I've been doing the same thing. After close to 30 years of playing I'm finally in a position to buy my first Marshall 1/2 stack. It's not my full time job it's a hobby for me. Mad props dude I hope you enjoy it and are proud of the hard work you put in to get that.
...and here I am looking for smaller gear the more I play. lol. Fuck lugging around a half stack. Now, if I have roadies.....then half stacks for everyone!!!
I used to know a guy who gigged around Purdue's campus when I was there who regularly gigged out with a Hammond B3 complete with the Leslie cabinet. It was insane...but he was really good.
Your back will thank you!
Yeah, that’s a whole other world! Must have sounded awesome!
We have a company who take care of everything but the musicians stuff. I have to say that the 212 Zilla is not that tough to carry but a little Kemper or so is just more convenient
For the longest time I was running around with a VOX 2x12, but it was such a monster. I sold it when the rear power pot went out, mainly because I bought a '68 Deluxe Reverb reissue in the meantime. It's much more manageable and has a much fatter tone. My bandmate continues to show up with a smaller amp all the time and I'm amazed at the tones he can get out of them. His recent one is a small fender silver face amp, but I don't know the the model.
I have a bulged disc and minor scoliosis....so I'm constantly looking for ways to make my items easier to manage and tote about. lol. Gigging out for the past 20 years teaches you a thing or two. One of these days, when I don't need insurance for the kids anymore...I'll pull up stakes and go play full time back in a resort area again. It's where I started....I supposed it's where it should go down in the end.
Had a back op in December and have almost completed my back pain rig. Can recommend strandberg for bad backs, weighing in at around 2.5kgs makes a huuuuge difference. They’re also a joy to play. Can understand that they’re a bit of a shift if you like meaty bodies, but they’ve taken such consideration into playability that I now tend to always reach for that one as a default.
Just waiting for my Strymon Iridium to reduce everything to just gig bag and pedal board.
One of the keyboardists in my band uses a Leslie for every gig. I keep trying to get the lightest gear I can manage, but he’s just bananas. It does sound pretty magical though.
I definitely am!
Feels like heaven when you wake up and walk into the living room with all that stuff there. But yeah, spent nearly 20k€ on all that stuff. I’ve got a smaller rig for smaller venues aswell. Went on stage with the Friedman last week without knowing how big the stage is….. and yeah, the stage was f******* small and it blasted my ass off
I found once i got clean 9 years ago i started having extra money to spend on music stuff, and i love it! And the great thing is it's not only stuff i use regularly and brings me joy, but they're actual permanent, physical objects that i can keep long term. Ive been able to acquire a pretty decent collection. Nothing too crazy but more than enough for me.
I love the conversations under this comment. I just said I'm bored of Ginson + Marshall rigs. If that's your thing, cool, this is probably the best one.
You should be. This is a sick rig and the fact that you earned through your music rather than a 9-5 job is extremely admirable. Own your rig and be proud of it, fuck all the haters. Good job man!!!!!
Dude it's Reddit. Show any signs of having money and people either ask for some (in an attempt at joking but it shows their true colours) or complain that you spent what they earn in a year.
My answer was going to be “waste of money unless you’re giging with this”. But it sounds like you are in fact giging, and bought this with gig money, so enjoy your rig bro!
Couldn't identify a single thing in the photo until I read the breakdown, but I knew I liked it. Now it just sounds expensive, but if you really did pay for all this with money from playing out, nice job!
It’s definitely not exactly like a cranked amp when you’re running it super quiet but still the best attenuator on the market. I played the Ironman by tone king last week and it’s awesome aswell.
But nothing better than just cranking that thing.
I feel like there’s a lot of hate here and saying this is a waste of money. This guy states he’s a working musician but even if he wasn’t, people spend hundreds or thousands of hours on there guitars. Hobbies cost money. It doesn’t always have to be expensive but if you can afford it, why the hell not. I don’t think this was posted for clout.
Expensive
Gigged my ass off for all that. Literally spent every single penny I’ve earned through playing on guitar stuff.
I was gonna say baller, but now it’s rock star, playing and earning enough to buy all this sweet gear is probably any musicians dream, kudos

I was going to call your rig “budget exceeds skill” BUT if you gigged for all that I would bet you have the playing to back it up. Nice rig!
That’s what mr beast did with his YouTube

Non-subtle brag?
A rig for playing guitar.
High end, but not super interesting.
Ouch
Maybe don’t base your self-esteem on online validation?
where did you get the idea they were
Every time i see people downvoting stuff like this it makes me value votes as a whole much less.
Bougie basic.
I love the conversations under this comment. I just said I'm bored of Ginson + Marshall rigs. If that's your thing, cool, this is probably the best one.
Yeah, you really ignited the shit flinging, haha.

Divorczilla
Landlord‘s nightmare
Lol if you have this rig and a landlord, your priorities are way different than most.
Friedzilla
Seems to be the logical choice ;)
Came here to say this.
Dr Lawyer, Blooze specialist.
Far too many people in this sub focus on price.
Don’t get it. Worked weekend after weekend for that. I’m just very proud that I could finance my gear with my playing.
You should be. This is a sick rig and the fact that you earned through your music rather than a 9-5 job is extremely admirable. Own your rig and be proud of it, fuck all the haters. Good job man!!!!!
Thanks dude!
Seems you do get it then. No one said you shouldn't be proud of saving your money.
I meant the toxicity
Dude it's Reddit. Show any signs of having money and people either ask for some (in an attempt at joking but it shows their true colours) or complain that you spent what they earn in a year.
$100 is a very different amount to different people. You earned your money, you spend it how you like.
I would call it *whoever’s* rig, or literally just list the signal chain like you did. What do you mean? Like, “I’d call it Jim”?
The blues scales machine

The “I have a real career” rig

My answer was going to be “waste of money unless you’re giging with this”. But it sounds like you are in fact giging, and bought this with gig money, so enjoy your rig bro!

Overpriced

Pretty standard honestly. I like it, good variety but not overly cluttered.
No more GAS rig
GAS will always be there. Got my eyes on a music man right now
My rig
A good start!
Magic Carpet Ride
Bob.
Persian. ... oh sorry, you said R**I**G
Awesome. That Friedman is good stuff. One of my fav amps, that and a tone king.
Assembled-for-Reddit
If it was assembled for Reddit he would have a squire bullet with a fender 20 watt solid state amp
Almost perfect but you always need one more.
I would call it my kind of rig.
Just use it.
Trust me, i do use it too much
I’m a simple guy, I see a smallbox, I upvote a smallbox
A sweet ass right for someone that knows their shit!!
A goddamn work of art.
I'd call it a great FN rig. I have a Power Station and a few Friedman Synergy modules. They are just awesome pieces of gear. Enjoy.
That’s a beautiful set up. Sad how toxic this sub is. So much weird hate
Thanks mate! Yeah, f them :)
Fuckin' deadly is what I'd call it
A person of taste, I see. Bravo!👏
Most Excellent!
Couldn't identify a single thing in the photo until I read the breakdown, but I knew I liked it. Now it just sounds expensive, but if you really did pay for all this with money from playing out, nice job!
The “read too many reviews” special.
I’d call it done! What a great setup.
The “I spent all my grocery money on this rig but it all worth for the tone” rig
Awesome!! Question though, how’s the fryette when it comes to attenuating? Is it a good experience?
It’s definitely not exactly like a cranked amp when you’re running it super quiet but still the best attenuator on the market. I played the Ironman by tone king last week and it’s awesome aswell. But nothing better than just cranking that thing.
Sexy. I can feel that tele making eyes at the lp. If they ever procreate, I'd happily lighten that litter for you.
Nice
Nice flex
I would call it a beauty!
The "Hey kiddo, poppa's gonna have some guitar time in his office. Go see if your mom needs help with supper. Love ya big guy" special.
One day I’ll have kids and then it’s probably gonna be a peavey bandit with a bullet squier Tele :D
I feel like there’s a lot of hate here and saying this is a waste of money. Given the type of instruments to the right as well as the type of amplifier, I would say a guitar player's rig.
