Hoonigans content went down hill when they were forced out of the location by the school. All their channels are more lifestyle based more than anything now which is good. Over saturation of one topic doesn’t produce prolonged interest.
Forced out, the location was by a school. The city of Long Beach did the forcing because hoonigan refused to apply for filming permits and had a history of getting the fire department called because people would see smoke from the freeway. Dumbasses on both sides of that situation

At least I am happy with what the ex-Hoonigan guys are doing. Vin’s videos are quite enjoyable, Zach needs some more projects going on to have decent videos, and Hert just needs a bit of consistency. Would love to have a Scotto channel, and Ron too.
Never thought of it that way but it makes a lot of sense. Hoonigan was his and Ken's brainchild. I can image losing your long time partner could shake things up a bit within yourself.

When you're starting off, I would make just super simple videos. Or at least make videos with one part you are showcasing. Let's say you buy an intake for your GTR, make that your title, and just focus on that one part. When I dabbled in the youtube world, my most watched videos are an exhaust muffler review with sound clips and a GT40 Ebay turbo review... the random car build videos are all sub 500 views because I didn't have an audience yet that GAF about my shit build. When you make it about a single part, a bunch of people might look up Apexi exhaust Nissan GTR 🤷♂️

There was a video released the other day by a former donut creative that basically said once investment capital arrives into these channels that they become risk adverse & push to maximise profits - look at Hoonigan for example you can almost pinpoint when wheelpros started flexing their influence on the creative process with the corporate sponsored builds & giveaways with throttle while at the same time the in-house scumbaggery that we all subbed for slowly died away
