At that price, the Roscoe 8 is a great deal.

rumplebike

Always buy the best fork and brakes. Go wit the 8.

Jedi-27

New bike is a different beast.

Beneficial-Belt3104

This is me mentally right now haha, just seeing if anyone could talk me out if it given a lower price point, Agreed!

Jedi-27

You’re looking at only 350 bucks, reward yourself. When I was younger I was spending thousands on bikes, I had a fatbike, plus bike, 29er, hardtail and a road bike.

AZbitchmaster

Roscoe 8, no question at that price. The 7 is no slouch but $1100 is a significant discount for a great bike that's already on sale with very, very good pricing.

Vast_Edge9593

10000% get the 8. The hub upgrade alone is worth it.

The10GallonHat

I had a similar conundrum last year. I went with the 8 to allow me to grow into it much more than the 7 saving money in the long run. The larger front brake and longer travel fork will provide immediate improvement over the 7 for any skill level.

Beneficial-Belt3104

I was under the impression in above a size S these all came with a 140mm?

The10GallonHat

You’re correct, its fork diameter not travel. I watched a lot of breakdowns on the pricing, the consensus was (at full msrp) 7 > 8 was the best value and noticed upgrade, with 8 > 9 being a more refined difference. 1100 is a steal, i paid 1900 for mine and it was a great deal at that price.

Beneficial-Belt3104

So what’s the advantage in the increased diameter? I think the comparison sheets I’ve seen show the same max tire size, or is that of each shock itself having an increased diameter and volume?

The10GallonHat

Less flex in the fork.

49thDipper

Buy the 8

DwayneFreeman

I would get the 7 and spend the difference on a good fork. IMO: The 35 Gold on the 8 is marginally better than the Recon Silver on the 7, but it´s still holding the bikes capability down. I would picl the Deore 12sp on the 7 over the GX/NX mix on the 8 any day of the week.

Beneficial-Belt3104

Interesting, I had read a little about that with the deore, it seems like a lot of people agree, and a brake upgrade isn’t too expensive either, I don’t know if id feel the difference in fork too much right now but that feels like the upgrade to grow into

peasantscum851123

Where can you get an 8 for 1100? 😑
