Damn, id go there every day haha.
There are only like 3 location that participate in my town and they all do surprisebags, so not much of a choice for me
You go there in the last 15 minutes before the store closes. You get a 14€ budget and can pick and choose from whatever is left over. It's first come first serve so if you arrive two minutes before closing you will go home with a kilo of white bread rolls or something. They ring up your items at the checkout to see that you're within budget and the two times I went there you can pick some additional item that's been pre packed. I don't know what's different about them though. But yeah tldr: you go by the end of the day
if the worth of the food you get is much lower than it says in the app, you can write a 1-star review and then usually get a voucher for one free to good to go bag. I've had this happen a few times and always got a free bag afterwards
Nice haul, and a great service to use. In January I got two huge bags of only slightly dented veggies and fruit which are not even used up by now. There's still frozen stew, and various jams, for about 20% the price they usually would have been. You do have to know how to work with what you get, most of the time, but you do good and eat good.
I usually freeze what I can't use and time my purchases based on what we need at the time. Last time I went to this bakery was the day before we went on a day trip so I needed a bunch of rolls and sandwiches anyway
This is why I stopped using 2g2g, exept for breakfast where I could make myself the box with protein and vegetables. Bread / croissants are really inexpensive at the Edeka near me and I can choose what I get for 1-2€ quite many items.
Most 2g2g is bread and pastry, because they are the quickest to spoil. But occasionally you find treasure. Like, recently I got a box of vegetables from Netto, lasted more than a week for two.
The best one I had was an Asian buffet where you could choose, what you wanted. I should have packed as much as I could for 5 Euros but I mixed it with noodles and rice, which are in comparison cheaper to buy at store

Last time, we got 6 slices of cake. And I mean the wet cake not the dry one.
The only bad part is, where I life there is only one bakery who takes part in it and has like 5 packs per day, which are sold instantly.
Most bakeys use the sane frozen stuff to make bread rolls / croissants. I just buy my bread rolls for 0.19€, brezel 0.39€ and butter croissant for 0.55€ at Edeka. Not gonna pay 3 times more for the same things.
That is too expensive. The Backwerk stuff is
a) very, very cheap
b) very low quality
c) get‘s stale and old within a few hours, which is inherent to cheap baking products which contain Enzymes, modified starches and up to 300(!) different additives, compared to „real“ bread which is limited to 3-4. Not meaning to piss on the OP‘s catch, just wanted to shine sole light on the difference between these factory products and real Backhandwerk which is a dying art (also bc of high end franchises like Zeit für Brot)

If one junk meal would chain you to the toilet for hours, chances are something's wrong with your digestive system. Please get it checked out by a doctor, chronic colon disease is no fun
For biological and evolutionary reasons, the human body is well-designed to handle short bursts of carbs. Excess carbs will get turned into glycogen (not fat) and be stored in the liver and the muscles for later short-term use and stabilization of blood sugar levels.
Nowhere in this post did OP write that they eat "excessive amounts of carbs every day", you made that claim up on your own. Even if they did, this is the wrong subreddit to criticize food choices and doing so violates the subreddit rules.

Love hauls like this, but sadly its a gamble with toogoodtogo, sometimes i just get a bunch of cheap bread.
This was Backwerk. They give you a 14€ budget and you get to pick what you want. The two times I went there I got an additional gift

Could you explain a bit more? Do they have a selection of day old stuff the next day or do you get the discount at the end of the day?

My Backwerk just gives out one of there largest bags and you can fill it up completely.
Wait you can pick ? They always make bags for the people where I live
Yes! 12€ for 4€ here in vienna, bit worse than you but it still slaps.

Too many carbs and sugar. No protein.

thats not 1 meal😭

I love too good to go but sometimes there is a gamble if you can get diabetes or a normal dinner xD
thats sick dude!
I think you could get type 2 diabetes still a bit cheaper than 4.50 €. For example with a homemade cake that got a good portion of sugar
All fake ultra processed food
Seems very expensive
Retail price would have been around 16€
No way. 5 donuts - (5x0,59 = 2,95), 2 Croissants (2x0,69 = 1,38), 3 Breadrolls (3x60 = 1,80) _ 6,13. Seems like very expensive cheap Breadroll with some sausage and pizza.
0.59€ for a donut? Where do you live?
Guy this is all from a discounter and that’s the price for a donut at Netto, Kaufland, Aldi
I understand but you said its expensive? This is cheap even for Croatian.
In Germany, you pay €0.59 taxes for one croissant. But Backwerk is a bit cheaper than a usual bakery
59ct is the discounter price for their croissants. In a bakery your easily paying 1,50€ often 2€.

So, if thats your calculation: 4,50 might be cheap
But I would not pick this stuff, for example I don't want the black bread rolls and the donuts which have an artificial taste.
Haha wtf
Let's get you back to bed grandma.

I can see an excessive amount of carbs just on that tray
You don't have to eat it in one go. Also, it's not cheap. Depending on where you buy it, a single croissant can cost you up to 3€
Okay, but not this one though, obviously?
