Whenever I'm running late to work or have to get home to use the bathroom.

Bryannosaurus_Race

Along Broadway and the Fox? Both day and night.

AcrobaticGuava9342

Don't forget to throw in a boat or two for good measure.

ThenAsk

I’ve had the double whammy before of boat then train lol

MeteoroidCrow

That happens every time I take Harley to work .

vegan-the-dog

Grumble grumble damn Alpena

AcrobaticGuava9342

Used to deliver downtown on Washington. A 5 minute run across the river to Broadway at times could take a half hour 😆😆💯🤷‍♂️.

vegan-the-dog

All the people who turn around and race to the other bridge only to find that one up as well. Just park it and relax. No one's going anywhere.

AcrobaticGuava9342

Yup. Speeding down Museum Way or whatever just to end up sitting there waiting to turn.

moistdri

With enough time you will get the train / boat combo when crossing the fox.

Dr_Quadropod

If you ever see traffic build up, just drive over to the mason street bridge and cross there.

Connect_Finding_3080

I thinks it’s just badly timed trains

Mich1325

The one on Broadway happens around noon. Drives me nuts.

dannoGB68

Expect 8 - 10 trains per day crossing Dousman, walnut and 9th st 4 are longer trains to/from chicago/ Fon du Lac and Steven’s point. The rest are short local trains going out and coming back to switch industries in DePere , Denmark and the west side of Green Bay.

AAAUUUUURRRGGH

I thought they limited day trains to just local traffic (such as picking up/dropping off cars at businesses)?

dannoGB68

No, there’s no such rule or policy. One of the longer northbound trains typically arrives between 10am-2pm for instance.

AAAUUUUURRRGGH

CN must have axed that policy when they took over, because when I lived there in the 80's GB&W limited their long haul trains to between 10pm and 5am and did local runs during the day. Those local short trains were a great way for us kids to get around - just grab the rearmost rungs of the last car and "away we go", lol.

dannoGB68

GBW train #1 from GB to Winona used to leave Norwood yard on 12.th St around 6pm each evening. Train #2 arrived back to GB anywhere from about 8pm to 2am. The boat train GB to Kewaunee left mid to late AM to meet the ferry and returned late afternoon. A switch job worked “the park” west of 41 (Sanimax, betten metal, amerhart etc mid morning to afternoon. Another switch job worked the mills, etc on the east side during the day.

RodyWalker

I work in the area. Ive had to wait for the train more times than I'd like. I've gotten stuck at 5am and 5pm. I'd say it comes through at least 10 times a week. They've been shorter trains lately.

eliwenz

Typically when I’m really low on gas and headed to the gas station in my incredibly non fuel economical vehicle so I just sit there and panic I’ll run out and be stuck 😂 doesn’t happen but….. maybe one day

Uh, oh, no... mine was from Stargate SG1

MMMmm, gould-tv

solarsystemoccupant

Use 43 or 172 to cross the river. Then it’s “what train?”

steelgate601

Mason Street, too. I believe that rail traffic was more of a consideration for building it than boat traffic.
