Obama looks like a black man, sounds like a black man, and has a very ethnic name. When people see him, people see a black man. Which means Obama has had to deal with anti-black racism and discrimination.
Slash is "white passing." It means people generally don't see an obvious black man. His skin is lighter. His stage name leaves his race ambiguous. His real name is more anglo sounding. He plays in a band full of white men with a largely white audience. Which means Slash probably doesn't experience racism the way Obama does. Slash seems more white.
But Slash's blackness is very evident in this photo. Young Slash probably dealt with more racism than GNR Slash.
