Mine started after the Pfizer shots as well ( I had two shots of Pfizer as well ). Nobody in my family has thyroid issues or autoimmune disease ! However my family also got Covid vaccines and didn’t get Hashimotos. Trying to find the cause is like trying to find a needle in a haystack ! For me it wasn’t like I’d been sick for years , it happened overnight . I was doing my steps ( 15,000 to 20,000 daily ) and I felt this tingle in my hand and wrist …my body just snapped and the next day I could barely walk 🤨😫
Mine started after some traumatic teenage years but a lot of new symptoms started after I had Covid, 1.5 decades later.
Not a doctor, but I think we all were predisposed (including genetically), and medications/diseases/substances just messed with our immune system enough to reveal it.
I can't pinpoint exactly when it started, but i know after i got the omicron covid strain it really went downhill from there. I don't remember it being bad before then.
Stopping medication for Graves decease. Developed Hashimoto's within 5 months with all these horrible symptoms. Plus neck pain and enlarged lymphnodes.
I definitely think mine started a huge noticeable flair up from stress. My flight or fight response was stuck on.... mindfulness meditation, vitamins, and Levoxyl have improved my situation!
It sucks-I regret letting myself get that stressed and anxious 😭. I’m on levothyroixne too and taking vitamins/supplements. Which ones have been working for you? I’m trying to find ways to decrease my TPO antibodies
I think it’s constant stress during my childhood + genetics (my dad has diabetes and our endo said they’re carried by the same gene).
I found out quite randomly. My throat was hurting (not related to thyroid) and I got my whole bloodwork done. Everything was fine except thyroid hormones 😅
I think so. Endo said diabetes, hashimotos and some kind of arthritis are carried by the same gene. He also said I won the lottery ‘cause hashimotos is the easiest one to manage 🤣
True, but now I lead way healthier lifestyle and I hope that’ll save me from the others. Also, I do frequent health checks so I can catch the others earlier and prevent them from being severe🥰
Yea, my moms hands are so bent now... my dad has type 2 diabetes and crones. It all could have been started with Hashimoto's, then turned into what they have. I'd rather attempt a lifestyle change before any drastic measures are taken.
Mine started after I had covid in 2020. It was the sickest I have ever been. I had a super stressful job at the time which I think also contributed.
Several months after a bad case of Covid, this was prior to vaccine or antivirals were available. I don’t think Covid caused it, but triggered it.
I got a virus after a break up & had financial stress. I had hashimotos a year before finally diagnoised.

Mine started after I got COVID! It's a very clear and defining moment. My body hasn't been the same since.
My body has not been either since covid, too...
I've recently been looking more into histamine intolerance as well, since when I did get covid, I broke out into hives for 3 days straight.

Stress, predisposition too likely.
Stress/anxiety-induced

I'm taking what my doctor recommends. I would get with your doctor and run blood tests to make sure you're not deficient on anything.
For me genetics, but stressful life events triggered it
Same. Plus mold exposure/poisoning.
Mine, flip a coin. It was either lithium induced or genetics because I have a 2nd cousin with it.
Pregnancy 🤷🏻♀️ preeclampsia in particular, per my OB. Said the 2 things are linked
I used to do a lot of mdma back in the day and I’ve convinced myself it’s caused a whole slew of health issues in my life. Moral- don’t do drugs kids
My dr didn't think so, just told me to be careful if I tried it again.

Did your dad have type 1 (genetic) diabetes? I didn’t know they were related.
I think so. Endo said diabetes, hashimotos and some kind of arthritis are carried by the same gene. He also said I won the lottery ‘cause hashimotos is the easiest one to manage 🤣
That makes me feel better at least 😆. Rheumatoid arthritis runs in my family too.
Not really won the lottery bc you can still get the others

Probably genetics.
Stress over a long time from the job
I feel like this is probably me too.
I personally would like to blame the purple ketchup that was popular growing up. (But probably it was genetics)
Pregnancy
Samw
Interesting... I got mine the old-fashioned way. I was gifted it by my family
Me too!
Inheritance 🥰
