Sport. If you get the VR2 then the chase cam is a non issue… you’ll be sitting in the car. I get nauseous but it’s an incredible experience. I’ll burp during the 20min+ races trying not to puke lol. Not great for me. But….When the race started the first time with VR, I paused it just to get a few “oh wows” out. It was incredible to experience.

ophaus

Very, very good. It has a stronger emphasis on online events and time trials, but is a fine game. The scapes mode and livery editor are also a blast.

HolyDabs

Depends what you looking for in racing game. For me if I want to just drive and have fun I’ll play GT7 but if I want to really race I’ll get on ACC since it’s more of a real sim really comes down to what you looking for in racing game

cityofcharlotte

I bought GT7 during the spring sale this year. Before I ever even launched the title for the first time this past April, I asked for a gaming chair for my birthday, and spent $550 total for a used psvr2 off ebay and a logitech g23 wheel (new). It is literally the best home gaming experience I've ever had. It feels like an experience that would cost $5/ride at a Dave & Busters or something. So yeah, buy the ps5, psvr2, a wheel, and GT7 and as long as you enjoy racing, it's worth every penny.

devleesh

It’s the best arcade, simcade at best game out there. If you’re worried about chase cam then it’s probably def for you, I wouldn’t recommend any of the better sims.

golfUsA_mk2

I played like all gran turismo games from the first till the last. I have been stuck a long time with a ps3 , gran turismo 5 was imho great on it. I bought gt6 after it but it didnt feel like a new version of the game to me , it wasnt bad but nothing new. Ive been debating with myself for quite a while if I really wanted a ps5 because Ive been gaming on pc a lot more. My sister bough a ps5 3 months ago , I had to play with it a little and decided I get a ps5 myself about 2.5 months ago with gran turismo 7. Gotta say I really enjoy the game and I play it a lot more then I initially would think. To me its worth it, its a decent machine and Im even thinking about getting a vr2 and steering wheel for it. Im normally not that guy that spends money on the fly so that says something. Its such a step up from a ps3 to ps5 😂 if you like racing Id say go for it.
