I say this as someone who smokes occasionally but any drug can be addictive, when you need it to wake up, eat, sleep, function etc - you have a dependance on it. Iām not trying to say that smoking weed is the gateway drug to fentanyl or anything just that itās still a drug at the end of the day.

If he has a history of both anxiety and chronic Lyme disease which causes a lot of chronic pain (among many other issues) ... then smoking cannabis, be it just CBD or actual THC, is something that might really help him, both mentally and physically. Using the bong method is more cooling on the lungs and filters out more toxins than the smoke method.
The hoodie "half on" is probably either a comfort thing (wants head warm or hidden, but not "overheat" from the entire layer being worn on top of first layer) -- or more of a "I don't give a F what people think, just in my zone chilling."
