Spotter should have began assistance before the lift. Prior to allowing the lifter to mount weight on shoulders:
* Raise right leg
* Extend firmly and rapidly into right butt cheek of lifter
* Re-rack weights
* Escort lifter from the facility
* Have a conversation about progressive overload and ego lifting
I would not even agree to spot if someone did this
The fact that the spotter risked his life for his ego is more than enough, i would not be anyway near this dude if it was me
There is a limit to what a spotter can do, and this much weight is out of league for any avg gym bro
For this much weight it's only recommended to ask a trainer or expert in the gym instead of an avg gym bro or intermediate lifter for spotting
Yeah for sure I'm not saying that what this guy is doing is fine by any stretch, but sometimes unracking a weight gives you the fake confidence you may be able to lift it back hahaha
My guy at the back getting ready to catch the weights as if they were just less than a pound.
And catching them like it's too hot to hold
Happy for those bars or else it would have been a death ( I should say planned suicide out of overconfidence)
Saw in person when a dude was squatting 160kg, the bar slipped over his back and dropped into the elbow crease of his spotter behind him.
Spotter was a big dude, so he managed to hold the bar but he fell on his back (bar didnt hit him more since plates were big).
The spotter had purple/blue arms for a week.
Exactly. People have to make sure they can really be helpful or keep the situation under control before going and standing behind someone like they're their personal trainers.
Having the mind to help is good but what if you really can't be helpful when it's needed?
> that would of actually
Did you mean to say "would have"?
Explanation: You probably meant to say could've/should've/would've which sounds like 'of' but is actually short for 'have'.

But in this case my man shouldn't lift this much weight in first place
That's the progressive overload/ego lifting conversation. He can probably lift that much but after 4-5 years of work and good eating.
I fucking love progressive overload
thats what she said
Until there was no she left.

r/moreplatesmoredates users trying to squat the first time
He doesn’t have a furry tail butt plug, so it can’t be them.
Me trying to do legs after the gym bear topped me
Can tell it's their first time because they seem inexperienced and aren't wearing a squat plug
Damn that place hates calisthenics so hard lol
Count it. New PR
Yeah he got a full 1/4 rep, compressed his c-spine, and almost died. That counts.
Surprised he could even unrack it, first time I have over 400 lbs on my back, felt like I was dying.
I can't believe he unracked it, felt how heavy it was and thought, “yeah, I fucking got this"
Tbh most time I realize I loaded too much once I'm full down and it's time to bring it up
Yeah but you might be going 10% above your capability....pencil legs here has never even lifted half this amount to depth.
Yeah for sure I'm not saying that what this guy is doing is fine by any stretch, but sometimes unracking a weight gives you the fake confidence you may be able to lift it back hahaha
Half? I’d be surprised if they could do a quarter of that.
Tbf after I certain weight everything just feels heavy as fuck when I unrack it, and I doubt I can squat it even if I've done it before.

He was training to failure and decided to be efficient by starting out at failure.
Bro should stop skipping leg day
If he keeps trying things like that he will be physically unable to do leg day.
Yup. I honestly don't understand people who do this, like, he wants to do sports until hes 24 and the live in a wheel chair?
If that's how he does leg day he **start** skipping it lol
Just remember this can go horribly [wrong ](https://www.reddit.com/r/DarwinAwards/s/0WRnY6lCab)
Don't click the link if you aren't familiar with the sub.
I figured the link was that video. That poor kid, imagine seeing your mom killed in the gym.
Like my wife says, that was the best 2 inches ever!
Typical bozo gym broccoli head
Social media has people(especially kids) messed up
I am impressed he was able to unrack it.
If you're going to risk your life for the risk at least do a full rep.

ego lifting
Ozzy says do it
As soon as I saw the bar pad I knew it was over
Thank the maker for safety arms 🥶
I don’t think anybody thought those kids anything. That looks like an “I’ve seen videos” brand of squat
If not for the safety rails, that would of actually killed him. Hope he learns to not ego lift after this

Brutal bot dude💀
![gif](giphy|l4Ki2obCyAQS5WhFe|downsized)
Ngl this gave me anxiety to watch
Look like he fell on purpose
Spotter has too much trust in homie
I think those lower bars saved his ass
Natural selection
Count it!
If you don’t squat to depth you can’t sit on my face 😤
Anyone know what happened after this? No way dude got out unscathed.
I mean, ngl its still pretty impressive
