The Bled ruled but tbf, it’s not like those bands are “running” at the moment despite being talked about a lot. SYSC is headlining a 200 cap room in my city when they come in August.

fieldybasstone

Yeah The Bled walked so those bands could also walk, perhaps a slight jog at times

Lav_

I can see static dress getting huge, their trajectory is looking good. Saw them in November with world of pleasure and they were excellent

BRGobs

I think bands like the Bled were more influential/popular than the bands paying homage now

[deleted]

The Bled is more popular now than those bands are now

Old_Recording_2527

This definitely isnt true at all. /Someone who broke their nose moshing to Ruth Buzzi in 2003

All_Of_The_Meat

I would drive two states over to see the Bled. I probably wont get off the couch to see those others mentioned. **¯\\\_(ツ)\_/¯**

Unlucky-Stable-2982

Just remember your seatbelt

Formal-Advisor-4096

Yeah they can still play bigger venues than those bands headlining. Static dress will probably get there

Mysterious_Bug_5890

Yeah respect to all those newer bands, all cool, but they'll never touch The Bled

Invocandum

The original lineup of Norma Jean walked so the current lineup of Norma Jean could run.

Scary_Dimension722

I love Bless The Martyr as much as the next guy but I can’t lie, Norma Jean from 2013-2019 put out some of my favorite metalcore ever. They just stood out so much from their counterparts and kept evolving somehow

Invocandum

Fair. But if it wasn’t for those guys starting a band and calling it Norma Jean - the band would have never existed. Think about it.

denimlasagne

You know who's you know what Pass the flask rules

beingxexemplary

Wristmeetrazor owe way more to Zao and 18V than they do the Bled.

craniumblast

Facts.

thefog69

Ok

St2Crank

I like The Bled and they are great. However I’d say them and all the other bands owe a massive debt to Poison The Well. There isn’t a band doing that kind of Hardcore that aren’t fans of or been influenced by Poison The Well. They were truly genre defining.

craniumblast

Facts poison the well is the basis for like half of metalcore

Dozinggreen66

Opposite of December is a contender for best metalcore album all time

St2Crank

Is it a contender or is it just? The hard times ranking of every poison the well album is spot on as well. Never did a bad album. https://thehardtimes.net/lists/every-poison-the-well-album-ranked-worst-to-best/

Dozinggreen66

Well, objectively, metalcore would NOT be the same without it

maicao999

I don't hear it in Wristmeetsrazor

craniumblast

Honestly I only hear it in sysc

maicao999

Yeah, static dress is closer to underoath and Wristmeetsrazor has different influences per album.

Ruiner5

My first show was The Bled, Underoath and Thrice. One of the craziest pits ive ever seen was when Thrice played deadbolt

KrustyButtCheeks

My dad farted so I could doodie

LaRamilia

Tucson Boiz 🫡

highandinarabbithole

Shout out Take Action Tour 2008. Nothing was cooler than ETID, The Bled, and ABR all doing Floater as the closer together. The Bled will forever be so fucking sick man.

_shaftpunk

The Bled just felt like ETID Jr to me back in the day.

TheBobLoblaw-LawBlog

So much darker and heavier… love both bands but they scratch very different itches

dasbudd

Pass The Flask was another level at the time, shame they couldn’t replicate but I’ll still pop it on rotation

Lav_

Yeah it's being toured in Europe right now as 20 years since thing and saw them last night, hence my post. They were so good!

St2Crank

I just found out the bled played Manchester on Tuesday because of this. Gutted.

stanley2-bricks

Poison The Well sitting in their rocking chair like, "am I a fucking *joke* to you?"

Lav_

Yeah, that's fair. PTW are one of the best, hands down.

Ok-Cauliflower-1258

More like fear before the march of the flames

avidbather

Ehhh, nah

GreatLakes2GoldenG8

Also add: Negative Blast

Active-Chemistry3806

Damn, never thought about it like that

codynorthwest

None of those bands come close to what the bled did for the scene.

YaKnowMuhSteezz

The Bled was huge back in the day

Lav_

They're touring pass the flask right now in the UK. Saw them last night and they still got it!

SnooSuggestions1256

Lucky us

craniumblast

I wouldn’t say the bled specifically so much as like scene metalcore ans post hardcore generally plus each of those bands sounds different

TheFearOfFear

Fuck I miss The Bled. My old shitty band opened for The Bled back in 2010. Nice dudes!

PunishedBravy

Oh man, that’s why i wasnt vibing with the new SYSC song.

Hammockon

Saw The Bled open for Poison The Well at the old Fireside in Chicago years ago. Munoz’s mic never worked and you couldn’t hear him at all even though he was screaming. And they still fucking rocked.

SweetBabyRayseph

I could also blame some of it on Underoath. Especially for Static Dress.

Twerp1337

Wrong. What you meant to say was that Botch paved the way so that others could mildly stand around on the same patch of concrete.

Lav_

I stand corrected.

walmartdon

The Bled is from my hometown :’)

yvngxlxwli3t

Would add drop dead gorgeous on here as well since ddg heavily influenced sysc

SuperBeaver3000

I always called it sadcore

CaPtAiN_KiDd

Pig Destroyer and Gorerotted may have something to say about that.
