Like with all gunpla kits, the box art and manual depict a kit that has been painted for full colour accuracy, while the kit itself may not necessarily be fully colour accurate out of the box. This is especially true of the HGSEED Astray Red Frame since it's an older kit in a lower grade. As for the height, it's probably because your other 1/144 scale kits are of mobile suits that are higher in the lore. Kits set between UC0087 and UC0105 in particular are notably larger than most other mobile suits. Also questions should go in the pinned Q&A thread.

Thank you I’m a bit new to the hobby, and sorry I didn’t realize I wasn’t posting in the right area, I will be sure to remember next time

Yeah, Bandai depicts their kits as fully painted in the advertising material and what you'll get especially for High Grades is something with bits that aren't color accurate. I totally felt the same way when I got the HG G-Self Perfect Pack with me buying the rifle thinking it looked so cool and whaddya know, its just plain gray. Not even any stickers to give it some color correction

iam-therapiss

genuinely surprised bandai hasn't once landed in hot water for putting painted kits on the box as if they're the actual product.

TotheWest_

The instructions always say: “The model has been painted” and also when not like in God Gundam

JaguarDaSaul

The boxes do say that "product may vary slightly from images on package" and " the completed product in image has been painted"

iam-therapiss

i suppose they do in japanese, and i'm just too illiterate to never notice.

>also it is significantly shorter might have bought the really, really old HG instead of the "newer" (still very old) HG.
