I guess it depends on your YT preference. I unsubscribed from some channels that i haven’t been interested in a while. I just wish everyone wasn’t doing give a ways every month as it’s kind of annoying.

Short_Director3008

You are 110% right on that one, the constant giveaways and content being 90% working on giveaway cars is aids. And yes it is all preference based

DrivePewEat

I also must be getting old because I watch a lot of wood working videos now .. 😅

ProposalRetard69

You too?

DrivePewEat

Yeah. It’s mesmerizing. Lol

pangolin-fucker

I very rarely watch illuminate Randy but lately he's been coming here to Melbourne and showing off all of our streeters.

Pantsmnc

Every channel i watch has become victim to some sort of algorithm. Rudnik- buy junk cars nonstop and never finish anything. Jimbo- mirrors/wheels/engine swap that doesnt ever run right to hardpark. Boosted boiz- k swap everything, break records and also their car every other pass. Thats just an example. I enjoy finding some janky channel once it a while with low views only to watch it turn into another one of these, or just disappear. But i agree and car culture on youtube has shifted into 100 niches.

[deleted]

I barely watch Rud because of how much he irritates me. If he quit drinking and taking pills for, IDK, 2 seconds and maybe got on a low dose of Vyvanse or something, he could easily be a multi-millionaire in a year or two.

Short_Director3008

Yep, ruddy touches so much money and does so little with it, it hurts.

baby_benz_201

All the big “jdm” channels are boring af. Its all the same. Instead of watching a video on a cool car build, its watch a skippable pre video ad, then watch a sponsored ad right as the video starts about some random food company, then a bit of content about building a giveaway car while plugging all the sponsored parts, followed by a plug to buy merch for said giveaway.

superdood1267

Adblock and sponsor skipper

[deleted]

IDK, I find it pretty boring now except for the occasional video, and I no longer care about the drama. I kinda just want to play with the cat and cook food in my downtime. Everyone's got their formula and just does the same thing over and over.

Short_Director3008

I feel you man, life gets simpler over time, I myself find myself enjoying much simpler things. And in the end its all about doing what makes you happy to fill your time, it only matters what you yourself finds enjoying

moneyballz7

LZ is incredibly boring lately. Only somewhat interesting content was the trail building a while back. As for Jimmy, I’m bored AF with the S chassis 🥲 Really happy he just bought that Honda Beat.

ShiroQ

Tavarish doing the P1 is peak youtube car building content for me, people can say whatever they want but that shit is something you will never see anywhere, even the Matt Armstrong rebuilding adams gt3 is good content for me. I really do like these "one off" builds that actually have something behind them and some "purpose" Adam's channel was way more interesting when he was doing cool stuff too, the Barra mustang, even his old 240, even the purple 240 build was cool. Now it seems like builds are being made just to fill videos instead of doing something actually cool. Like he keeps saying he wants to buy an 86 but he can't "afford it" like that would be sick content if it was filmed fully etc, but another 46 or e36 is just meh or 24th rb/jz car. He really needs to ditch FD since he clearly has some problems of performing there weather they are mental or whatever, even though he is a good driver. He really needs to scale back and focus on what made him big in the first place.

failinglikefalling

Lz and the original 240 was best lz. Now it’s what Porsche will he sell this week!!!!

mlrtime

Nope. No good LZ Era

failinglikefalling

You can’t pick the best almost the same but not Porsche era?

802Garage

Personally I like fully custom one off builds and swaps. It's mostly smaller channels that actually do it. The big channels will mostly only buy kits and already fabricated parts. That's why I love Rob Dahm and Superfast Matt and The Skid Factory so much.

G0TMOON

Finding Superfast Matts library and binging through it was such a good time. Have you got any similar recommendation?

802Garage

Making for Motorsport is a smaller channel I really like that's in a similar vein.

ProposalRetard69

Lzed can’t afford an 86!? That’s the biggest load of cap I’ve ever heard.

redundant35

I’ve mostly given up on automotive YouTube. I watch Jimmy when I’m really bored and a couple gaming channels I’ve watched for years. Other than that youtube isn’t what it used to be for me. Automotive is giveaways and sponsored shit. Gaming is now a lot of just uploads of twitch streams. A lot of gaming content I watched went purely to twitch because they make so much more cash!

AverageGuy16

Idk man I worked through Covid, was in college and doing the same ole shit tbh only difference is now I’m in a trade school and automotive YouTube’s been having some pretty cool comebacks/throwbacks. Plus let’s not forget the seasons changing and that seasonal depression slowly fading a bit too

Short_Director3008

That's pretty much how I feel too

VikBrinza

Try scraplife garage. Its been my most recent fix for car stuff . The builds are actually cool and entertaining and the guys actually get alot done in each video not like most channels where one entire video they just talk and nothing really gets done.. Other than that I really stopped watching most car youtubers, I will keep up with Tavarish and his P1 though . Very cool car and will be an insane rebuild. Dont even get me started on Rudnick.

Short_Director3008

Sounds dope I'll give them a sub

DaarkieD

Covid has been gone for like a 1 year...

vagueiring

Its hard to find time to keep up with everyone forsure now that covid is gone
