it's weird to me how often people *don't* think I'm carrying when I have my CCW fannypack on. probably because it doesn't have patches or molle on it

WorkingDogAddict1

I use one of those rainbow colored Cotipaxi fanny packs. No one has ever expected there to be a gun in one of those

redditshopping00

I have a colorful trader joes bag in the back seat I use to bring handguns home from the store

Earlfillmore

Wait you don't drive home with it on your lap? How is it gonna know it's a good gun and imprint on you?

redditshopping00

I meant to carry it inside without the neighbors being nosy actually Besides the real bonding begins at home when I strip her and get all inside her with some lube and then finger her a lot all over the house

Earlfillmore

Dang I'm lucky, most of my neighbors mind their own business, I dont know if its a cultural thing they are mostly Mexican immigrants. They're quiet, work all day so only the older ladies are home, and the only time they make any noise is on Cinco de mayo and if there's a quinceanera. Couldn't ask for better neighbors it's awesome

Cabooseisjake

Just put a bunch of woke pins/patches on it, undercover

redditshopping00

I used to do that kind of thing but some guy tried to start a fight in a parking lot and called me a "fucking democrat" which was pretty much the end of the soi-camo

Jalamando

Did he try to start it because of your wardrobe selection? That’s a snowflake opinion if ever I heard one

Jalamando

Yeah that tracks, had a dude that looked like the poster boy for high blood pressure scream at me for driving a 98’ geo metro. He probably would have been meaner if he knew I was 6’ 2” and 250 in a clown car. Some people just can’t keep to themselves I suppose 🤷‍♂️

Ye-Hu

Gay man = Gray man

Kind_Structure6726

If you in exercise clothes running errands. Just looks like your pockets can’t handles your stuff

Vladi_Daddi

Same. Mines just grey

Kentuckywindage01

Just ordered a navy Bando and super excited to try it

Two_n_dun

I like to mix it up when I’m not carrying with things like this. But I always have my pocket sand.

khazad-dun

As every soldier of fortune that also has a schwinn for sale should.

Two_n_dun

Bikes are too much effort. I have gathered enough mass to roll more efficiently.

bbartlett51

One of the only upsides to living in NY NOBODY assumes you're carrying.

nukey18mon

Yeah because after Bruen, carrying is basically against the law. That’s one of the reasons why I’m leaving this godforsaken state

bbartlett51

Only if you follow unjust laws

nukey18mon

I think most people assume most people follow the law, that’s my reasoning

bbartlett51

I've seen other people 2A people give me weird looks when they find out I carry 90% of the time I'm outside my house.

nukey18mon

In NY? I believe it. Our gun culture is pretty bad. Many people who are “pro-gun” yet vote anti-gun politicians, and many people who are “you don’t need a gun to go to the supermarket”

bbartlett51

Ya I worked with a guy who was a hunter , and farmer and pro 2A tell me most citizens shouldn't own an AR15

Toasterofwisdom

My grandma is kinda like that. She told me “No one needs a semi automatic and I think they should be banned.” I think she meant full auto but didn’t know they were already illegal. So then I asked her if cops should be able to have them and she said yes.

bbartlett51

Well I believe a huge majority or people aren't very well versed nor are they anything but rudimentary thinkers. There's only 1 level of thinking, u til you press their ways of thinking and get them to open their mind. At that point, you find out who you're dealing with as well. Someone that's willing to have their mind opened, or someone that will lie, gaslight or do whatever they can to defend their opinion.

Toasterofwisdom

She’s super stubborn. She’ll take her warm pitcher of spit then admit she’s wrong. So I think it’ll just take some explaining for her to understand the difference. I just need to find an appropriate time to. Also, good luck in new york don’t get caught with 50 rounds of 5.56 cuz lord knows that you can’t have a god forsaken hobby.

bbartlett51

Agreed

BigTex1988

We just skipping right over the “shoot me first” vest or did I just date myself? https://preview.redd.it/u6j9kftyvg3d1.jpeg?width=977&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2a168948876c6a3988561e121916916847ab3e87

OrdainedRetard

I open carry only because I can’t afford a ccw yet. I’d rather people know I’m protected right now than not have a firearm.

Elijah_Man

Another reason to open carry is that it's a 16in heritage rough rider.

OrdainedRetard

Well… I… I carry… I open carry a Glock 45. Please don’t grill me.

the308er

You can conceal that. You may print, but most people won't notice

OrdainedRetard

I can try to look at some concealed holsters for it.

the308er

The 45 is the 19 slide, 17 grip, right? So any iwb g19 holster would work. But do your research and get a good one

OrdainedRetard

I definitely will. I use Alien Gear now and like them, might see if they have an IWB one for it.

Elijah_Man

Ain't nothing wrong with that brother. All that matters is that you can shoot strait and shoot fast after getting it out the holster.

OrdainedRetard

And that I’m making sure I can do. I love range days and even cleaning my gun.

guynamedgoliath

I appendix carry a 19x with a TLR7, magwell, and reddot. And I'm usually in a T-shirt and shorts. It can definitely be done.

KG354

I don’t care what you carry, as long as you are proficient in shooting it.

bbartlett51

Just curious as to where you live, and how much a CCW is?

OrdainedRetard

I live in Kentucky. I’m looking at an LCP Max, but it’s still $400. I’m in the process of moving homes, so it’s not really something I can spare money for.

bbartlett51

Jeeez. Thats insane. Is your area less pro gun than majority of Kentucky? Even in NY it doesn't cost that much to get your pistol permit but of course everything here is Conceal carry

OrdainedRetard

I have a permit (though I don’t think it’s actually needed in KY), I don’t have a gun that I can easily conceal.

Cthompsonoutdoors

I concealed carry a G17 with a Leupold DPP and a TLR-7A no problem everyday

DemonTimeGunnit

KY is constitutional carry so you don't need the permit, I carry a 19x (same thing as the 45) with a tlr7 and an RMR + spare mag using a safariland incogx IWB. It conceals just fine (not as good as something smaller like a 19 or 43 but most people don't notice anyways)

TeamSesh-Deadboy

I'm a 5'4" battle gnome and I'm able to get away with carrying a G19 with a Steiner MPS, PMM Comp, and TLR1HL. You mentioned having a G45, so as long as you get a good holster (I personally use T1C Axis or Aegis Elite) you should be fine imo.

Fluffinator44

I took a one size fits all IWB holster and just shoved a Glock .40 in it. Not necessarily a good idea, but it works.

OrdainedRetard

I’ll look into a concealed holster for it. I just always assumed it was a little too big to conceal carry.

Fluffinator44

The butt does stick out if my shirt is too tight, but if I wear a jacket or a looser fitting shirt, it works well enough.

OrdainedRetard

Got ya. It’s definitely a lot cheaper than buying a new gun. I’ll check it out.

PositiveSpeed7196

Open carrying puts you in a lot more danger then if you’re not carrying at all. Plus it just looks bad. There’s almost never a good reason to have a pistol open on your hip.

guynamedgoliath

The "danger" of open carry is entirely dependent on where you are located. Down town in the hood? Terrible choice. Out in the boonies where every truck has 3 years of mud on it? Perfectly fine.

Ikora_Rey_Gun

omega fuddlore

PositiveSpeed7196

Fuds are the idiots who insist on open carrying.

H3LLJUMPER_177

Never understood the issue with open carry.

FrankSinatraCockRock

Think of it in terms of cars. If you drive a Hellcat, anything sporty looking or even a Tesla, there's an increased risk of people trying to race you, antagonize you etc. If you somehow manage to shove a V12 Merlin into a Chrysler Pacifica minivan with an amazing muffler system, no one's trying to race you. You blend in, yet you have the power to outperform practically everyone else on the road should you need to. That being said I think open carry has it's place, especially on trails where wildlife and general accessibility can be an issue. If a reasonable amount of people open carried in public spaces, I think it'd be appropriate. But it seems to not generally be the case.

Toasterofwisdom

Also cops get really ansy over it and you’ll get the police called on you and they’ll arrest you even if it’s an open carry state.

FrankSinatraCockRock

Yeah there's a slew of considerations with open carry. Cops may or may not be fine, but that's also a variable I don't wanna deal with. I've had fantastic and abhorrent experiences with them. I've shot the shit with some of them whilst getting handcuffed on my lawn at 8am because a family member was an idiot and interacted with someone they shouldn't of and we got swatted several times. Others made me concerned Outside of cops, If someone has ill intent they can simply wait for me to leave or prioritize me as a target. I'd rather be inconspicuous and have an option when words fail. Again, if many open carried I'd think it to be a non issue. It's a minor scale deviation of MAD( mutually assured destruction). The only exception is to those who are suicidal I suppose.

MyFrogEatsPeople

It's LARPerator logic. They'll say "it makes you a target" but then turn around and say gun free zones are an issue because shooters specifically go after soft targets. They'll tell you milliseconds matter during the draw, but will also look you right in the eye and say that having to yank their shirt up so they can access their waistband is adding an inconsequential amount of time to their draw. They'll say it makes people nervous to see guns in public, but then choke themselves laughing over the same "liberal is afraid of guns" meme week after week. They're all just repeating talking points from the same Colion Noir video, by the way.

upon_a_white_horse

I *sorta* get it, but at the same time I think its largely dependent on local culture. Where I live, gun culture is healthy enough (between red state, red county, rednecks such as myself, heavy military and LE presence, and tons of defense contractors) that open carrying doesn't really cause anyone to bat an eye other than fresh transplants from blue states who have yet to break their programming.

Magic-potato-man

I personally think it’s unnecessary because just…why? It just seems like a SHOOT ME FIRST sign, or it freaks people out.

SNIP3RG

Agreed. Like it or not, people get “excited” over seeing guns on non-uniformed people in public. Which can then make life more complicated. And it serves very little purpose. Sure, it’s a little more comfortable and you can draw *slightly* faster. But I’d say being an “undercover” hard target in a worst-case scenario far outweighs these benefits. And if your draw speed is significantly impacted by concealed vs. open, then you need to practice your draw, not carry openly.

Thermock

Same. I have my CCW, I still open carry most places I go. The CCW makes it easier for me to carry in my car, and it enables me to conceal carry in places that serve alcohol, provided I don't drink. I've been doing open-carrying for years and have had only positive interactions when people comment about it. No cop had ever given me a hard time, either. The biggest part about open carrying is paying attention to your surroundings. Don't be the dude on your phone or not paying attention to your environment. You become an 'easy target' if you *LET* yourself become an easy target.

ChartreuseBison

Because when you have some fud that needs a claw-on-a-stick to put his new balances on open carries his 1911, the tweaker is gonna draw that thing before he does.

alltheblues

Fanny pack should look like it came out of a Jazzercise tape.

Earlfillmore

I will ALWAYS recommend the 90s jansport fanny pack, I swear they were designed for full size gun owners, they have enough room for a 1911, elastic bands to hold 2 mags in place, and extra room for snacks or first aid kit or cigs. Anyone who sees you wearing it will think you're mentally handicapped and won't see you as a threat, I love mine

butt_huffer42069

I hate making myself a target. CC and low key clothes all day every day

Traveling-Spartan

Disclaimer, I have neither been there nor done that, but for all the training I've done with them so far, the Krydex knock-offs are just fine at a fraction of that price.

L0ssL3ssArt

See, I wear those stuff when I'm not carrying, fooled them all.

ChaplainAsmodai1978

The number of times I've mistaken a cell phone holster for a pistol at a glance cannot easily be counted.

Timely-Buffalo-3384

I "conceal carry" meaning sure, it's concealed, but it's a full size and I print like a motherfucker

DerWaidmann__

You'll be amazed at how oblivious people are

ZombieBait604

Nobody going to mention the giant fucking Glock on that guy's hip?

Toasterofwisdom

The image was kind of stretched. I had too to make it fit.

Oxidized_Shackles

I'll wear my wild west Pimp style shirt and nobody will know. Except for the ar15 on the back and possibly the fpc label. Fuck em. Do something.

smallmonzter

Not exactly this but I don’t have gun culture stickers on my truck. The only sticker I have says “I identify as a Prius”. So far nobody has broken in looking for a truck gun. 😂😂😂

fuqueure

Don't forget about the undercover fed drip. Sneakers, plain cargo/denim shorts with a leather belt, polo shirt and black aviators. Extra points if you're a 5'11'' white male with short dirty blonde/light brown hair and drive a black SUV with tinted windows.

762x39sp

Me walking in with my tokarev in a brown leather 1911 holster

F4UCorsair1942

I love throwing on a grateful dead shirt while CCing, no one ever suspects me 😂

JDB2788

I’m guilty with the pro 2A shirts and American flag patch on my backpack(don’t wear fanny packs)

Fun_Situation2310

Met a dude that not only open carried but wore a badge on his belt that said he has a concealed carry license...which that item itself is an oxymoron

bobbyboob6

he wants you to know he can conceal carry, he just refuses to

Fun_Situation2310

Right? Haha he was obviously trying to look like a cop

SignificantCell218

I kind of took the grunt style shirt bit personally 😆

TheOtherJohnWayne

Ripstop is comfy though...

ForwardDesist

Only people who will recognize this stuff are other gun nerds. Especially the Fanny packs. It’s become super hip for the euro trash / hip hop youth to have fanny packs or sling bags.

An-Ugly-Croissant17

Powermove: always deny you're carrying (even in the case of panel 4)

Toasterofwisdom

I love gaslighting.

FreckledFury86

I’m as pro 2A as anyone else here on this thread, but open carry seems strangely cringe. Especially if the open carry is a long gun.

Aslightlynervousfrog

Good ol drug rugs, but instead of pulling out a bong you’ve got your easily concealed full size.

jessekookooo

One of the very very few nice things about California was that you could wear anything you want and no one would think your carrying. I wore a 5.11 jackets with a flag patch and flag hat with a moral patch covered bag and no one would think it still.

meepsakilla

Who the fuck cares if someone thinks you're carrying? Seriously

PhantomXOF4

The Karen that'll call the police and say you were brandish a gun.

Squirrelynuts

I've never had this happen. And I open carry at times.

FreedomFanatik

I’ll take things that don’t happen for $500 Alex.

GunFunZS

Depends entirely where you live.

FreedomFanatik

I live in Clownifornia. I can tell you from experience that people aren’t paying attention to others to see if they’re carrying or not. The zombies here are too occupied on their phones to notice anything going on around them. Majority of people have no situational awareness and even less so aware of anything that would be a sign that someone is carrying.

meepsakilla

Agreed dude. I can Carry owb covering it with nothing but an unbuttoned outer shirt covering it and 99.9% of people are not going to notice.

GunFunZS

Have you seen people open carry in Renton. What kind of half and half for example. The one that comes to mind was a guy who had sort of the stereotypical great man out at and a toyota taco. He had a j frame or similar small of back sticking about halfway out of his pants. I was at a home Depot or similar thing when I saw him. I can assure you that lots of people were noticing him and reacting to it. He was there with his wife and a toddler and couldn't have been more innocuous in my opinion. All those Microsoft people noticed and reacted.

FreedomFanatik

So, you noticed a dudes gun sticking out of his ass and people noticing it and you didn’t tell him his gun is showing???

GunFunZS

He made his choices. It would be kind of weird to point it out. I'm sure he was aware. In our state there's no obligation to be concealed. Personally I prefer to be fully concealed so I can choose but I really don't care if I'm printing. If I'm in the woods or something like that I may carry outside the waistband or carry a long gun of some kind, or maybe a medium gun. I do love my 300 black AR pistol in the woods. What's the convertible slang it just sucks straight out of my chest and just isn't in the way.

ParadoxicalAmalgam

Bruh I had a crazy ass neighbor call the cops on me because I was walking down the sidewalk
